Quaint cottage that is very well stocked and clean. Large yard with fire pit and grill. Second rental in the garage that is very well separated with a fence and different parking. Close to Bass Harbor for a boat ride and Southwest Harbor for restaurants.
The design and decor of the house were exactly as pictured - an adorable little bungalow that comfortably slept our family of 5. I missed it in the fine print, but other travelers should be aware that there is no A/C upstairs - just in the main room on the first floor. Unfortunately, in mid-July, it was extremely hot upstairs, but our kids did fine with it. We were comfortable on the first floor.

Thank you for the review and feed back! Yes, our house air conditioner downstairs and in the past this has worked out great! This year for first time temperatures have been unseasonably hot! We are looking at ways to install A/C this fall for next season! In the past the temperature goes down at night and rarely do guest ever use the A/C! Most of the homes new and old rarely have A/C on the island! But, my apologies for the weather during my guest visit during July 2026! We are addressing the issue for future travelers

We had a wonderful stay! The property had everything we needed and more. Everything felt like new and was very clean. The outdoor seating area was especially lovely and perfect for relaxing. A few items were not operational, but they did not impact our stay at all. Overall, a great experience – we would happily stay here again.
Check in was very easy. The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for us. We didn’t realize until the second day that the Bass Harbor Head lighthouse was right down the road. We had to check it out the morning we checked out. Checking out was also easy.

Why they chose this property
Traveled to Maine with my children and friends! Started vacationing in Maine 20 years ago. Came to Southwest Harbor to sail! Best friends have a large Hinckley sailboat. Maine is the best place for sailing. My favorite spot on the Island is Bass Harbor. Best sunsets on the island. Great access to the ocean and harbor. Being on the end of the Mount Desert Island is truly a magical experience.
