About this property
Dog-friendly, FREE BIKES next to Historic Downtown
This apartment is one of five units in a completely renovated 1880's mansion and is sanitized between guests. It is a sun-filled pet-friendly unit on the second floor with large windows and old pine floors. Sit in the rocking chairs on the front balcony. The location is perfect, so close to the historic district with all the shopping, restaurants and bars, Bikes are available to roam around town. There is one guaranteed parking space. Dogs are allowed for a $40 pet fee per dog (max of 2)
This second floor apartment is in a charming historic home built in the 1880's, that was originally two houses and converted into five apartments decades ago. The property was completely renovated in 2018. You have a large, completely renovated, eat-in kitchen with all the pots/pans/dishes you need to cook (or not, you're on vacation!). A large new bathroom with a tile shower with glass doors and full size washer and dryer. The building is located in front of an elementary school. You'll love the charm of the home as well as all the conveniences. Your apartment is located on the 2nd floor, and there is nothing above you.
One of the best parts of the property is the large backyard, complete with picnic table, charcoal bbq grill and lots of other seating. It's got beautiful lighting in the backyard too.
This is a one bedroom apartment furnished with pretty antiques. There is the possibility of other sleep arrangements on the sofa bed. The sofa bed is a futon - which is probably too small for two adults. The primary bed is a very comfy queen with an antique iron bedstand.
********** We actively encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance.
We will only refund the booking for a hurricane threat if an evacuation is ordered in the area by the State of Florida. We experience threats nearly every other week during hurricane season, that rarely amount to anything.
Contracted Covid? That's why you need to purchase insurance. It will cover your booking reimbursement, and we hope you have a speedy recovery.
Your apartment is completely separate. You enter in the main door, and there are four apartments (two upstairs, two downstairs) in this part of the building. You have free use of the shared back yard, which has picnic tables and other seating, charcoal bbq grills and the shared bicycles, along with a funky pedicab where one of you can bike the spoiled person around. Flashing lights included!
We have a wonderful property manager, Gina, who lives a minute away and is available to answer any questions or provide any missing things. Can't find a corkscrew? Missing facecloths? They're all supposed to be there - just ask and if it's anything we can provide, we will. We want all of our guests to have a five star experience and it all starts by communication! We're also fully available by email or text. It's just that we're traveling too!
This is an interesting neighborhood. We're located right across the street from Ketterlinus Elementary school, so during recess time, you definitely hear the sound of the children, but it means it's pretty quiet at night. There's not a lot of street noise.
It's fun to sit outside on weekend nights and hear the music from downtown, but you don't hear it in the house.
We're in a neighborhood called Flagler's Model Land. Most of the houses in the neighborhood were built in the 1800's and some are very charming. Most of the area was originally owned by Henry Flagler, who played an important part of the growth of St. Augustine. Flagler College is also just a couple of blocks away.
We're a few minute walk to The Social Lounge and The Barley Republic, if you're looking for a drink. The food at The Barley Republic is very Irish and very tasty. Just a bit further and you get to our absolute favorite restaurant: Thai House & Sushi on Hypolita. Don't let the outside fool you with those ugly orange chairs. The food and the sushi is top notch, creative and delicious. Tell them Lindsey sent you!
We are less than two blocks from a trolley stop next to the Wax Museum, which most visitors to St. Augustine like to use to explore the city.
You are always welcome to park on the street in front of the house if there is room. If there's no parking, you also will have ONE assigned spot behind the property. Directions to the parking will be provided with your check-in instructions.
If you have a second car, we do have overflow parking for possibly one extra car on a first come, first serve basis. Parking permit is required. It's usually not a problem to find extra parking if you need to.
For longer trips around, Uber, taxis and pedicabs are readily available.
This is a wonderful old house, but these old houses weren't built with the same soundproofing that houses are now, so you may hear some noise. Events and parties are not allowed as a result. We do allow pets, so if you have severe allergies, you need to be aware of this. If you bring your dog, please make sure your dog is quiet. We can't allow constantly barking dogs to be left alone. If it's a problem, you'll have to take the dog with you. Make sure, as always, to clean up after your pet. Most importantly, enjoy yourself.

We had a great time. It was clean, well maintained, and perfect for a weekend holiday getaway. The host were easily approachable and helpful when booking. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a friendly and affordable stay.
Great location! Quiet cozy spot within walking distance to everything. The bed was very comfortable and I got a good nights sleep after wandering through old town. Will definitely stay here again when I come back to St Augustine!
We had a great stay at this property. It was clean, had a great porch with rocking chairs, and had plenty of towels and anything else we needed. The people who run the property were very communicative as well. I will stay here again without a doubt the next time I am in St.Augustine :).
We really enjoyed the quiet retreat in spite of a very busy July 4th weekend in St. Augustine. Great location and easy access to food and entertainment!
Everything you could want or need is found in this rental. Location, kitchen, bath, equipment, WiFi…it’s all here. Comfortable, scrupulously clean, and even parking! I can’t compliment owner and staff enough.
We stayed here for the weekend and loved it-I’d say this property is our favorite from all the others we’ve used in st. Augustine. From the start, communication was quick and helpful-the owners were very extremely responsive. Our unit was perfect for my husband and I and our small dog. It was a little apartment that had everything you could need. The bed was so comfortable too which is very important to us! The location was ideal. We were able to walk to the historic area in less than 10 minutes. Parking was also a breeze. We took advantage of the street parking which was right out front, which couldn’t have been more convenient. We will definitely come back and I can’t say enough about this property.
We had a great time in St Augustine, only wish we could have stayed longer! The location was great for walking anywhere downtown and very clean and well maintained. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home while we enjoyed our trip!

We love to travel ourselves, and spend much of our time at other AirBnB properties. We are always finding ideas on how to make the stay for our guests more enjoyable. We travel with our dog, Scout and go all over the world with her and her new "brother", the crazy Bandido from Peru.
Why they chose this property
This property is so well located. We bought this property because we love old homes and we love renovating them. We spent two long years on this house, but the results are worth it. It turned out to be a beautiful home and I'm sure you will enjoy it.
What makes this property unique
The unique part about this home includes the use of the back yard, and of course, there are first-come, first-serve bicycles that you are welcome to use to explore town during the day. It's so close to walk that we rarely take the bikes ourselves, but it's great to explore farther afield. It was originally two separate houses built around 1896. At some point, the houses were joined and with a lot of quirky additions, five separate apartments were made.
