About the host
Hosted by Leslie Osborne
Moving to the Western NC Mountains from Charlotte NC back in 1990 was a new venture for my family. Having lived here for nearly 30 years now and falling in love with the area and its people, it lends me to call Asheville my home. Being in real estate sales, I get to see so many beautiful properties in the greater Asheville area so I am grateful to have an older cabin to offer folks to rent that is reminiscent of the cabins I stayed in during my youth across Western North Carolina.
Why they chose this property
The cabin was built by Abner Gwaltney in 1928 and has passed through several generations of families until my parents purchased the home as their summer getaway from the heat of the lowlands of NC. I purchased the cabin in 2004 when my parents decided they could no longer make the trip to Asheville. By that time, I had moved to Asheville and decided to keep the cabin available for family members to use. In 2008 I decided to open the cabin to the public because of its great location to downtown Asheville and it gave a choice to travelers that didn't want to stay in a regular ole hotel room.
What makes this property unique
The gorgeous views of the mountains and the surrounding horse farms.
