This was our first time in Nevada City and Connie's artist cottage is the perfect place to stay and enjoy this quaint, friendly and lovely town! We loved how each room is decorated - nothing ordinary at all! The kitchen is roomy and had everything we needed to cook the fresh foods from the farmer's market, enjoy the wine and cheese while enjoying jazz on the Bose. Thank you, Connie! We had an awesome time!

Dirty, Dirty not Artsy just Junky
I have no idea what these other people saw in this house, But I had to check out early.
it was dirty, not well keep, dusty, one big clump of hair in the "SPA TUB" in the bathroom.
The master bathroom had mildew in the shower all over it, not just in a corner...all over.
The photos that are posted of the backyard is not what we found. Not a nice chair to sit in or the nice umbrella that is in the photo. This home is not up to VRBO standard...and don't get me started on the BBQ

This renter knew of the property before renting and actually trespassed onto the property and looked in the windows! The nerve!
Hestitant to rent, she apologized for trespassing so I decided to rent to her (should've known it was the renter from …h....). She called two hours before move-in time to say they were moving in unless we called back to say it was too early! The nerve!
Brought a HUGE boat without warning the owners in case there was not room to park it.
Then they parked their boat and truck in a clearly marked NO PARKING (3 times) and blocked a driveway. No consideration!
Brought two dogs with them and didn't tell us so they would not have to pay! Cheaters!
There is no mold in the shower.....a bit of grout is lose but it is not mold. Her complaints about cleanliness are just a rant. They wanted to go home so they could watch the baseball game. Her husband was upset because the DISH network didn't bring in whatever channel he wanted for the Giants game so they wanted to go home and watch.
Let's face it, these were the WORSE renters I've had in the 7 years I've done this…..but it's to be expected that I get someone like this after so long.

Wonderful cottage perfect for a couples getaway
The Art Cottage is so lovely and much roomier than you think when you first look at it. Interesting art everywhere you look, funky cool colors in all the rooms and one especially gloriously crazy bathroom. And it is so quiet and peaceful. Walking distance to the downtown and good restaurants. The smell of pine trees! Highly recommend. And Connie is a great owner/host. Communicates quickly.

Nevada City is a wonderful place to visit. Plenty of shops to see as well as great eating places. 👍
The cottage was very unique. Every room was decorated beautifully and differently. The back patio was a nice place to spend our time relaxing playing games and sometimes eating. The cottage met all our needs. My wife and I really enjoyed being able to walk down to Nevada City from the house since the parking was very hard to find. It’s about a mile down hill and coming back up hill a mile. Well worth it. Lots of old style houses to see along the way. We also enjoyed visiting the very, very, old cemetery across the street from the cottage. Lots of very old dated head stones. Overall The Art Cottage was a fantastic place to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary and 33years together ( high school sweethearts). This place does have plenty of “JUJU”. We would stay here again anytime. Thanks for making Frank & Shawna Vallelunga’s visit to Nevada City a fantastic experience.😜👍

Still lovely in 2017
We visited in 2015 and we loved the look and feel of the house. In 2017 we were so happy to see the trees and plants so well taken care of and the home still charming. Kudos to this property owner.

Everything you need is provided and then some.
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Art everywhere, but not overwhelmingly so. Lots of extras - mini speaker for phone, CDs, library, nice deck with outside seating for meals, etc. everything was clean, comfortable and miticulously maintained. Connie was immediately responsive to any queries. We definitely will return.

Great home and lovely owner
This is a lovely, eclectic and creative little home in Nevada City. We only stayed overnight, but had everything we needed. Connie was a great host, and was really understanding and fair when our dog chewed a bit of doorframe. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Comfortable and spacious
Cottage was very comfortable and nice inside. Owner very responsive if you have any issue arise. Air conditioning didn't seem to work well but plenty of fans in the house. Walking distance to town if you don't mind a walk. We were very comfortable during our stay.

We enjoyed our stay very much. This is our second time staying in the house and we will be back!
The owner is very accommodating and hospitable and made it possible for us to stay one extra night. We will be back again for another family get away. The only suggestion we have is to add 1 big pot to the kitchen supplies to make cooking a little easier.

very "art full"! a delight to the senses.
it is a good location. take note: red dog rd. is busy. and yet the tranquil cemetery across the street is the perfect stroll with your pooch. also, "airconditioning" is a bit of a stretch here! the fans were helpful....the deck and the backyard seating need some tidying up!!
and yes......we did enjoy the house and our day trips and the town of Nevada city. SUSHI*****

Warm, welcoming, spacious and colorful
It's a very welcoming cottage with plenty of room internally. Very colorful but not overwhelming or distracting. We loved the fenced yard with Adirondack chairs - and our dog loved it too. It's a short drive to Nevada City. There is not a BBQ and the lighting is a little dark - but there are spot lights to brighten up areas. You should bring lots of spices and cooking oils if you plan to cook - there are good pots and pans, but not a lot of those cooking elements.

Cute cottage easy to find with convenient location and modern luxury.
We had a nice night here. The BBQ needs to be fixed or replaced the burners dont light right from rust. Owner oversight. The yard will be nice in the summer just needs a little more clean up from the winter. The jet tub in the master is great! The art is fun and the kitchen is great! I would stay again once the BBQ is up and running.

A Magical Getaway for Us
This is our third time to stay at the Art Cottage in Nevada City. The first stay was a gift from a friend who had stayed there previously and loved it. In reality it is too much space for the two of us as it will sleep four. Still we love it for it's magical, fantasy, artistic, creative ingenuity in design and layout. For us it's living in a different world for a few days. We'd like for it to be out own house actually. All the rooms have been imaginatively created and each is unique. There is wonderful original imaginative art in every room. There is a variety of music, (CD;s) unusual and unique books about art (as well as TV) provided which is enticing and makes one want to stay on to puruse, read and listen. On top of that is a good-sized deck where one can sit and read, enjoy the greenery or have coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch, or dinner if one so desries. Kitchen is well-equpped for preparing meals and which we did part of the time.
As far as Nevada City itself, it's a charming historical tourist town at this point. We came to participate in an annual band concert invitational sponsored by the Nevada County Concert Band. Besides that, while there, we attended a l performance of "Little Shop of Horrors" that was extraordinarily well done for a little theater group in all aspects - staging, music, acting. There's an overabundance of good restaurants to choose from, a great historical museum, a variety of shops to putter around in, Pioneer Park which has a swimminng pool at one end.
We had a happy time there both in and out of the cottage.

Good place and cool art
This place was interesting and it had cool art. We stayed here for a friend's wedding. The place was clean and I liked their shampoos. Dishwasher doesn't work but we didn't need it. It is also close to the downtown area.
