Upper level: second bedroom with queen, second full bath with step-in shower, loft with a queen bed.

Let your stress simply melt away while staying at Walk in the Clouds, a charming Boone NC log cabin rental situated in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Wildlife and plant life thrive here allowing you the opportunity to reconnect with nature while playing in the yard, taking a walk through the woods, or simply admiring the view from the back deck. From its quiet setting, to all the modern conveniences it offers, you will find no reason to leave this cabin, but even if you do, you are within fifteen minutes drive time of historic downtown Blowing Rock or Banner Elk NC, the Blue Ridge Parkway or Appalachian State University.
Enter Walk in the Clouds to find all the beauty of this cabin's surroundings echoed throughout the home with its classic mountain décor including hardwood floors, custom woodwork and comfortable furnishings. Through the front door you will find the modern kitchen fully equipped and ready for a memorable meal. It is complete with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a beautiful island with a custom wood top.

Continue inside and pass through the dining area open to the spacious living room with cathedral ceilings. Here is a perfect place to spend a rainy day or quiet evening on your mountain vacation. The focal point of this room is the unique wood hearth that surrounds the gas log fireplace. It is very apparent that comfort is the main theme. The living room also features a flat screen TV with a soundbar as well as Sling and Roku, BluRay player, and deck access. You will really feel at home here.

Off the side of the living room is a sliding glass door to a large covered deck. Exit onto the deck and the soaring stone fireplace will immediately catch your eye. The wood burning fireplace is ideal for the cool evenings here in the mountains and allows you to stay outside a touch longer before calling it a day. High top seating for 4, Adirondacks, a gas grill, rustic benches and a beautiful winter view through the trees enhance the appeal of the deck. Guests will also enjoy the relaxing hot tub!

Head back inside and to the right and you will find the master bedroom. It houses a king bed and has access to both a large closet and bath. The bathroom features an old timey claw tub, separate step-in shower and double vanity. This bath is private to the master bedroom, with a powder room available for the main living area.

Head upstairs to the loft open over the living room which has its own Roku TV and sitting area with a queen bed for extra sleeping arrangements. This large space is bright and sunny with all the custom windows, and don't miss the hand hewn beams in the cathedral ceilings overhead. Turn to the right and enter the upstairs bedroom. It continues the mountain theme with a queen bed with a rustic twig headboard and sidetables custom built for this home. This bedroom and the loft share access to the 2nd full bathroom, again with double vanity, easy step-in shower and great view through the custom windows. There's even a pack n play stored in the closet here, perfect for the littlest guest to use.

Walk in the Clouds is situated conveniently between Boone and Banner Elk NC close to many High Country attractions. A short drive away you will find Hebron Rock Colony, a nice day hike to a boulder filled stream. Also just down the road you will find the historic town of Valle Crucis which offers many activities from a trip to the Mast General Store to an afternoon in the park. The possibilities for your mountain vacation in the mountains of NC are endless.

This was the perfect place for me, my mother, my nephew, and my dog to spend a few days. Close to everything, clean, and surrounded by nature. What more could I ask for?

Peaceful retreat
It’s tucked away perfectly between Blowing Rock and Boone! If you have trouble seeing at night, I do recommend stocking up on groceries and taking advantage of the outside grill. The road in and out as basically one lane and no lights after dark.

A True Walk In The Clouds
This was our first ever winter vacation & mountain vacation. We drove 14 hours one way to get there. When we arrived we were in total awe at the beauty of the cabin & the views. Everything was perfect UNTIL we went to follow the instructions emailed to us on how to unlock & operate the hot tub on the balcony. We removed the cover & discovered that there was no water in it. We immediately contacted the leasing agency & were notified that the hot tub was not working. Not working, WHAT??? We looked at hundreds of rental properties & chose A Walk in the Clouds solely because of the hot tub & fireplace on the balcony. We understand that things break down but we were so disappointed that we weren't informed about the hot tub before arrival. The leasing agent said we should have received an email letting us know. Instead of that email, we received one with instructions on how to unlock the cover & how to use it. This property & our trip would've been five stars all the way but we were very upset & disappointed with the broke down hot tub. We will definitely be back to the mountains of North Carolina but I don't know if we would ever use Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals again because of this. We still had a great trip but my wife & kids were so bummed that we rented a property with a hot tub & weren't able to use it. So our overall rating of this property would be three stars whereas if the hot tub was working would've been a PERFECT rating. I hope the hot tub is repaired or replaced immediately so that future renters don't have their dream vacation dampered by this.

Maybe it was the timing
We booked this property 7-8 months in advance to attend Winterfest in Blowing Rock, NC. 2 days before check in we were notified the hot tub was not operating (a large reason we booked this property along with location). Correspondence with BRMR was really decent. They recommended some other properties with working hot tubs as replacement but we’re not as spacious or locationally preferred so we collectively agreed to keep our original booking. Outside of the other recommendations there was no other incentive/repayment/discount/refund offered. Upon arrival the cabin looked great from the outside but on the inside there were previous finger prints, hand prints on windows, and cup rings on surfaces, and a strange substance on the couch (maybe icing from a doughnut or cinnamon roll). We really wanted to enjoy and relax in this beautiful home but maybe our timing was off.

Hot tub not working. We weren’t told.
My wife loves hot tubs. We don’t rent a cabin unless it has one. Well the day before we left for this cabin, we got the email about the tub not functioning. It was too late to change cabins. When we arrived, it was obvious the tub had been broken for a while. And it wasn’t fixed while we were there. A man came by and said “That is shot. This is broken. They’re being delivered”. To be deceived like this is unprofessional. A business who cares about their customers wouldn’t do this. So before using Blue Ridge, ask if everything at their cabins is functioning correctly. Because they won’t tell you.

Wonderful Time
The cabin was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. It checked all our boxes; location, fenced-in area for the dogs, king bed on main floor, hot tub and covered deck with outside fireplace. We visited Grandfather Mountain, Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, Julian Price Park, Linn Cove Viaduct, Beech Mountain, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and the Mast Store in Valle Cruis. We will definitely return.

This is a beautiful and cozy cabin which is perfect to spend time away with your partner. We enjoyed a cold day watching the mountains and reading in front of the chimney .
