Gordy's Place—Pet and family-friendly Bar Harbor home minutes from Acadia

Gordy's Place is a newly built house just off Sand Point Road, about 9 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. Our family visited Acadia for 20 years and purchased this brand-new (2016) home. Newly added for summer 2024 are mini-split heat pumps for cooling throughout our home! We hope you love it - and Acadia - as much as we do!

In a quiet, new neighborhood, Gordy's Place is a pleasant retreat for your Bar Harbor/Acadia vacation. Enjoy the private patio area while BBQing in the wooded outdoors or warming your hands over the firepit after day of hiking and beaching. Just a 5 minute drive to the main entrance to Acadia National Park, just a 10 minute walk to where you can catch the free Island Explorer Bus. Walk to the water's edge in the quaint little village of Salisbury Cove. Lovely accommodations for your family and friends!

The 1500 sq. ft. house features a beautifully appointed living room, open kitchen with spacious island, dining room, and 1/2 bath on the first floor. There are 3 bedrooms (master king with en suite toilet/shower, queen, and a bedroom with two twins) on the second floor. There is also a full bathroom, and a bathroom with shower only (king en suite) on this floor. Hot water is on-demand. Heating is radiant through floors on the first floor and baseboard upstairs. Ceiling fans in king and queen bedrooms, floor fan in twin provide cooling.

Unlike many other homes for rent, this property is move-in ready. The owner provides all the necessary amenities for daily living, from paper towels to laundry detergent to tissues to shampoo, toothpaste... the list goes on. You won’t have to worry about forgetting anything in your luggage when you visit Gordy’s Place!

Amenities include dishwasher, washer/dryer, two TVs with cable, WIFI, charcoal BBQ grill, microwave, firepit, exercise area (stationary bike/light weights/yoga mat) and more.

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, boating, whale watching, canoeing (kayak and canoe tours), lake swimming, carriage road walks, horse back riding, wonderful dining, shopping, deep sea fishing! Visit "downtown", sail on the Margaret Todd, take a Jackson Lab visitors tour, enjoy tea and popovers at the historic Asticou Inn, golf at a PGA top-rated course, play tennis. Kids activities include water park, miniature golf, beaches, and lots of ice cream/dairy bars!

One dog ($150 fee) and additional dog ($100 fee) considered upon description of size and breed.

While we have always prided ourselves on the outstanding cleanliness of our home (see previous guest reviews) because of the increasing awareness of protocols to reduce the spread of viruses we have the following items in place to ensure and increase the safety of our home:

* Our home is thoroughly cleaned between guests with all our bed and bath linens changed and laundered. This includes shower curtain liners, mattress pads, and hypoallergenic pillow liners.
* All frequently used surfaces (I.e. door knobs, handles, light switches, etc.) are disinfected during weekly turnover cleaning between guests.
* We provide all our guests with a supply of disinfecting towelettes and hand sanitizer for their use during their stay.
* Our home is well stocked with laundry and cleaning supplies as well as paper products for your use.
