A block from city plaza, but a tucked away hidden & quiet gem with an acre of lush tropical grounds to relax in. This 4000 s.f. home has a spacious 20k gallon mermaid pool with a 9 foot deep end and a bubbling jacuzzi (not heated). Conveniently located next to the pool is a bathroom and an outdoor shower. The bar area has a sink, glasses, refrigerator, BBQ grill-gas and charcoal with smoker. This home is a lot larger than shown. Wooden floors and ceilings throughout. The front of the home is open air, with gentle breezes and ceiling fans in each room. Each bedroom has air conditioning. and ceiling fans with 15 foot ceilings. The Master suite has a luxurious queen size bed and an additional roll-out single bed. The Blue Oasis room has 2 luxurious queen beds and a high end bungee cord system cot available. Our Flamboyant room has two bunk beds twins over fulls and an additional high end cot. The home has 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and sleeps a total of 12 people. After a quick 6 minute drive you will arrive in Las Croabas and will have 3 of the most spectacular beaches to choose from. They are 7 Seas Beach, Playa Escondida and Playa Colorá. The Bio Bay and water taxis to Icacos island are also located in this area. After booking your stay contact us to book all of your tours including Catamarans to Icacos and Culebra for some of the best snorkeling around. The Hacienda is located 15 minutes from El Yunque rain forest and 20 minutes from the Culebra Ferry dock, 30 mins from Carabali 45 mins from Old San Juan. The Hacienda is centrally located close to all East Island attractions. If you are looking to enjoy one of our festivals located in the town plaza you are within walking distance. This property is breathtaking and awaiting your arrival.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The house had everything we needed and more. The pool was awesome, and the location of the property was great for everything we wanted to do, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, etc.

Sally was MORE THAN accommodating, great host. Our only issue, the floors were unsafe and there was deferred maintenance around the home. We were traveling with an older crowd, and we were very worried about walking on the floors. We ended up paying for two nights but only stayed for one. The outdoor area was beautiful.

Such a great stay! The property is beautiful and well kept. We had trouble with a leaking freezer (possibly bc of previous renters) and power outages, but the owner was right on top of it and had workers out to immediately kid both! Sally is awesome and a great host! Great location and safe place to stay. Great pool! I cannot highly recommend this place any higher!

Sally was an excellent host. Great communication and recommendations. The house is well-stocked with everything we could possibly need. I was especially grateful for the plastic containers we could use to take food with us to the beach. There isn't air conditioning in the main parts of the house, but the AC units in the bedrooms work very well and we slept quite comfortably. The large covered patio was great. We had dinner out there several times. The yard is beautiful and my family enjoyed the pool. The bathroom near the pool was very useful. The neighborhood is wonderful - safe and quiet and within walking distance to the town's main plaza. The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star rating is the condition of the floors in the house. There are several areas where the floor bends and buckles when stepped on. It was very surprising and unsettling.

Wonderful Stay in Farjado

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Sally’s house in Farjado with our 8 month old. The pool and outside area was perfect to enjoy while he was napping and we had everything we needed inside. Sally was a great host, sharing lots of ideas for things to check out in the area and answering any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

Best vacation to Puerto Rico ever

Everything about this property was fantastic! We all loved the property for so many reasons. The back yard was beautiful with bushes and foliage everywhere! We were very entertained with the chickens and geikos! The inside of the home was spotless and contained many interesting art pieces. All in all we were very satisfied and Sally is a great host. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent home base

We enjoyed our visit to Puerto Rico! The owner Sally was very communicative. The interior of the home is comfortable for our party of 6. Two of the bedrooms share a jack and Jill bathroom. The pool and patio area are exceptional and where we spent most of our time. The house is conveniently located near the marinas where most of our excursions were. The neighborhood is quiet and gated.

Great spring break 2021 vacation!!

We had an amazing stay in Fajardo! The location was perfect and the pool amazing! We had such a great time with our two families and kids - plenty of room for 9! The location felt safe and central to all kinds of family friendly activities! Sally is totally the hostess with the mostest! She was so helpful to us in planning our vacation and we are so grateful!

Fajardo Vacation

Great place for small events. Plenty of space for everyone and the swimming pool was a great plus. Close to the beach, seafood restaurants and water sport activities. Beautiful house, great host

This house was just what my family needed during our vacation in Puerto Rico. The rooms are big and the living areas are well decorated with useful and interesting touches. The host was very responsive to any questions and she left a cabinet full of helpful information for sights to see . The yard, outside area and pool are wonderful, too. We got to see an iguana and some other lizards hanging out in the yard. We had a great stay and would certainly stay here again in the future!

First time in Puerto Rico

We had such a great time at Sally’s place in Fajardo. It was the perfect location for the Bio Bay tour, snorkeling trip to Icocas and a chocolate tour near el Yunque. The house was a good size for our group and we made use of the pool every day. The air conditioners in the bedrooms were fantastic. Sally was very helpful and had great ideas for restaurants and excursions. Thank you!

This is a beautiful historic home that's clean and inviting. The pictures are accurate, and the backyard and pool area are the best. Sally made sure we had all the basics and more. The kitchen was very clean and stocked with dishes, cookware, and spices. The rooms and beds are spacious and comfy, and the bathrooms are stocked with body wash, shampoos, and other toiletries. Sally goes out of her way to make sure you have a great and comfortable stay. This place is a rare find as is the host she is truly delightful. We look forward to returning next year.

Beautiful home…great host!

Our stay was amazing! The house is located very conveniently with close proximity to several grocery stores, El Yunke Rainforest and Luquillo beach. It was also an easy drive to San Juan. The house itself has everything you need. The host, Sally, has thought of all the details! The little extras she had were really helpful. Such as extra shampoo, conditioner, suncreen, etc. The kitchen boasted many extras and any type of cooking accessory you would need! I was nervous at first about there not being AC in the main living space, and it does get hot out there. But the bedrooms get cold and stay cool! So that was not an issue at all.Sally was extremely communicative and responded to any question I had almost immediately. She is also very knowledgeable of the area as she is local and can give you great pointers on things to do in the area. If we ever go back to PR, we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Home - Excellent homebase

This is a gorgeous historic home. As a group of 2 families, with kids ranging from 8 yrs to 20 yrs, the pool and very large covered patio are where we spent most of our time. We really only ventured inside to sleep and prepare food - and for these activities we very much appreciated the AC in the bedrooms and the spacious and well stocked kitchen! The house is thoughtfully stocked with pool & bath towels, coffee, plenty of glassware and dishes, trash bags, and even dishwasher and washing machine detergent. The best amenity is by far Sally herself!! Sally was extremely helpful and a wonderful source of information and suggestions on things to do and see. She went very much above and beyond in helping us book outings and sending us links for El Yunque trails and specific beaches and grocery stores. Really just a joy to talk to and work with. Will definitely recommend!

Excellent multi-generational Family Vacation

We stayed at Sally’s place with a large group of 12 including grandparents all the way down to toddlers. Sleeping arrangements were a bit tight, although plenty of beds, but the property was otherwise perfect for spreading out into smaller groups when needed, but with communal spaces to hang together when desired. The pool and property were perfect for the kids and poolside patio for lounging for the adults while keeping an eye on the younger ones. The location was great- private, gated neighborhood centrally located, although not walkable to the beach, was a perfect launching point for our adventures. The kitchen was huge and great for preparing meals for a crowd, when needed. Sally responded quickly and efficiently to questions and resolved an initial issue with bedding quickly, but was otherwise unobtrusive and left us to enjoy our vacation to ourselves. She had great recommendations for outings/bookings but we never felt pressured to do any of those “extras.” If you’re looking for a comfortable space to launch a family vacation from, this was ideal.

Great Place - Easy to Recommend - Will Return

Easy to give a strong recommendation for this rental! The host is very responsive and very helpful in providing information about the house as well as helping coordinate with respect to other things you might need during the visit. The host went the extra mile for us because we had three children under age 2 staying with us. She had great connections in the community, including with chefs to come do a private dinner at the house (which was done for us outside - it was awesome!). The property was clean and had everything we needed for hanging out at the house and pool everyday! For families with young ones, the location felt safe and was fenced in so the little ones couldn't get off property. The pool was perfect size, the big yard was spacious and even though we were in a gated neighborhood, we felt like we were in our own oasis. Even got to see some cool wildlife come through like some lizards and iguanas (all of which were respectful of our space and we of theirs)! The little pool house had a shower and toilet which was super convenient. The gas grill was great for cooking local fresh snapper too! Also, the spacious covered patio with ceiling fans and lights was our main hangout location the entire trip, it was cool, shady, and a clean area for the kids to crawl around. Perfect for mid-large size groups with kids looking to explore the eastern side of PR! Would write more if VRB O let me - but this place was just perfect! Would definitely return!

Beautiful and quiet property!

The property is in a very quiet gated community. It is close to many bars, restaurants and eateries. We went to El Cayo several nights for dinner and they have the best Pina Coladas on the island (in our opinion). There was some confusion on the day of check in as we arrived quite late and didn't realize that when you type in the provided code on the keypad at the entrance, that you are actually calling someone so they can let open the gate. After that, things went smooth and we were provided a key fob for driving in and out. The house itself is historic and quite old. We were aware and appreciate the historic value of the home. The air conditioning in each bedroom works great and cools down the rooms quickly, but the other areas do not have air conditioning. That was fine with us as we spent most of our time outdoors in the beautiful pool. That area is spectucular and it was nice to use in our days when we needed to take a break from all the sightseeing/beach days. The kitchen has many necessary utensils, a regular coffee maker, blender, air fryer and small appliances. I had hoped to cook breakfast but could not find a decent pan/griddle to make pancakes; the electric griddle was broken and there other pans were not non-stick. Not all of the burners worked either. I wasn't planning on cooking a meal, so no biggie! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time!

We just returned from the most unforgettable 40th birthday weekend at Hacienda Azucar, and I truly cannot say enough about our host, Sally.From the moment we booked, Sally went above and beyond in ways we’ve never experienced with a vacation rental. She surprised me with cupcakes to help celebrate my birthday, purchased a brand-new TV so we could watch the Super Bowl, and even allowed us to set it up outside so our group of 10 could enjoy the game together. That level of thoughtfulness and flexibility is rare.She gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations, connected us with an amazing catamaran excursion, and even gave us a ride when we needed one. Every detail felt intentional and generous.The home itself was perfect for our group — beautiful, comfortable, and ideal for a celebratory weekend with friends. But what truly made the experience exceptional was Sally. We arrived as guests and left feeling like we had made a friend on the island.If you’re considering Hacienda Azucar, book it. You will not regret it.

Beautiful Oasis

This historical hacienda was very private, comfortable and charming!The pool and terrace were amazing surrounded by tropical vegetation!My husband and I, as well as family members, had a very nice time!Sally was available every time I had a question. The location was close to everything and the gated community made us feel very safe! I definitely would visit this historical hacienda again! We found it lovely!

Nice holiday getaway

We had a nice time. The house could use new floors, but the backyard made up for any shortcomings inside. AC was only in the bedrooms, but it was cool enough with the windows open that we didn't need it. Besides, we spent all of out "at home" time on the back porch. Great central location. Easy access to grocery, docks, restaurants, and rain forest. Less than 10 minutes from whatever you could need. There wasn't a "house rules" book like we are used to, so we weren't sure what to do before we left (trash, laundry-towels, dishes, etc...). Sally did text to tell us where to put the trash on our last morning. Just FYI...pin the house with GPS location. Addresses get you no where in Puerto Rico. We were lost for 2 1/2 hours trying to find the house using the address. We were less 5 minutes from it, but kept going to the wrong "Calle 3"s.

Why they chose this property

This home was built by an American architect and has a east coast plantation feel. I purchased it because of its perfect location. It is 8 minutes from the most beautiful beaches including two hidden beaches and our bio bay, Laguna Grande. It is 15 minutes from the ferry that takes you to both the island of Culebra and Vieques and 15 minutes from El Yunque Rain Forest. This house is also 12 minutes from the Luquillo kioskos which are a strip of restaurants and souvenir shops along the Luquillo beach.

What makes this property unique

This house is very unique for Puerto Rico. Most homes here have tile floors, but this home has beautiful wooden floors throughout. It is also unique in that it is not only in a quiet gated community, but has a huge pool that is within a walled property offering complete privacy.
