We really liked this updated cottage. It had everything you could need at a home away from home. Just a five minute walk to the lake and 25 minutes from Asheville. Several cool breweries in the area. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable.
Jimmy and Beth were great hosts! Super cute house! Just a couple of minutes to the town of Black Mountain, lots of places to eat, and cute little shops! We would definitely stay here again!
My wife and I stayed at the cottage for the month of September and absolutely loved it. Great location on a quiet street, a short walk to Lake Tomahawk and less than a mile to downtown on quiet, tree lined streets. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. There's a huge backyard and a really comfortable front porch. The owner was very accessible and there's a ton of hiking, biking, shops and great food very close by. Black Mountain is a beautiful place.
Great location near Lake Tomohawk, quiet neighborhood & convenient to downtown Black Mt & I-40 & 70. We are short women so reaching for dishes on high shelves was tough. A reading lamp near couch would be nice. Thanks for letting us rent your home.
It is such a lovely property in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. The creek on the side of the house sounds amazing at night. I love Black Moutian and iwith the property being so close to downtown makes it iideal.OR you can take off for the day to see the mountains or art in Ashville. We went a little further this time and found my family's family trees. Perfect trip. Chilly but perfect. Thank you for such a welcoming home to wake up, hang out and come home to.
Overall, we had a great stay. The door lock is a bit tricky to open, but clear instructions were provided. The property is in a somewhat questionable neighborhood, but just a few blocks from the rental is a small beautiful lake and beautiful homes/neighborhood with a walking path. We loved Black Mountain!!! Even preferred it over Asheville. Quaint, yet had great restaurants, shops and beautiful scenery. The rental was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. We would recommend a curtain/shade on the front door.
Nice, clean place for our family to stay while visiting the Asheville area. Small but worked well for our family of 4. We liked having the lake and town of Black Mountain nearby. We enjoyed ping pong in the basement.
The property is as described and then much more. Extremely clean, very nice bedding, linens, cookware and appliances. Everything that you need to feel that you are at home away from home. The owner has put a lot of time and attention into this property and everything is well marked and organized. This property receives 10 stars in my travel book!
This was the best VRBO we have stayed in! The owners thought of everything. Even though there is only one bathroom, they have thoughtfully placed mirrors with nearby outlets so 3 women can get ready for the day simultaneously. The washer and dryer was super helpful and the kitchen had everything we needed. The home is super clean and new. All the owner recommendations were spot on. We ate at the Trailhead, My Father’s Pizza, and the biscuit place in town. All delicious! We did recommended hikes in Montreat and also went to Chimney Rock State Park, visited Lake Lure and Hendersonville and did the triple falls hike near Brevard. Sunday we went to church at a chapel in Montreat where Billy Graham and his wife were married. This VRBO is in the perfect spot for exploring the area. We walked around downtown Black Mountain and Lake Tomahawk every day. It was a fantastic vacation for our family. (Me, my husband and 2 college aged daughters.) If you guys ever want to sell… :)
Everything about this location was exactly as described, pictured, and promised. I can't say enough to describe how pleased I was with this Cottage. We went to the Biltmore, Mount Mitchell, an Asheville ghost tour, hiked to lookout mountain, and hiked to Catawba Falls. The falls hike was easy. Lookout mountain was medium to difficult, harder than I had expected. If you are wanting to see the nice overlook, don't give up but go all the way to the top. If you're coming from the backside which is less strenuous) don't go past the second peak. The view from The Overlook was spectacular. Again, kudos for the cottage and the host!!
