We loved this cute little tiny house retreat in Maine. We stayed here to visit the Acadia National Park and loved staying here on the quiet side of the island. The grounds were quiet and it was easy to come in and out as we pleased.

Tiny House Precipice

Would of liked to stay in a yurt/but we just happened ontothis VRBO and were fortunate to grab a cancellation timeslot. Ended up loving the spot. Seemed more secluded then the yurts. The owners thought of everything.(except a bathroom sink, but the kitchen sink is fine. Bed was comfortable. And the community sharing at the red barn was another thoughtful plus to the property. Great location for exploring the Acadia area. Book it ! You won't regret it.

Cutest and comfiest tiny house!!

My partner and I LOVED our stay at Acadia Yurts!! It was the perfect place to have as a home base as we spent the week hiking and exploring the towns around us, perfectly quiet and peaceful which allowed us to very comfortably recharge. The tiny house we stayed in for the week was extremely clean and the hosts were super accommodating and responsive. The property really made our trip perfect, we are so grateful!

Tiny bit of paradise

My husband and I stayed in the precipice tiny house. It had everything we needed for a comfortable week’s stay. The bed was comfortable, shower nice and hot, and the shelving and baskets throughout provided ample space for all of our things. Loved the location! If you’re going to Acadia, stay here. Wonderful hosts!

Nice secluded tiny spot

Bigger than a hotel room, smaller than a studio, surrounded by trees and steps from Acadia National Park. Enough said!

Acadia Yurts TINY House

We loved the Tiny house. A quite location next to the East area of Acadia NP yet close to SW Harbor (a few minutes by car). Aaron and Karen were incredibly responsive and also helpful to tell us about the “lesser known” spots and trails within the park.

Cutest tiny house

We absolutely loved our stay in the Precipice Tiny House- we would 100% recommend this to anyone and would love to come back when we’re back to visit Acadia and Bar Harbor. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful and checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well. Thank you Karen for an awesome experience!

Wonderful! Great location. Clean, comfortable and quiet

Loved the wellness center. Float was a great experience! Very nice having the barn with extras other guest left to help with what you forgot. Didn't miss the tv but a sharable microwave would have been nice.

The Cutest!!

I absolutely loved my stay in the Tiny House and in this adorable community on the Quiet Side. It was exactly the experience I was looking for. The amenities were beautiful, practical, well equipped, and quality. Hiking and biking was so much fun! And the spa facilities at Acadia Yurts were amazing! Loved every minute of my adventure!

Great "Little" Getaway

I'm a regular at Acadia most summers and was looking to stay a few extra days and to my surprise found Acadia Yurts. I loved it! It was also my first time doing a float, which to my surprise, was extremely relaxing. Not to mention the great conversation I had with Aaron in the process! I look forward to returning at a future time!

Great getaway

The property is beautiful and the tiny house was perfect for our stay! We booked both tiny houses for 4 friends on a trip to Maine to visit the Acadia National Park. The hosts were great with communication. There is a wellness center for activities (we didn't use, but loved that it was an option), a communal fire pit (we had a bonfire for 2 nights & met other travellers), and a community barn/shack for supplies (we made use of stuff in there and contributed to it too). The tiny house was equipped with all the amenities we would need for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again, perhaps in a yurt on our next visit!

Cozy getaway

Great place to stay, the tiny house was clean, had all the amenities you need for a vacation and more, property was quiet and well maintained. Bar Harbor was only about 30 mins away and other hiking trails and recreational activities were even closer! WiFi and cell service (we have T-Mobile) were both pretty spotty, so if you HAVE to be connected for some reason, that may be a drawback. But there’s plenty to do and it’s a great opportunity to disconnect and spend time with family and get outside, so wasn’t important to us. Overall great place to stay on a beautiful property far enough away from touristy stuff to be quiet and relaxing, yet close enough to be able to have full days of exploration!

Living large in a tiny house!

Loved the experience we had at Acadia Yurts. We stayed in a tiny house and it was perfect for the two of us. Well equipped and comfortable furnishings. My only complaint was getting in/out of the bed as both sides were against the walls. Was awkward, but not a deal breaker. Probably the best shower I’ve ever had! Aaron checked in with us a couple of times and was very responsive. We liked being away from the hustle/bustle of Bar Harbor. Discovered a local restaurant called “eat a pita” which we went to twice. Delish!. Highly recommend Acadia Yurts!

About the host

Host profile image
Aaron is an Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for the past 15+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite.

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home- running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We deeply hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!!
