Lakefront, sunsets, dock slide and more at Heron House!

Heron House has everything you and your family will need to make a memorable vacation. The house is located on a dead end street, in a quiet cove a stones toss from the water, you can wake up and practically fall right in!

When entering the home you will be welcomed by high ceilings, an open layout, electric fireplace, an abundance of windows with views of the water and the two story dock.

Kayak or paddleboard around the end of cove to catch the sunrise in the morning, enjoy swimming, the dock slide, eating lunch under the covered pergola, relax with a cocktail from the 2nd story of the dock while the sun is setting and finish up with smores around the fire and some good ol' fashioned cornhole in the evening.

The primary bedroom and bathroom with double sink and walk-in shower is located on the first floor. All bedrooms and living room have wall-mounted tvs. Fully equipped kitchen.

Bring your clothes, your toothbrush and be prepared to have a fantastic time at Heron House! Maybe you'll cross paths with our neighbor, Herbert, the great blue heron!

From Memorial Day through Labor Day our stays run Saturday to Saturday, requiring a 7 night minimum. For shorter stays during the in-season, we may be able to accommodate at an increased nightly rate. We're open to monthly rentals in the off-season.

Heron House is located on the Denver side of Lake Norman, "the Denver of the East." Known for it's small town vibe yet in the fun stages of growth, you'll find everything you need is within 10 mins from the house. We will provide you with a list of quaint restaurants, grocery stores and fun things to do nearby. Hopefully you'll spend most of your time relaxing, enjoying the lake and sunshine at the house. Keep an eye out for the Osprey nest with mom, dad and babies, visible from the end of the driveway!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the Heron House. Everything was provided from linens to towels to beach towels to kayaks and paddle boards to paper towels and toilet paper! Simple check in and check out process. We had four adults and 6 kids and it was perfect for us!

Relaxing retreat

This was an amazing vacation spot for extended family. It was fully stocked with everything we needed, even down to high chair. The kids loved the available kayaks and SUP. Great House in a Great Location

Monique and Derek were great hosts and their house was even better in person! Very clean, large rooms, fully stocked kitchen and living areas with plenty of seating. The kids loved the dock slide and having the boat lift made docking really easy. The house is in a quiet area of the lake, so it is great for small children. Restaurants and grocery stores all within 5 minutes. A great place to relax and enjoy lake life!

We had the most amazing week. The house was Spotlessly clean. Our family spent a lot of time n the kayaks and paddle boards. The ping pong table was great. The house had plenty of areas to sit and relax or read. The location is far enough removed to feel like you’ve escaped real life, but was close enough to town to be able to make a quick run to the store. It is obvious that a lot of thought was put into the comfort and entertainment of those who rent the house. The hosts were available whenever we had a question. We will be back.

Girls’ Trip

This location is amazing. My friends and I are adding this home to our annual Girls’ Trip. Monique and Derek were great hosts. Anything we needed or any question that we had, they were quick to respond. My friends and I are germaphobes. Immediately upon walking into the home, we felt the cleanliness. We were comfortable enough not to go through our standard disinfecting routine because it felt, looked, and smelled that clean. The lake view is amazing. Monique (the host) greeted us shortly after arrival. She showed us everything we needed to know about the home and gorgeous 2 story dock. Family Getaway

This property was top-notch. Monique and Derek have thought of everything and then some. The house was clean, warm, and inviting. We have rented lake homes before but never have they been this beautiful. The amenities were amazing, from corn hole, kayaks, paddleboards and a Ping Pong Table. The kids were entertained the whole time.We spent our days on the water and evenings gathered on their dining room table playing cards. Most importantly they were so responsive to our questions. We had such a great time at Heron House! Derek and Monique are amazing and are available to answer questions or help in any way. The house itself is beautiful, but the location on the lake is the real benefit! Tip of a cove, great for swimming. All the kids tried out the paddle boards and they were a hit! Kitchen is well stocked and the pantry is a huge help for a group. The pergola seating area just outside the house is great for relaxing after a day on the lake. You will not be disappointed staying here. Boat ramp is less than 10 minutes away as well. Great vacation!

They thought of everything!

The house is beautiful, sleeps a family very comfortably and is in an absolutely gorgeous location! Monique and Derek thought of everything. In other vacation rentals we've stayed at our family has had to go to a store immediately after arriving to get hand soap, napkins/paper towels, etc. They have it covered at this house! The outdoor activities are great for all ages including kayaks and paddleboards. The second story deck is an amazing space as well. It's definitely a place we will return to again!

Perfect family get-away!

I cannot recommend this vacation home more highly! The house itself with all of its' amenities, is more than enough to help you enjoy a fun and relaxing lakeside vacation. All of the surrounding activities that there are to enjoy are just a bonus. The house is exactly as stated, with enough room for everyone to spread out, but also encourages gathering - in the living room, by the backyard firepit, playing ping-pong in the gameroom, or relaxing on the floating dock. Monique and Derek are the most perfect of hosts! They are nearby to help with anything that you need! We shall definitely be returning to Heron House for many years to come, and would not hesitate to recommend this vacation home to any of our friends and family.
