Stay your Way, Hatteras Island family friendly relaxing beach retreat.

Turtle Pond is a Salvo Village oceanside family favorite with 3 bedrooms, a spacious yard, and an open floor plan. Four steps up and you are under a large covered porch at the front of the house. Behind the house is a 2 acre freshwater pond where plenty of birds and turtles can be seen, a favorite pastime of the family.
The home is less than 175 yards from the beach where you can see the remains of a civil war steam boat, and less than 2 miles to the Salvo Day Use Area and Off-Road Vehicle Ramps. The Salvo day Use Area is a favorite for beach activities. such as kayaking, fishing, kite surfing, paddle boarding and swimming.

The front covered porch includes a gas grill and seating for 6. A mini side porch offers a convenient outside shower with additional entry into the laundry room. A boardwalk connects the front and side porches. When you enter the home, you are greeted by the great room with coastal decor and beautiful vaulted ceilings. Relax on the cozy couches and watch your favorite show on the 48" Smart TV with a DVD player. Off the back of the Great Room is the Bonus sunroom with additional seating to enjoy the pond views and a Smart Tv. Head towards the kitchen to access the large dining table that seats 8. The sizeable Kitchen offers plenty of counter space, updated appliances, and extensive cookware.

Bedroom #1 is furnished with a Queen Bed, flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with double sinks. Bedroom #2 is furnished with a Queen Bed and a flat screen TV. Bedroom #3 is furnished with 2 twin bunk beds. The hose sleeps 8 adults comfortably. A pack and play, high chair and children's toys are located in Bedroom #3's closet.

Turtle pond is a Stay you Way rental. Stay a minimum of 3 nights or as long as you want.
We do not accept pets.
You will receive a separate rental agreement. Please read, sign and return.

2023 Family Vacation

Beautiful house with plenty of room for our whole family. Large kitchen and dining area. Covered front porch was great for family bonding and a great place to get ready for the beach. The only thing we wish would have been different was that the grass was very tall and still remained untouched when we left. Overall, would stay again!

OBX Week

The property was great. We didn't realize that you had to bring your own sheets and towels. Owner got us set for the first night and we got our own for the later days. The house is close to the ocean and short drive to Salvo day use area. House had everything for cooking.

My wife and I live in Virginia. We have 6 children and numerous grand and great children. We have always loved the Outer Banks so when this property came available we snatched it. It's been a journey of blood, sweat and tears. We gutted the house down to the studs and even moved some of them. The whole family have worked hard to completely remodel what you see today, even replacing the duct work which required getting down and dirty with the underside of the house. All the outside decks have been replaced and a boardwalk added. Future plans include adding a fish cleaning station.
We hope you enjoy this house as much as the family and I do.

This property offers wide sandy beaches with just a 5 minute walk or sound front access under a 1/2 mile down the road.
It also has a unique feature, Turtle Pond where native wildlife can be observed through out the day.
