Our getaway home is located near the NH white mountains, Kancamagus Highway/Swift River, just 10 minutes from the Fryeburg Fair grounds. There is a public canoe/kayak launch just 1 mile from the house. Other nearby attractions include Bridgton, ME, and four ski resorts: Shawnee Peak, Cranmore and King Pine (20 minutes) and Attitash (40 minutes). North Conway, NH outlet shopping also 20 minutes away. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with DW, microwave and all small appliances. Laundry with W/D. TV with DVD and VCR. Telephone with free local calls. Deck and insulated pine sun room has 2 twin day bed to sleep 2 in addition to the 1 queen master BR and 2 twin BR. Master BR has 3/4 bath with tile floor. DR/kitchen seats 6 and has large counter for food prep with 2 bar stools. Private dead end road with only 2 other homes. Wooded 2 1/2 acre lot with view of Burnt Meadow Mountain in the winter. Guests are expected to provide their own linens, towels, and blankets. Cleaning fee included in rental fee. Interior of house is a NON-SMOKING environment. No Pets. Pine sunroom doubles as a 3rd BR with a two twin daybed.
Surrounding area: The house is on a private graded dirt road shared by just two other residences so is very quiet and peaceful. An All or 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended in the winter due to the slight incline. Driveway plowed after or during each snowfall. The setting is 2 1/2 acres of woods. In the winter there is a view of Burnt Meadow Mountain from the sun room (trees in the summer and fall) with beautiful sunsets.
We are just 10 minutes from Bridgton, ME, 40 minutes from Kancamagus Highway entrance, 20 minutes from N. Conway and outlet shopping, 10 minutes from Fryeburg, ME, 40 minutes from Attitash and Storyland. Nearest Ski areas are King Pine (also has tubing and skating), Shawnee Peak, and Cranmore (all within 20-30 minutes).
There is a public kayak/canoe launch on the Saco River1 mile from the house.
We recommend a day trip to the White Mountains National Forest (Kancamagus Highway off Route 16) and stops along the way on the many hiking trails and swimming/picnic at the Lower Falls area.
Home away from Home: We have provided most kitchen equipment to enhance your stay including: espresso/cappuccino frother, waffle maker, egg beater, blender, toaster.
Washer and dryer.
Toilet paper, paper towels, napkins provided.
Day bed with 2 twins can sleep up to two extra persons at $50 each per stay. Please NO sleeping on the couch or love seat in the living room.

Feel free to read our books and play board games and cards. We ask that you put them back the way you found them so that others can enjoy them.
Charcoal grill provided. Guests supply own charcoal. Please empty burnt coal in metal trash can. Grilling equipment provided.
Leaf Peepers, Birdwatchers, Kayakers and Hikers: So much natural beauty nearby. Covered bridges 30 minutes away. The fall is colorful looking out on woods. The Saco River is great for kayaking/canoing and there are several rental places nearby. Shawnee Peak and King Pine are great for novice and non-competitive skiers. King Pine and Cranmore have special afternoon or night skiing package rates. Snow tubing at Cranmore and King Pine and ice skating rink at King Pine.

About the host
Hosted by Noreen Thompsen
Grew up near the Utah (him) and NH (her) mountains and missed them when we moved to Cape Cod. Needed to have a little getaway near the Swift River and ('Kank') and King Pine where our kids learned to ski & skate and we got back into it.
Why they chose this property
Loved the quiet rural feel of this house where you can hear deer and wild turkeys walking through the woods at night NO TRAFFIC noise.
The birds also love our bird feeders and hang out on the front deck and back patio.

What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the pine walls and beams and when the builder we hired to add the pine sunroom suggested we do a pine ceiling in there too we thought he was brilliant! Walking in 2 + acres the woods behind the house also gives a great dose of nature.
