Heather was incredibly communicative and helpful, and the property is gorgeous! Perfectly located for visits to Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey Bay. Super super cozy cabin, it was a great way to unwind.
This was our favorite vacation rental to date. The cottage has everything one could need and those outdoor bathtubs were the coolest experience. Great location for seeing the coast and valley. Ten stars!!
We had a wonderful four nights stay at Heather‘s cabin in the hills of Carmel Valley. First of all Heather and Micheal are excellent hosts, providing great recommendations and thoughtful communication throughout our stay. The property is beautiful, with stunning views, a cozy fireplace comfy bed, kitchenette that was ideal for simple meals, and two outdoor tubs that were my favorite part of each day.It was like a private retreat and perfect in every way for our anniversary celebration.
Quiet, solitude immersed in the oaks and unspoiled nature. Central location for beach, hiking and contemplation.A refuge to get away from the rat race.
This was a perfect location away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to all great things in the area. We would choose this rental again and again. It was delightful in every way.
Everything was perfect! We wanted a private, quiet getaway near the beach and we got it. The views are spectacular, the cabin was cozy and had everything we needed, and the hosts were so friendly and responsive to messages. Would definitely return.
The cabin was a little piece of heaven! So peaceful, beautiful, restful and private. Soaking in the tub on the deck with the birds and hawks flying by was restorative. Yes the private driveway could be a challenge for some, but I have driven in countries like Ireland with equally narrow roads that were public, where as this driveway is private, steep with a few switchbacks. There's good shoulders, it's paved, nothing that felt unsafe, you drop it into low and go slow, super easy. Heather and Michael were attentive and available when needed. Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with me. I hope to return again someday.
We had a great stay at the forest cabin. The cabin is a perfect home-base for visiting Monterey, Carmel, Carmel Valley, and Big Sur. And the views from the cabin windows and porch overlooking the valley are amazing. Would definitely stay here again. The description of the listing is accurate; and importantly points out the steep/windy road, no stove/oven, no inside shower (only a bathtub), and Chemex pour-over coffee (no other coffee maker/machine). Some other notes:There are several stairs (not too steep) down to the property from the parking area, so you will have to carry your luggage. There are no spices, condiments, etc. in the kitchen; so bring your own coffee creamer, sugar, oil, etc. if you plan on eating at the cabin. There were paper towels, some tea, plates, bowls, cups, and plenty of utensils. The mini-fridge does have a small freezer with ice trays. Heather was nice enough to fill the ice trays for us before we arrived, but I don't believe she does that normally. We could not get the TV screen mirroring to work from our iphone or tablet, but the TV does come with Netflix and Prime loaded. We did not see any way to access other TV or cable channels. As shower-people, we had a hard time taking baths inside without wetting the bathroom floor. There is an outside private shower with hot water that worked great as an alternative.Heather was an excellent host and responded almost instantly to any questions that we had.
Can't say enough good things about this place! For us Midwestern flatlanders, the steep and winding drive up the mountain was a tad intimidating. But the view up there! My God. The pictures don't do it justice. It's like a big 3D painting of a beautiful and lush green valley spread out all before you. Best of all, you can look out at all this from a giant old clawfoot bathtub on your own private deck. The place was clean with a super comfortable bed. Overall, it was just the secluded and peaceful retreat we were looking for and the setting for one of my favorite vacations of all time. P.S., try Jeffrey's down the road for breakfast. Delicious!
This studio property in the hills of Carmel Valley has plenty of space for two, great views of the valley and is secluded but close to Carmel, Monterey and Big Sur. We were able to come back to the cabin after a busy day and relax.
This inviting cabin, perched on a hillside with beautiful views felt like taking a break from the world, which is exactly what my husband and I were looking for. The space was clean, peaceful, with a very comfortable bed and everything we needed. The tubs on the deck were a HUGE bonus!! Heather provided us with a list of restaurants and hikes, a few of which we visited, but never wanted to leave the cabin, and were always happy to return. Thank you for the wonderful stay.
One one my favorite stays. Windows overlook the valley as you lay in a very comfortable bed. Winter is lovely with a fire. Really enjoyed all the decor that was carefully curated and your taste in books! Bath time was also my favorite. All the right things in all the right places just at an arms length. The extra time to drive up the road was also a bonus because its worth it. The best sleep I've had in a long time. Do yourself a favor and have some morning coffee or yoga outside of the kitchen door! >Love<
I write accurate reviews and I count on others to do the same when I'm making choices. We absolutely loved this cabin and the hosts. Accurate, truthful descriptions (thankfully!). No pictures that were "just the right camera angle" (thankfully!). It seriously was a great experience start to finish. Highly recommended.
