This waterfront house has a breathtaking view of the sound as it sits high on a dune overlooking the sound. Just relax on the private pier. The sunsets are fabulous!
The house has 3 bedrooms and / 2 baths with a total 3 queen beds and 1 twin bed. Dining table sits 8, plus 2 bar stools. It's located in the private gated community with a huge community soundfront pool, beach, marina with a boat launch and a covered picnic area!
Go for a kayak paddle and explore the wildlife in and around the sound. Fishing is great off your own private pier as well as crabbing. Two kayaks are provided.

The view is great to watch sunsets! My husband and son enjoyed fishing off the dock right behind the house. Also, the community pool is very nice. The house is stocked well with cooking utensils, which was great for our group as we ate in a lot.

There needs to be some safety issues addressed especially if you have little ones. The outdoor staircase railing is very loose and not up to code. There is no balusters on one side of the staircase exposing a fall risk as the steps are very sloped to one side. I would advise the owner to address this issue very quickly. Other than this the property was very nice! Great neighborhood with much peace and quiet..

This was our first time to Kill Devil Hills and the area. Z was so nice and let us check in early. The house was very clean and the view was just breathe taking. The sunrise and sunsets were just Amazing.! This house is an older home that has it's own boat dock and has 2 kayaks and some fishing/crabbing gear. This is in a gated community and has a community pool about a 10 minute walk from the house. The beach access is across the street from where you turn to go to the Colington Harbour about 15-20 minutes drive. The house is a one bedroom and 1 full bath downstairs and a walk- in shower upstairs with2 bedrooms. The laundry room is outside and downstairs. The house needs some updates. The central air was installed 2 years ago but it was really hot upstairs. It's good for young people but with all the stairs, I wouldn't recommend it for small children or older folks. The boat dock needs redone to make it safer. It was awesome to watch the fireworks from the deck. I have a few pictures but the app wouldn't let me upload them.

Thank you for your detailed review. During our conversation, you said the boat dock uses nails not screws for the deck boards and you thought this would be a safety issue. However, using galvanized nails for the deck boards is a standard practice in this coastal area. There is no safety issue for this.

A great location for a vacation

We really enjoyed this house. The view of the sound is outstanding, and it was very enjoyable to take the kayaks out and go into the nearby canals. This property is excellent for a family wanting to relax and visit the surrounding areas. Very enjoyable stay.

Great weekend getaway

Very clean, quiet and comfortable house to get away for the weekend. Caught crabs off the dock, went to the beach just minutes away and had a nice selection of restaurants in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay, Z was a great host. We saw beautiful sunsets and loved being able to sit outside and to enjoy the view. We loved the big porch upstairs, we always had breakfast and planned our day on the porch. The house was clean and we loved the location.

We had a wonderful stay! My kids had a blast fishing and crabbing everyday off the dock! A very nice community. We walked to the pool a couple times. And drove into town to go to the ocean a few times as well. Driveway was a little challenging to navigate but nothing that would keep me from staying again!! Awesome place with awesome sound/sunset views!

Lovely OBX stay…

We loved this property in Colington Harbor - perfect for our family visiting. Sure it is an older property but it’s clean and functional and has pretty much everything you might need (other than bath towels and shower gel). Great to be able to get out in the kayaks (plenty of life jackets provided) although the ladder from the pontoon is not for the faint-hearted! Sun room was a fantastic place to eat and look out at the water.

The views from the house of the sunset and the sound are gorgeous! The rooms were spacious and had all the basic needs of a home! Also a great community pool to walk too! The owners were great at communicating! We enjoyed are stay!

Cute house with awesome view

We really enjoyed our visit. The house is older but was clean and had an amazing sunroom. The pier was nice and hammock was enjoyable. The host checked in several times making sure all was good. My nephew road his bike around the neighborhood and had a great time. We would definitely consider this house for a future stay.

Amazing view

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, the house is very cozy and we absolutely enjoyed the sound view and the awesome daily sunsets. The dock is a major plus for fishing and crabbing! The house is well-stocked with necessities and we are grateful for the (extra) beach chairs. We enjoyed our week-long vacation in OBX!
