Serendipity is a well equipped, beautifully appointed mountain cabin. Just across the Georgia line it offers the beauty and opportunity found in both states! Serendipity features a welcoming front porch and a large gracious back porch. The home has a spacious great room which has a queen size sofa sleeper and a sunroom. The master has king size bed and other 2 feature queen size beds. The master bedroom is on the main floor with a private bathroom and the two upstairs bedrooms share a Jack-n-Jill full bath. One of the upstairs bedrooms has a small deck that faces a massive rock wall that stuns the senses with its wild beauty!
The spacious kitchen in this mountain getaway is fully equipped; Serendipity also includes a fireplace (at this time cannot be used until tile is put on the floor thanks to the insurance company sorry), a washer and dryer. There is no tv service there but there is lots of DVD and VCR movies there.
**Please note that Serendipity is not handicapped accessible. There are stairs to enter the home and a second floor that is accessed by stairs.
***Also note: Verizon cell and Cricket service works well at Serendipity and we do have limited wifi now but it is slow due to location, but hey let's unplug and enjoy nature! When you check in and it does not work please unplug and plug back in and you should be good to go.
The roads going up to the house have several switchbacks. It is a one lane gravel road with some pull offs if you come up to another car. 10 mph speed limit

We had an amazing trip that needed great accommodations just like home and this was the one! The property owners were always a nessage away, and promptly replied. Our stay needed to be extended , and they were glad to accommodate our needs. The fire put and s.ores welocoming basket ws a hit!!!
I recently planned a nice quiet getaway for my partner's birthday 1/31 to 2/2. I booked this cabin because of the coziness and hearth that seemed to offer in pictures that were posted. When my party and I arrived, we felt at home immediately. Cindy was a superhost and texted me to check on us. We hiked, barbequed, and shopped at the local shops (which were awesome and the local people were nice too). My party had a total of 7 people and the cabin comfortably accommodated all of us. We will definitely book again soon!
This rental was perfect for a few friends meeting up to catch up and hang out. The hosts were very accomodating and the rental was perfect. We slept 3, but could have easily doubled that number if needed. The rental was cozy, but had plent of room. We enjoyed the front and back porch, making a fire, and we played video games in the tv "nook." The kitchen was great as we did some light cooking. We did not use the grill outside, but it would have been very easy to use.
All in all, I would highly recommend this rental and the price was excellent. If we return to this area again, we will look at this property first and foremost.
This would be an excellent option for 1 or 2 families to get together, a smaller family holiday, or even as a vacation spot.
This was a last minute booking on our part and Cindy was very communicative and accommodating from the moment we booked it. She called to let us know of any issues we might have in advance. The decor and setting of the cabin was exactly what we hoped it would be-- a warm, cozy and quiet place where we could unplug. We mostly spent our days hiking in the mountains and came back to the cabin each night too tired to do much other than shower and sleep. The main surfaces and center walkways had been cleaned and all the bathroom fixtures were very clean, but there were a lot of cobwebs and loose dirt in the corners/under furniture. It wasn't a huge deal to us but that's my reason for only giving 3 stars on the cleaning. All that said, this cabin is a very special place. We only managed to have a fire on one night and looking back wished we had done one every night. There was a beautiful rock wall behind the cabin with a trickling waterfall. It felt quite magical with a fire going in the fire pit. All in all this cabin was just what we needed and we had a lovely vacation!
Communication with host was great! The AC was not working. Host was very apologetic and refunded one night. Overall, the cabin was clean. My 2 star rating was based on the amount of hairs(4) found in downstairs sheets when going to bed the first night. I’m bald so they weren’t mine. Not sure if the sheets didn’t get changed or if they belonged to the housekeeper and fell out while making the bed.
Cabin was very convenient to what we wanted to do. Would consider staying here again but would bring my own bedding.
The setting is beautiful and feels very peaceful. Front and back porches are perfect for your morning cup of coffee or evening book reading. The house has all the comforts of home. Plenty of room for seven of us without feeling cramped. Having two bathrooms is very nice for a larger group. Owners very accessible and very responsive.
This cabin was everything we could have hoped for and more! Booking and communication was top notch. The cabin has incredible winter/early spring views from the front and back porch. Close to many great hikes, shops, and wineries. We felt relaxed from the moment we walked in. Can't wait for a return visit!
This little serendipitous cottage was absolutely delightful. The owners were immediately responsive to any questions and VERY accommodating. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again if in the area.
Our cabin was so awesome! It was conveniently located close to the places we wanted to tour. Although our excursions were full of fun, it was a blessing every night to pull in to our driveway and see our welcome lights on. The cabin had pretty much everything we might need to prepare our own meals and feed lots of hungry young adults and teens! There were plenty of sleeping areas to accommodate everyone! I would absolutely book this cabin again the next time we vacation in that area!!
loved the location was great. the house was very clean. the owners was very helpful with any question we might of had and responded very quickly. we even talked about staying there again.
I frequent this area, renting cabins 4-8 times per year. I have my favorites, but for this unexpected trip they were booked, and I found this gem! This might be the very first time I’ve ever been glad my favorites were booked! First, the owner was a breeze to deal with, very responsive and accommodating. Second, the price! I’ve already advised the owner that she is grossly under charging for this cabin. With the space and amenities, there is not a better deal to be had! Third, is location, location, location! It is central to Clayton, Franklin, Highlands. It is perfectly located for any kind of hiking or waterfall hunting you could possibly want from this area. And shopping, both the necessary groceries and the quaint mountain shops are all nearby. All that the mountains have to offer are close, and yet the cabin is still nestled on a picture perfect mountain, secluded and quiet, oblivious to any of society’s hustle and bustle. With so much nearby we almost missed our own backyard in this cabin. The rock feature is stunning. The water trickling to the ground below makes the most soothing background noise. I am definitely looking forward to visiting this lovely cabin again, bringing my family to enjoy it. I have no reservations whatsoever about recommending it, and in fact was doing so before I even completed my drive home. It is great for couples, families, business....pretty much everybody!!
