Unique Octagon Cottage On Lake Michigan Surrounded By Dunes & A County Park!!

NEW FOR SUMMER 2024 WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING MONDAY-MONDAY BOOKINGS

This is the perfect family cottage that sleeps 14 no problem, and the house lives large - easily accommodating big families. Located at the end of a private cul-des-ac, sitting less than 15 steps from the water, and neighbored directly to the North by Minert Park and it's thousands of feet of undeveloped beach - you won't find a more private setting on Lake Michigan.

You also won't find a better place to sleep with the window cracked listening to the waves. The large deck has seating for 15+ with panoramic views that take a full morning coffee to appreciate.

We have a 7 night minimum and must be booked Monday to Monday. No RVs are permitted.

Best Beach

We really loved our week here. We have been renting homes on Lk Mi for 25 years. This one has one of the best beaches ever! The place was great we hope to come back next year!

Wonderful!

This house was absolutely wonderful! The view is gorgeous, the location perfect. There was even a bald eagle that hung out on the beach right in front of the house every morning! Everything was clean and I never had that feeling of needing to wash something before using it that I’ve experienced in other places. The owner was super responsive and helpful. Our entire family just loved it. We would love to rent this house again!

Relaxation on pristine Lake Michigan beach!

Stunning home on Lake Michigan. First home south of wildlife preserve, so very private location. Beautiful soft sand beach. Five bedrooms, two full baths (just redone!). Restaurants, art venues, shopping, all close by; day trips to Grand Rapids or Grand Haven are easy as well. We've stayed here twice, easily out most favorite Lake Michigan vacation home.

Delightful cottage vacation on Lake Michigan

The spectacular Lake Michigan views and cottage setting are excellent! Clean and well supplied; actually felt pampered here!. Sitting on the deck, reading a book and watching kiteboarders was one of our favorite things to do except maybe watching the stars from the deck at night. Communication with owner was excellent. We were well taken care of here!

Beauty and peace!

This cottage is one of the absolute best properties I've stayed at on Lake Michigan! Neighbors are to the south, but there is a wilderness preserve to the north, so the only neighbors on that side are the deer that come down to the beach every morning! The town of Montague is close, for grocery shopping and several restaurants. Muskegon is about 15 min away; Grand Haven is 30 min drive away. Area has many small businesses that are unique. The deck is large, with plenty of chairs and chaise longues. You will not regret this rental!

Wonderful time!

The property is exactly as listed. We were all very comfortable. The beach is beautiful and the views of the Big Lake from the cottage are amazing. We enjoyed watching a storm roll in across the lake. Quite a lightning show!

The Greatest of vacations!!!!!!!

The cottage was even nicer than advertised. Our whole family was here which included everyone from 70 to 3 years old. Everyone had a ball and I wish you could hear my grandkids talk about staying at the Octagon house with dunes next door and the lake in front. They are already talking about coming back next year. The house was immaculate when we arrived and everything worked perfect. I do think they need to advertise the landing in the house accessible only by ladder as the video room getaway. My 10 year old grandson went up there to play his games away from the little kids. Thank you!! Thank you !! For a Great family vacation.

Excellent getaway!

This was a perfect place for us as grandparents to stay with our family. The kids and adults played on the beautiful private beach every day. The kayaks are a bonus. House was clean and comfortable to accommodate all 12 of us. Lake Michigan sunsets from the deck are gorgeous. We made lots of good memories. Thank you!

Thoroughly enjoyable

We were two families for a total of 10 people, ages 7 to 50. The house is as described in the listing. There was plenty of space for the group. The water and views are beautiful. It has a great beach (many neighbors do not) and right next door is Meinert park which is another huge beach that you can take walks along. The park contains sand dunes you can climb as well. The hosts were very accommodating and will do whatever to ensure you have a great trip. Would love to come back some day!

Relaxing Beach Vacation

Very relaxing stay, with all needs provided for and extremely quick response time from owner. The visit and property were excellent. Pay attention to details in property description around wifi, since it is limited. Cell reception is also limited.

Heaven on the Big Lake

We felt like we were living on a boat for the week...right on the beautiful water!!! Had a FABULOUS week! The cottage has a wonderful old feeling, but modern amenities like AC and comfy beds!! The lake changes every day...one day calm waters, the next crashing waves!! You can walk quite a way on the beautiful sand beach, despite the high lake level. At night we were all able to lie back in the many deck chairs and watch the stars fall!! We can’t say enough about this incredible cottage!!! Thank you Emily!!!

Amazing Location!

This house checked all of the boxes for us: it sleeps a lot of people, has a huge outdoor deck with an unobstructed view, the stairs to the water were reasonable, we could walk a decent distance along the beach, it has private dunes to the north, and the owner was extremely responsive. We have rented for many years along Lake Michigan and this was one of the best places we have found!

Wonderful spot!

We loved this beach house!!! The views from the expansive deck overlooking Lake Michigan were amazing! Adjacent to the house is a park and the views of the dunes and shoreline extend as far as you can see Additionally, there is a beach here and you can walk on the beach for a long way- a hard thing to find these days of high water on the lakes. We really appreciated the kayaks and the beach towels and lawn chairs for all. The space inside works well for a large family and we enjoyed our outside dinners at the large table on the deck. House is clean and adequately equipped for cooking meals in. We would love to come back!

A perfect summer retreat!

We had a great summer vacation at this cottage which has an amazing location. Very close to the beach so can easily watch the kids from the large deck. And being just south of a park, you get a terrific expanse of views. The house is extremely well equipped and has a rustic yet contemporary decor. We loved our stay and hope to return.

Exceeded expectations with priceless view and location.

We stayed at the cottage for a week with our three kids (6yrs, 3yrs, 1yr) and a few other family members; it was a perfect getaway following a few months of Stay at Home orders. You can have confidence that the cottage is clean and everything is a few steps away (beach, sand dunes, etc...). The cottage was well stocked with odds and ends so we could limit our trips to the store---Emily, was very helpful and made sure we were well prepared before packing the family roadster. In addition to enjoying our time at the cottage, we traveled to Silver Lake Sand Dunes (~40min drive) and the Lewis Family Farm (~20mim drive). The kids loved both. Our favorite aspect of the cottage was the views of Lake Michigan and going to bed & waking up footsteps from the beach. Plenty of space for 2-3 families to enjoy a week-long getaway; this is definitely on our shortlist of future vacation spots. Thanks for sharing your cottage with our family!

Amazing Sunsets!

Had an amazing week at the rental. Private location and beach access was exactly what we expected. House was very clean and comfortable. The perfect lake house for our family. Would definitely rent the home again.
