This wonderful woodland cottage sits secluded on acres of ancient rhododendron, laurel, and majestic trees. The Stoney Brook Cottage is VRBO's largest rental on a stream in Brevard.

The cottage sits next to a brisk stream that tumbles down the mountainside where it has cut its path for centuries. View the mountain fauna along the stream from the covered deck as you picnic in the forest canopy. You can also retreat to the screened porch out back to sip coffee as the song birds enjoy the first rays of sunshine. Cottage does have stairs and is not recommended for the elderly.

The Stoney Brook Cottage is located only six miles from DuPont State Forest with it's incredible waterfalls and over 80 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails and also only six miles from the Pisgah National Forest where you will find the Davidson River which boast more trophy trout per mile than any other stream in the country as well as tubing and Sliding Rock!

Oh yes, the cottage has WiFi high speed internet. There is also a hot tub overlooking the stream, a gas fireplace, a den/2nd living room with foosball, board games, and smart TVs in both living rooms. Over 1600 square feet of heated living space provides you with a king bedroom with walk-in closet and another queen bedroom, two full baths, living room, fully-equipped kitchen, couch, loveseat, rollaway bed, and full laundry.

When the day is through and you have hiked the National Forests and its waterfalls, you can retreat to your private cottage and still be in the middle of nature's beauty. It is everything you are looking for... Entrance to the cottage is on the lower level which has a bedroom, full bath, den/2nd living room, laundry room and covered deck with the hot tub. Upstairs is the living room, master bedroom, another full bath, kitchen, covered deck and a screened porch. We're sure you will enjoy this cottage for generations to come!

Super cute cabin. You come in on the bottom floor with the extra family room,queen bedroom and a full bath, small in size but perfect to rinse off before and after the hot tub. Head up the stairs to a roomy living/dining area, kitchen is fully stocked, the view is so pretty and the creek next to the cabin can be heard from both decks. Cabin is close to shopping & restaurants. Will definitely come back.

A very nice place convenient to cities, sites (waterfalls, etc.), shopping, while still out in the woods. Appreciated that all roads to the place were paved. The host was extremely quick in responding to my inquiries. The calm setting on the porch was perfect for morning coffee, and all day long. Will definitely be going back again.

We had a wonderful stay! Thank you for sharing your lovely home! It was the perfect location for going out waterfall hunting, Brewery hopping and sightseeing. Breakfast out on the porch was a great start to every morning. Loved being able to run by the local farm market for fresh produce!! And after being out waterfall hiking the Hot Tub was the perfect wind down every night!!! The King bed in the master bedroom was pretty comfy and there were lots of extra linens and towels available. And we loved the extra little desk area off the bedroom, it made a perfect staging area for all of our stuff!!The kitchen and bathrooms could use updates. Loved the old cabinetry, reminds me of my grandma's house, but the countertop, sink fixtures, and floors need some help.And checkout instructions are to wash and dry dishes before leaving, but there was only 1 kitchen towel provided.The couch had almost no support and we kept having to push the cushions back in place. Also one of the chairs on the porch is broken and could be a safety hazard. We did appreciate being able to access a guest account on the TV so we could watch our own TV accounts and not have to log in every day!None of that would deter us from staying here again. We had a wonderful stay and would HIGHLY recommend this house! Side Note: We also recommend the Pisgah Forest Stables for an amazing horse ride! Our trail guide was fantastic!!!

Location, location, location. The cottage is right next to a stream. During the summer you can sleep with the windows open hearing the sound of the falling water and have breakfast on the large porch. During the winter curl up in the living room with the fireplace.
