About this property
Cotswold Cottage, with wood burning stove and private courtyard garden
Malt Cottage is a recently refurbished Cotswold three story town cottage situated in the historic wool town of Northleach. It is bright and open inside but retains the buildings 200-year-old character. There is also a courtyard garden at the rear that catches the sun all year. The cottage is located 200m from the market square, all amenities are within easy reach - butcher, baker, wine bar, cafe, really great takeaway and the award-winning Wheatsheaf Inn. The living accommodation is light and airy, the living room has a wood burning stove for which we provide a basket of logs. There is a fully equipped, modern kitchen, with washer/dryer, dishwasher and coffee maker. There is a downstairs bathroom with rainfall shower over a large bath. There is a King-sized bedroom on the first floor, with a separate toilet and then there is a Super King bedroom on the top floor, which can be converted to two generous singles if required. Northleach provides an excellent base to explore the area.

A lovely, cosy and comfortable property, the cottage was very well equipped. Northleach is also a superbly central location for exploring the Cotswolds.
We had a great time staying here. The cottage was lovely and cosy and had everything we needed. It’s in a fantastic location to travel around the Cotswolds and the village itself was really nice.
Thank you for a lovely stay. This was a perfect spot to explore the Cotswolds. Being located in a small non touristy village was the highlight for us. The apartment was clean and had everything we required. The complementary milk and cake was very thoughtful as well! Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful stay. Perfectly situated between many other villages in the Cotswold area with short drives between. The beds were comfortable and the property had everything we needed for our 5 day stay.
We plan to return on another visit.
Spent 3 nights at the property, spotlessly clean and convenient parking outside on the road. Comfortable with everything we needed for a short stay. Great food at the Sherborne arms which is 3 minutes walk from the property too!

Enjoyed our break at Cotswold cottage.
Clean, comfortable, just two minutes from a friendly pub.
Lovely courtyard to enjoy the sun, comfortable beds, great location to access Blenheim Palace and other Cotswold villages like Bourton On The Water. Close to pubs and small village shop. Would recommend.
Everything was just as we expected, Clean, tidy and a beautiful cottage. Village with great amenities in walking distance to pubs, local shops and cafes. We stayed at Malt cottage to visit our daughters and family which worked out perfect. Thx Dani for welcome Cake and milk.
We needed a base for the racing at Cheltenham and this proved to be perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable, we could park outside, great food and drink options in the village (including the Wheat Sheaf in easy staggering distance!)Would definitely use again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others
What a perfect little cottage in an "authentic" Cotswolds village. "Authentic" because you won't meet tourist coaches here but old cottages and cozy pubs.
The house is absolutely perfect. That was our most "luxory" accommodation during our trip around England and it was nearly a shame that we were so much out of the house to see the Cotswolds...
We enjoyed our stay so much!
Well appointed and renovated accommodation with modern kitchen and bathrooms. Large and comfortable beds, all as described. Everything provided that you might need for a stay away from home. Easy communication with fast responding owner. Would recommend.
The cottage has everything you need for a home away from home. It is clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the enclosed garden as well. It’s perfectly situated in the little market town with good facilities and easy parking. Great dog walks on the doorstep and easily located to many famous Cotswold villages although we preferred to find the quiet hamlets with little coffee shops and pubs tucked away in the pretty countryside.
Thank you so much. We had a great week.
Great quirky cottage, accurately described in listing, handy village location with lovely eateries within walking distance. Mostly parked a short distance (2-3 minutes walk) away as road outside is steady at times with cars and with parking is narrow at points - not a big deal. Easy access to most of what's on offer in the Cotswolds. Had some nice evening meals at the Wheatsheaf Inn (about 15 metres away), brunch at coffee shop (Lynwood and Co) and wine bar (The Curious Wine Cellar) in the village centre, all a short walk away.
Our family had a wonderful time at this quaint cottage. The village of Northleach was a great location for us to enjoy the Cotswold area for a few days. The village has a yummy pastry shop where we got breakfast every morning, a small convenience store, and a couple pubs/restaurants all about a 2 minute walk from the house. It was fun to walk around the village and explore the streets and neighborhoods. We enjoyed traveling to local sites also. We had a car and easily found parking on the street. The owners were quick to respond, kind, and helpful. Truly, it was a delightful stay and a great first stop on our first trip to England. Thank you so much!
We had an amazing and relaxing stay here. Even though we had problems finding the right cottage at first. :-) It was clean, fresh and quiet. The only downside for me was the scent sticks in the cottage. I am allergic to scents, but I had not mentioned this when I booked our stay so I am to blame for forgetting to mention that.
I can highly recommend this place and the owners of this wonderful cottage.

Thank you so much, I have noted your comments about the scent sticks.
We were very comfortable staying at Malt Cottage. The rooms were cosy yet had enough room for our suitcases so we didn't have to unpack for the 3 nights. The appliances and decor were modern and clutter-free.
The cottage is just a short walk to the pubs/restaurants. Although it is on the main road through town, the noise didnt continue through the night, so our sleep wasn't disrupted.
(Sidenote - The Sherborne Inn was Fantastic, both staff and food. Friendly and helpful, especially pl
with dietary requirements. We found the staff at the Wheatsheaf Inn and to be quite unapproachable upon entry, even though we had a booking. After eye contact with numerous waiters and barstaff, we had to chase down a waiter to get seen to. The "Curious Wine Cellar" was even worse, and were not willing to discuss dietary requirements either.)
A wonderful cosy cottage, perfect for our festive Break.
If you you are looking for a cosy stay in a quite pretty village in the Cotswolds then Malt Cottage ticks all the boxes. Surrounded by beautiful countryside to enjoy walks and close to Cirencester.
