Everyone deserves a trip to their Happy Place! Equipped with all the comfort and conveniences of home, we hope Our Happy Place will soon become yours too! Just four blocks from beach access at the 3.5 milepost, Our Happy Place rests on top of a quiet hill in Kitty Hawk. Just a short drive over the bridge will take you there!
Situated close to terrific local eateries and the Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve, and only a mile or two from movies, putt-putt, local spas and fitness, grocery stores, you’ll feel right in the middle of everything!
The house boasts lots of natural light in the 3rd floor family room and a big corner lot with plenty of yard for games like volleyball and cornhole (boards and bags included.)

Great Family Vacation

The house was great, plenty of room for all 8 of us plus two dogs. Pool was nice when we needed a break from the beach.Public parking for the beach was just a minute away. Owner was helpful with answering any issues/questions we had.

Our Kitty Hawk vacation

Our Happy place was nice, pool was great, place was clean. Not much room for games in the game room. Front steps need some attention several in our party almost fell due to cracked loose boards. Kitchen and living area where wonderful, kitchen well stocked with everything needed. We had a wonderful time. Never any issue parking at the beach, plenty of room for everyone. The extra refrigerator came in handy with a large group.

Our family of 8 adults, 2 toddlers, an infant, and 3 dogs had a wonderful week at Our Happy Place! While it is not super walkable to the beach (especially with the little ones and all their beach things), we found parking at Kitty Hawk Bath House most mornings, and there were almost always spots at the Lillian Street Access. The pool was a highlight especially considering we encountered a jellyfish heavy week at the beach. The kitchen was mostly well stocked, and the bedrooms were suitable for our families needs. We did not make much use of the game room or hot tub but both seemed inviting. The host was attentive to any issues that we faced and check in and check out were a breeze. This was our first large family trip, and our first time in OBX and if we plan another trip Our Happy Place would be where we'd like to stay.

Much needed break

Love the convenience and the size of the house. Everyone has their own space to spread out. Loved the pool and hot tub. My boys loved the pool table and ping pong table. My furry boys enjoyed the walk around the neighborhood as well. Will stay again.

I was worried about having to drive to the beach and park but the beach public parking was never full and was very easy to access! We also enjoyed being close to shopping, water park, golf, ice cream, etc! Our family loved the pool and hot tub! Great week!

It really was our happy place

We had a blast staying here! It was close to everything, but still felt secluded enought that we weren't worried about road noise. The kids loved the swimming pool and games that were available. We would suggest this house to anyone.

Nice beach house

We enjoyed our stay for a holiday beach vacation. The location was perfect and the game room was a lot of fun. Then kitchen was very well stocked and there was a lot of space for everyone. This was a great get away in a nice neighborhood and close enough to the beach for our daily walks.

Already planning a trip back!

Stayed here for a friends wedding weekend 15 mins down the road & we want to turn it into an annual trip! Kacie was amazing and the house was exactly as published. All bedrooms were a good size. Pool, hot tub, games, and a quick walk to the beach. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Mermaid Way

The family and I had originally booked Our Happy Place. The owner called to let me know that there was a problem at the property and that it could be fixed but it wouldn't look great or we could switch to their other property. We decided to switch to Mermaid Way. This property was great. The family loved the whole house, including the hot tub, pool and new game room. The location was good. Easy walk to the beach. Mini golf and grocery store right across the street. There was even dog bowls, a dog bed and chew toy for our dog. The only down fall is it is right next to the main road, so there is a lot of traffic noise. You do get use to the noise. The owner is quick to respond and very accommodating. Our happy place indeed

We’ve stayed here twice so far, and plan to come back next year. Property owners are quick to respond when you have questions/issues. House is great - pool and hot tub are nice. Like all the balconies to enjoy outdoors even from the house. Close enough to beach that you can see ocean from the top floor front balcony. Nice quiet street away from the highway but still close to everything.
