This a family home in perfect condition that we rent for 10 weeks each year. VRBO will only allow reviews if they have received the rental commission. Because of this, we don't many reviews listed since we rent direct. I am happy to give you names of past renters if you would like a first hand review.
The house is GORGEOUS! HUGE 3,100 sq ft. Beautiful 4 bdrm, 3.5 bath carriage home in the private & quiet community of Bayside at Bethany. Many of the other townhomes in this community are much smaller.
Located 1.7 miles from the beach via Fred Hudson Road - by car or by the bike bath that runs along road (we always ride our bikes to beach). Great property with all upgrades backing to pond. Community has private pool (indoor and outdoor), gym and two areas for bay access for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding. If you have a boat, you can use an area ramp (outside of community) and tie up for the day at the community pier.
Great restaurants nearby. James Farm state park is great for the kids.(1.3 mi with parking) Playground located one block from house on our street.
Fee to use the clubhouse and pool is $325 per week for family. Use of tennis courts does not require fee. No Smoking/No Pets/Strict 8-10 person max occupancy. You will have to provide a copy of your rental agreement at clubhouse and you will be issued key FOB for entry. Cleaning service that has been hired will be following all Delaware guidelines (re: Covid19). Keyless locks have been installed so there will no person to person interaction necessary for entry.
Entertainment – There are 6 flat screen TV’s in house; one in each bedroom and one in each of the 2 first floor living rooms.
The two car garage provides ample safe storage for beach stuff / bikes.
The community is ideally located close to numerous activities:

- James Farm Ecological Preserve - trails to Indian River Bay 0.5 miles
- Fresh Ponds State Park - walking / bike trails 0.25 miles
- Assawoman Canal Trail - walking / bike trails 0.25 miles

There are two hard courts located next to the clubhouse. Pickelball can be played on one of the courts.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Check out is by 10am; Clubhouse FOBS must be back on table ($50 fee if missing); 2 Bike Locks must be left on shelf in garage ($75 fee if missing)
- pick up the house “broom clean”
- empty trash(take trash to the “trash coral” near the playground on our street)
- run the dishwasher and wash the large pots/pans; no dishes/items in the sink
- clean-out refrigerator - return furniture to the original location
- turn off all lights - take a last look for personal belongings
- lock all doors, front and back of the house
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

My husband and I live in Carroll County, Maryland and live in the house during the off season.
Why they chose this property
This home looks like new even though it was built in 2006. It is on a private road so low traffic with the playground being a block away. The pool, boating docking area, tennis courts, gym, kayak launch are all located via a path that runs behind the pond out of our backyard. It is a really lovely place and we are excited to rent to nice families and travelers.
What makes this property unique
This is one of the larger models in the neighborhood. It has a soaking tub, 2 fireplaces, two sliding doors to the backyard, an enclosed sunroom and two dining areas so that everyone can eat together or play games at the tables. The neighborhood and house and a few minutes walk from the grocery store, a bike path goes from the neighborhood to the beach (1.5 miles and super safe /wide for kids), there is a state park .5 miles from neighborhood for hiking/biking, there is a golf course .5 miles from house and the neighborhood sits on the bay and has access for paddle boarding, kayaking etc.
