Home Away From Home
Made a last minute reservation for a weekend trip during mid-April. We arrived late on Friday evening and had no problem accessing the property even in the dark. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We had plenty of towels and pillows. The downstairs would have functioned well for anyone with mobility issues because there are only a few stairs to enter the large front porch. The upstairs loft area pull-out sleeper plus second bedroom was a perfect area for our children to separate and have their own spaces. It was such a comfortable place to stay. If we ever head back to Gatlinburg, we would absolutely stay here again!

Everything was good and cabin seemed well maintained. The only criticism I would have would be that there would be an extra roll of toilet paper in both bathrooms. There was a partial roll in both bathrooms and 1 extra roll in the downstairs but not upstairs. Luckily I brought some since we were there a week. Thanks for letting us rent the cabin and we would definitely come again.

I am a life-long resident of middle Tennessee. I have lived within 50 miles of Nashville all my life. (But, I escape to Gatlinburg every chance that I get!) I grew up on a dairy farm--my dad and brother still milk about 75 cows. I am a former United States Postal Service city letter carrier, have taught 8th grade math for 23 years, and currently teach math in a public high school. I have five grown children and four grandchildren. I share my home with a hyperactive French bulldog and a sweet tiny pug/Boston terrier mix.

Why they chose this property

My husband bought this property in 2016. We vacationed here many times in 2016 and 2017. He passed away in November of 2017. I love the cabin because it is such a cozy, special place for me, full of great memories and new ones that are made each time that I visit! During the GSMNP closure during COVID in 2020, I spent time at the cabin and updated just about everything in the cabin. Today, it is welcoming, immaculate and waiting for guests to enjoy!

What makes this property unique

I love how close the cabin is to Gatlinburg! Less than four miles away. Guests love the serenity of the quiet neighborhood yet delight in the proximity to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Rocky Top Sports Complex, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the attractions and great food in the area.

There is an awesome little grocery store about 2 miles away. The cabin has a good view of Mt. Leconte with great roads that are maintained by the resort when it snows. A pool was installed just in front of the cabin :) There is a pavillion, playground, and basketball goal there too. This cabin is ideal for honeymooners, a small family, two couples with several children, or for any group of 4-6 who would like to get away and stay in the mountains!
