Luxury bathroom with a rock river set in the floor, a glass shower door where the rock tile continues, and an interesting sink made from a flowerpot and an old set of drawers. Bucket pulley on back deck 20+ feet up. Living area with sofa bed and full kitchen. Large deck on the front and beautiful sunsets to enjoy while grilling or sitting around the firepit.

Outside the kitchen window is an herb garden for your gourmet cooking. Inside is a Cuisinart ice cream maker. We always have sugar, but make sure you bring cream and your favorite toppings and look up recipes for your favorite ice cream!

We provide wood for the firepit.

Underneath the cabin is a hammock for your daily nap!

We just got high speed wifi!

There is a beautiful sunbathing or stargazing deck on the Lake of Egypt you can enjoy with a fire pit you are welcome to use.

There are great wineries, hiking and biking nearby! There are always fun Southern IL festivals and you can even zipline!

We also have 3 other cabins right next door and nearby if you have more people coming! Check availability! Red Roof Retreat, Nature's Way Getaway and Little Moon Tiny Cabin.

Please no smoking inside the cabin.

We are available to our guests by phone or text and will be around most of the time.

It's so quiet and all of the neighbors are wonderful. It is a very safe area. Fun to walk around or ride bikes. Quick walk up the road to Lake of Egypt.

Ferne Clyffe State Park is the closest place to hike about 6 miles away. You will not be disappointed.

There is no public transit to the cabin.

Cute little place!
We loved our stay at the Jaybird Treehouse! It was well maintained, clean, and super cute. The shower was amazing, the beds were super comfortable, and our teenager and their friend loved the trap door and "bunker" under the rest of the treehouse. The ice cream maker was such a nice touch! A couple things that I feel I should note... 1) the walk down to the lake is fairly steep, and is a boardwalk rather than stairs. For us it was ok, but if we had my elderly mother with us, she would not have been able to make that trip. 2) The air conditioners in the bedrooms worked well, if not a little too loud, but the air conditioner in the main living area didn't cool the space off quite enough. On a humid, 90 degree day, this makes a big difference. Overall, we loved our time there and would recommend the treehouse to others!

Spring vacation
The treehouse is small but efficient. The beds are very comfortable, and the host responded to us immediately when we couldn't figure out the door combination and needed table salt!

We are originally from the St. Louis area and Ohio. We bought our lake house at Lake of Egypt and eventually moved there. We loved it so much we started building vacation rentals. We enjoy our guests so much and love the area!

Why they chose this property

We wanted to buy in Colorado because of the night sky. The Lake of Egypt sky was just the same but much closer to home. On many nights, we can see the milky way. There is not a lot of light pollution and to watch the sky and a bonfire is so much better than anything we could watch on TV!

What makes this property unique

The night sky is amazing and you can build a bonfire anytime you want. The treehouse has a bucket pulley 20 feet in the air and also has a trap door bedroom. It is a special place for couples and for families. The deer are all over as are many beautiful birds.
