Step back in time to 1828 and walk the same halls as Charles Mallory, Mystic’s most prominent shipbuilder (see Mallory buildings and exhibits on display at Mystic Seaport). The Charles Mallory House is a 7 bedroom (sleeps 15), 4.5 bath (3750 sq ft) home located on .65 acre. This newly renovated home was the home of Charles Mallory and his decedents from 1828-2012. Our multigenerational family had a great time here. The outdoor space and location were perfect, the house was exceptionally well stocked, and Glenn was super responsive to questions we had.
Fourteen family from age six to eighty-six had fun exploring mystic and nearby beaches parks and museums The house is spacious and warmly decorated. We made good use of the kitchen and large dining room A truly exceptional experience
The house is beautiful and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with new appliances. It's a great location and the hosts were super helpful. A floor plan would have been helpful.
The house was so welcoming with cookies, water and wine waiting on us. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen at a home we ever stayed. There were plenty of towels and a basket full of blankets to snuggle up with during the chilly evening. The house is in the perfect location for walkable restaurants. We also enjoyed walking to the shops, the Christmas tree lighting and the holiday boat parade. The hosts kept us informed of upcoming events. We had such a great Thanksgiving holiday as 2 families united. We are very thankful for a magical time in Mystic in such a wonderful home with such caring hosts. I highly recommend staying here.
Very nicely maintained historic home in a great location. Brought older adults and small children and all were happy and comfortable.

Thank you for your review. So happy that you chose CMM to be part of your family’s celebration of your daughter’s wedding.
This home is wonderful. It's stately while still being warm and inviting. The grounds are amazing with a charming swing, beautiful patio with a fountain, and lots of space for kids to run and play. The kitchen is stocked, the beds are cozy, and the location is an easy walk to shops and restaurants. The owners are super responsive and even had cookies and spirits for us when we arrived, an unexpected touch. We were a family of 14 and it was perfect. We can't say enough about it. On a scale of 1-10 it's 11. We loved it here.
We had a great time staying at the Charles Mallory house. Our whole family of 10 from 3-70 really enjoyed everything the house and area had to offer. The owners were above excellent and ready with lots of local information, history, and info about their beautifully restored and loved home.
The house was perfect for hosting a big group that was excited to explore Mystic. The location is perfect! Everything was clean and made for an enjoyable stay!

So happy yo hear that your group enjoyed the house and the area. I agree, there are so many things to do and great restaurants all within walking distance of the house.
We absolutely loved our stay here. We were a large group staying in town for a wedding and this was the perfect property. The house itself is charming with tons of great space for large groups to hang out. We took advantage of the great kitchen and dining room a few times. The bedrooms were also very comfortable and can accommodate kids or couples. The bathrooms were also newer. The location can’t be beat. And finally, Glenn and Lynn couldn’t have been nicer to my family and were extremely generous.

About the host
Hosted by Glenn Cox
We are excited to share our home with you. Lynn is a retired educational administrator and Skip is a retired executive of a software company. Traveling and spending time with family are their biggest joys in life. Parents to 2 daughters, 2 son-in -laws and grandparents to 5 grandchildren keep them very busy. Over an 8 year time span, they have lovingly restored the Charles Mallory Mystic house touching every inch of this home. After leaving the area for work and family, they wanted to relocate to the Mystic area. They currently reside in Haddam CT.
Why they chose this property
Lynn and Skip grew up in the Mystic area during their middle school and high school years. They were married and had their reception at Mystic Seaport (Seaman's Inn). After leaving the area for work and family, they knew that they wanted to spend their retirement years in the beautiful town of Mystic. When the Charles Mallory Mystic home came up for sale it was in need of great repair with cracked walls, falling down ceilings and painted floors to name a few of the repairs. Nonetheless, they saw the inner beauty of this home. Charles Mallory Mystic is too beautiful to keep to themselves, so they are sharing this special home with others so that you can make special memories that will last a lifetime.
What makes this property unique
Location! Location! Location! It is a rare opportunity to have a historic 7 bedroom, 4.5 bedroom on .65 acre in the heart of downtown Mystic. This home has it all. Sit on one of the two outside porches, swing on the tree swing, play catch in the backyard or cook in the beautiful chef kitchen. Want to take in the excitement of downtown Mystic? Walk less than .04 mile to enjoy a casual lunch or elegant dinner, or shop in the unique boutiques. At the end of the day, come back to the tranquility and quietness that Charles Mallory Mystic has to offer. Your stay at the Charles Mallory Mystic home is the perfect setting for your multi-generational family function and the backdrop for making lifetime memories.
