About this property
Nature Lover's Dream Hawai'i
Aloha and welcome to my precious gem of a home on the Big Island of Hawaii. Its 9 private acres have sweeping views of the ocean, sunset, and moonset and sits perched above the sacred Kealakekua Bay, where wild spinner dolphins love to frequent.
Nature is vibrant and alive in this haven of privacy, but within a 10 minute drive you can find grocery stores, farmer's markets, world class snorkelling, numerous cafes/restaurants, beautiful beaches and the famous Captain Cook Monument Hike.
My home has 3 full bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a beautiful kitchen and dining area, a living room, a family room with TV (Netflix) and three twin floor mattresses for extra sleeping space, and a stunning covered Lanai. The house is 100% solar powered, and all appliances and kitchenware are new and well maintained.
The house is naturally ventilated, and the steady and cool breeze provides ideal temperatures throughout the day and night. Birdsong fills the air from sunrise to sunset, and after sunset the star gazing is spectacular.
A manual gate guides you into the property where there is covered parking for two cars. A giant Monkey Pod tree greets you and provides shade for one additional vehicle.
My guests are ideally nature lovers and should understand that part of this home’s magic is that it is on a rural, wild piece of earth, and with such living comes an inevitable fusing of the indoor world and the outdoor world. Geckos are a cute part of Hawaiian life and is not outside the realm of possibility that the occasional, spider, centipede or other insect may make their way indoors. Guests agree to live in such a way that is conscious of this (i.e. keeping screen doors closed, keeping compost/food waste in the freezer, avoiding having open food containers out for a long time, and cleaning up after meals before going to bed each night).
My home is 100% solar powered (hooray for clean energy!) and while the system is robust, guests especially in groups of 4+ agree to be conscious of energy usage while staying. This means opting to air dry towels and beach gear in the sunshine, and using the laundry machines during the daytime.
My landscaper may come during your stay to make sure the land is well cared for. There are also 2 horses and a baby cow who graze in the pasture, just beyond the fence line of the property.
Internet: Starlink Internet is provided
No fires in the fireplace.
Thank you and E komo mai, welcome home! Any questions feel free to ask me @kellyarobinson ❤️

About the host
Hosted by Kelly Robinson
Originally from Chicago, I was lucky to go on a family trip to Hawaii when I was 9 years old, which completely changed my life. From then I was always drawn to Hawaii and 30 years later have manifested this life long dream. I steward my home with deep care and love to share it with others ❤️
Why they chose this property
Kealakekua is my favorite place on the island for many reasons. I love the farming culture of the area, that there is still a Native Hawaiian presence, and that we are in such close proximity to world class snorkeling. The underwater world is such a gift to experience.
What makes this property unique
9 private acres nestled amidst a 150 year old pristinely maintained coffee farm. It’s a peaceful, serene dream!
