The smaller rear two bedroom rimu-lined ‘Shearer’s Quarters’ can be rented and secured separately. Enjoy a glass of Estate Chardonnay on the sunset deck in summer, or relax inside warmed in winter with a huge logfire, enjoying a book with a glass of Clearview Estate full bodied red wine. Just a few steps away is our Red-Shed Restaurant using our own produce and herbs, organic, local and free range ingredients wherever possible to create our contemporary Mediterranean menu. For a relaxing brunch, a long lunch, the Clearview platter or coffee - enjoy casual rustic dining with friendly service. Really great stay, so cool being right near the wine festival event we were at. Very spacious and great for groups. Some of our group couldn't make it due to the weather and the host was incredibly generous and understanding
We really loved our stay at the winery. The complementary wine was appreciated (and delicious) and the house was comfortable and had everything we needed for 9 of us including toys for the kids. There’s a surf break nearby as well as bike trails and the winery restaurant was fab.
We were down for the Hawkes Bay 10k which finished at Elephant Winery and this amazing Homestead was right next door at Clearview Estate. The stay was magic from the time we pulled up. Lots of room, management were amazing and although right next to Restaurant it was still very private
A group of women enjoying the vineyard and surrounds. It’s perfect for a getaway - the fire was great plus a fabulous living area.
The long lunch at the restaurant was wonderful.
A pleasant private place to stay. No hot tub as advertised - just a big bath, so that was a bit disappointing! Otherwise we really enjoyed staying there,
Overall a great place for a large family stay.
However the maintance needs upgrading and cleanliness should have been much better for the cleaning fee charged.
We visited from Auckland with family visiting from the UK. This was a lovely large comfortable property for our group of 8. A well equipped property in a beautiful setting with easy access to the local area. The owner was very welcoming. We enjoyed yummy lunch and wine tasting right next door. Would highly recommend.
Big place with beds for everyone, wake up to birds singing. Bottle of wine a really nice touch, won’t bring any next time. Not far to drive to anywhere in Hawkey’s Bay.
This was a fantastic stay for all of us. Location was beautiful and the hosts were impeccable and communicated wonderfully. Only issue was the internet was unstable but that wasnt really an issue because it meant everyone was present and enjoyed the holiday. We felt very central to all the activities we wajted to do with nothing more than half an hour away. Would love to stay again!
Thank you SO much!! We enjoyed staying here, wish it could have been longer. What a beautiful location, and so special to be able to enjoy the vineyard surrounds. We were treated very well by the host, and LOVED the platters and bubbly - deeeelicious :) Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at Clearview. The Homestead is cosy, old/character-filled (depending on your outlook) but has everything you need for a comfortable and really pleasant stay. Ketan was a wonderful and warm host, and it felt that nothing would be too much trouble. If you are after five star luxury this may not be for you, but for a laid-back family holiday in a beautiful location (and a great restaurant and winery) it was perfect!
only one problem. However dealt with without issue
one comment from 2 guests was a little dark. I found it to be perfect as the decor was relaxing

Extremely disappointed in the cleanliness
Paying top dollar for this property, we were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness and hygiene of the property. Great location and setting but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend.

Thank you Amy for this review. I am disappointed to read that you weren't fully satisfied with your stay here. Please be aware that, during your stay, I made every effort to ensure that you had a unique experience. Part of that was a refund of $300 to compensate for you inconvenience. This extra charge was for added guests that I wasn't aware of and chose not to charge you for. Further, I tried to contact you several times in an endeavour to establish what I could do to improve your stay. Our pricing reflects the market and our competition provides the same level of pricing, although there is not many houses that can accommodate up to 11 guests, as we do. I hear your point about housekeeping standards, and I'll make sure this is corrected as of today. I pride myself in delivering a high quality stay experience in a rustic & rural environment, and once again I am very disappointed you did not enjoy your stay. Kind regards - Accommodation manager
We had such an amazing stay. Ketan and the rest of the staff looked after us so well. The homestead is lovely. There were 8 of us staying and there was plenty of room for us all. We very much enjoyed sitting on the deck with a glass of wine amongst the greenery. It was so quiet. Even when the restaurant was open he couldn’t hear anything. We had lunch at the vineyard one day and were treated to a lovely tasting and tour. We left behind something and Ketan very kindly organised a courier to send it back. One small thing to be aware of is that the bugs do come out at night - make sure you use the bug spray that is kindly left to use!
