Turangi by the River

50 metres from the Hydro Pool, one of the famous trout fishing pools on the Tongariro River, at the end of a cul de sac. Surrounded by bush, it is secluded, private and quiet. You fall asleep at night listening to the sound of the river. The living/dining area opens onto a sunny deck. There's a large lawn out the front. In winter, crank up the woodburner fire place - perfect after a day's skiing on Mt Ruapehu: Whakapapa only 45 mins away! Walk over to the Major Jones swing bridge and follow easy tracks alongside the river or head to beautiful Lake Taupo, the hot pools at nearby Tokaanu, or Taupo town 40 minutes away.
Please note that this is a basic fishing cottage, not a flash, modern bach. Shabby chic is the vibe. Please bring your own linen and towels, including tea towels.
