Most of our furnishings are upcycled, with an art deco / retro / rustic vibe. Our kitchen & bathroom are dated, they don't look like modern hotel bathrooms, however they're spotlessly clean & fully equipped. Our linen is 100% cotton, feather duvets, woolen blankets which are freshly laundered and air dryed between guests. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel, this might not be the place for you. This is a family home with an alternative, laid back, boho vibe.
Great location on the Kapiti Coast with the cafes, the beach, and QE2 bike track just down the road. Views to the hills, bush and garden make this a beautiful getaway.
A short walk gets you to the panoramic Raumati South beach, with views of Kapiti Island nature reserve and entrance to Queen Elizabeth park. Enjoy the coast walkways, new bike track, bike along the esplanade, or laze in the sun on the beach or catch a wave in the kid friendly surf. Head down to Raumati Beach for the iconic 'splash pad' outdoor waterpark for children, and on Sundays with mini train rides.
The local cafes offer great coffee and live music, there is a local takeaway, childrens playgrounds and tennis courts. Near by access Kapiti Island nature reserve, Paraparaumu Golf course, The Aquatic centre with hydroslide, Marine Gardens in Raumati with popular Splash Pad, Mountain bike tracks and native bush walks in Whareroa farm, Horseriding, Paraparaumu and Waikanae, Tuatara brewery, local galleries and a variety of cafes and bars.
And if that is not enough, it's an easy 40 min drive (50min by train) to Wellington city. Spend the day in the city, enjoy a meal, and a short ride home to your comfortable bed and peaceful home.
Sleeping includes 1x king bed, 1 x single room, 1 x single with a pull out single underneath it on rollers, currently also a double in the garden caravan.

This is a family home with very limited facilities and the promise of a relaxing garden completely false. The garden was very much a work in progress and the furniture and linen completely substandard.

This feedback completely contradicts all previous reviews about the beautiful, relaxing garden. It is a spacious, organic, permaculture garden, as per photos. The furniture is as per photos, it is mostly retro/art deco/alternative styled. All facilities are listed. This guest slept in brand new 1000 thread count sheets that had never been used, and freshly laundered feather duvets. If this quality of linen is not good enough for you, please don't book our home. We pride ourselves on providing a comfortable, clean, family home.
Very accommodating hosts even though we had to book on short notice. The well established gardens were lovely to see. Very comfortable beds, and nice to have the books and games available, great for kids. Also recommend booking in time to go the local school fair which was lovely.
Thank you guys, cheers.

Area nice, house dated and needed to be cleaner
We really enjoyed Raumati South and loved the beach. House is fairly dated but had a nice deck and beautiful gardens. Excellent wifi. House could have been cleaner. The fridge was full of food and not clean. We had to clean a shelf to put our food in it. Toaster didn’t work either. Was good to be able to bring our dog away with us, but overall the house probably wasn’t good value for money.

This is very dissapointing to hear. I normally clean the house myself to a very high standard, other guests have commented on cleanliness and it is something I pride myself on. Unfortunately I was away and paid a cleaner between guests this time, the fridge was obviously overlooked. I'll clean myself or use a different cleaner in future. The toaster was working the week before and has now been replaced. The house was built in the 1950's, not 2019.

Great family home
The house was comfortable for a big family Christmas Day, with lots of living spaces, spacious kitchen and easy outdoor area. Great having the linen provided. Good area for activities, beach etc. Could do with more fridge capacity.

We had a wonderful, peaceful time staying here.
We had a wonderful, peaceful time staying here. We all enjoyed the shade in the garden when the days were hot and the lovely deck when the evenings were cooler. The beds were super comfortable. We cycled in Queen Elizabeth park stopping to eat blackberries along the track, swam most days at the beach and enjoyed the local cafes too. We highly recommend staying here.

This was a lovely relaxing place to stay for the whole family.
This was a lovely relaxing place to stay for the whole family. Perfect for our 3 children dog. The kids played happily without TV for the week busy looking for edible treats in the delightful garden, playing in the sandpit, riding bikes round the tree. There are multiple outdoor areas and its right near the cycle trail. We found a lovely spot just a short drive away to surf every day! Wifi is limited, but enough to check emails if necessary. We would go back again in a heartbeat!!!!
