About this property

Quiet cottage in 2 Mile Bay

This cozy wee bach is tucked away on a private rear section in 2 Mile Bay, close to the lake. The cottage has 1 bedroom (queen bed), an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. Shower, toilet in cottage and an extra toilet outside in the laundry. There is a garage for storing bikes etc. A heat pump heats the area quickly and there is a heater in the bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with basic essentials for your stay. All linen provided.
A short walk down to the Sailing Club for coffee by the lake in the morning or enjoy a glass of wine and pizza watching the sunset over the lake from the bar. A new Woolworths supermarket and shop complex with an Asian takeaway is a 2 minute drive or a 10 minute walk. Also a very good Fish and Chip shop close by. Taupo town centre is a short drive along the lakefront.
Popular walking/biking paths by the lake are just down the hill.

A very nice cottage! Loved how welcoming it felt.

While the cottage does not have a lake view it is only a short walk to the beach and it was very private.

A real gem - we loved our stay at Kereru Cottage

Our family of four really loved our stay at Kereru Cottage. Great location - very handy to the lake and town, in a nice quiet street. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfy and homely. Wendy is a great host, answered all our questions and made us feel very welcome. We'd definitely recommend Kereru Cottage to others and would love to stay again!

Lovely place to spend time

Great spot with a sleep out for kids or another couple. A wee walk front m town but only 3 minutes from the lake. Wendy was very responsive and attentive. Would def recommend

Absolutely wonderful

We had the most wonderful stay in this gorgeous property. Everything was better than we had anticipated and our only wish was that we had been able to stay longer. Great location, very private and secure. Charming garden, just the spot for a nice outdoor meal. The interior was warm and welcoming, nice eclectic decor and super comfortable bedding with quality linen. Would highly recommend

Great little hide away

Needed a place to say for the around Taupo bike race. It had a garage to lay out my bike bits which was great. Very quiet back section, private lots of trees. House is lovely, well appointed warm and inviting. Enjoyed my time there.

We had a great time at Wendy's house. Everything was perfect : the house is cosy with everything needed, nice garden. A two-minute walk to the lake (very nice walk along the lake). Great communication with Wendy.

Kiwi cottage

Cottage was an older, traditional Kiwi bach. Quiet and peaceful position, within easy walking distance to the lake. The outdoors were extremely well maintained. The cottage was compact, clean and comfortable. It was well stocked and had everything we needed.

We love being able to walk/bike by the lake just down the hill, and walking down for a swim in summer. Taupo is a very vibrant area with so much to do.
