About this property

Mangawhai Heads Cottage

Our self contained cottage is privately situated in a garden setting close to beaches and shops and cafe's.

The surf beach is only a 4 minute drive away or a 20 minute stroll or if you prefer the Estuary it is only a 5 minute walk away. Close to Wood street shops and cafes, the Golf course and MAZ Activity Centre. Visit Bennetts chocolate factory, local vineyards or pop in into the buzzing Saturday Morning market at Mangawhai village.

Kitchenette includes a small fridge, microwave, electric frypan, and a portable electric cooktop. We also have a bbq on the back deck.

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and small hand basin.

The bedroom features bifold doors which open out on the the back deck. In the living area we have 2 divan beds which are set up as daybeds.

Port a cot and highchair are available on request.

Sheets and bedding are supplied.
*please bring your own towels.*

The cottage is totally separate and private from our main house (we are not always onsite as this is our Holiday home) the cottage has its own driveway access.

Ideal for couples or a small family.

Awesome place to stay

This place is great it suited our needs perfectly. Close to the surf beach, mangawhai heads shops and skatepark all a short drive or walk. Hosts assisted us once when needed and were lovely to deal with . Will definitely book again.

Mangawhai cottage

Nicely maintained property in a quiet street with attractive garden surrounds. Clean and tidy. Kitchen had a few good essentials and we cooked easily on hot plate. Bathroom shampoo etc good and bed comfy.

Great weekend getaway

Perfect accomodation for our family’s Easter weekend getaway. Very clean and tidy upon arrival and the chocolate rabbits were a nice touch. The place had everything we needed and was close to the beach and town centre. A little deck out the back was great for morning coffees in the sun and the front had easy access parking. Will definitely be staying again. Mike

We had the most wonderful stay! The house was absolutely beautiful – even better than we expected from the photos. Everything was spotless, tidy, and so welcoming. The view from the deck was breathtaking, and we found ourselves spending so much time just enjoying the scenery.What really stood out were the thoughtful little touches that made the place feel extra special – like the chocolates waiting for us in the fridge and the small bath cloths marked for makeup. It’s those little details that really make a stay memorable.We couldn’t have asked for a better spot for our girls’ weekend, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Place was great, had all the basics needed and close to everything you need in Mangawhai. The lounge was lovely with the afternoon sun, and made the place very cosy. Shower could have had better pressure and hotter water but property uses tank water so its understandable, but I appreciated that there was shampoo etc to use so we didnt need to bring our own.

Awesome place for a long weekend

Awesome little spot. Cottage was sunny, warm, comfortable and quiet and had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend exploring mangawhai. The hosts were quick to respond and we appreciated the local recommendations. Lots to do within 30mins drive plus mangawhai heads beach which is very close by is beautiful!

This is great value for money. Clean with a well appointed kitchen. Plenty of warm bedding and heating for a winter stay. Friendly welcome from Haedie who had unlocked and turned the heater on prior to our arrival

Cottage with Bach Feel

The accommodation was what we expected, there were no towels supplied which was a nuisance, we could have asked the property manager for some as she lived in the house above but we didn't want to bother her as we had to bother her to get the keys when we arrived as key instructions never came through. There was no cell phone signal whatsoever at the property and no internet, the internet was not a problem but no cell phone coverage was difficult. We only stayed one night of the two we had booked.

Mangawhai Heads Cottage

This is a very comfortable holiday bach which is ideal for a break in this area of the Northland. It is very well appointed. I stayed as a single traveller but this would also be ideally suited to a family. It is within an easy drive to the beach and to the main shopping area of Mangawhai. I would recommend this bach to anyone who is looking for comfortable holiday accommodation.
