About this property

Peaceful bach located close to the beach

“Puka lodge” is a great place to relax and unwind. Located in a quiet Grove it offers a sheltered, sunny, fully fenced section, ideally suited for a family or 2 couples. The section allows for off road parking for all vehicles. The interior is well equipped, clean and tidy and has recently had new carpet and vinyl installed throughout house . Provided are board games, DVDs, swing ball, petanque plus more for the family to enjoy.
Just a short 5 minute walk to the beach overlooking Kapiti Island.The beach is suitable for swimming, walking, fishing and kite surfing.
Walking distance of 3 cafe’s / restaurants (all which make great coffee), a well-equipped dairy /4 square, bakery and takeaway.
Waikanae Township is 7 minutes’ drive away offering 2 Supermarkets, Cinema, Pharmacy, many food outlets and a small shopping complex. Puka lodge is on the bus route to Waikanae railway station/ township and only 45 minutes drive to Wellington city
Waikanae Beach offers many activities, kid’s playgrounds, the popular Waikanae outdoor pool complex, tennis court, cycle/walking trails, golf course, and Nga Manu nature reserve. It is centrally located should you wish to travel further to either Otaki Forks or the Pukerua Bay coastal walkway. Or simply sit back with a good book and enjoy the tranquility of “Puka Lodge”.
Special conditions:
No smoking. No Pets. No Party's or Events.
Prefer a family or 2 couples ( bunks only suitable for kids).
2 night minimum stay. Linen and 1 towel per guest is provided. Cleaning fee of $50, in addition it would be much appreciated if you could leave the place as you found it, thank you.

Quiet safe property. Easy access to beach. Everything needed for our stay.

Clean, well set up house with everything provided for a relaxing visit. The property is well suited for children as well and I look forward to a return visit with grandchildren.

Perfect getaway to the beach

Puka Lodge is exactly where you should stay if you're looking for a classic kiwi beach holiday. The beds are comfy, house is clean and had everything you could want, games, books, bikes, bbq and great backyard. Nice and close to the beach and not far from the shop & cafe/bar. Will definitely be back.

We had such a wonderful stay here. So clean and tidy. The beds were comfy and lots of nice fluffy towels. The outdoor games were a big hit with the kids. The early check in and late check out made our weekend so much more relaxing, feels like we’ve had a nice long holiday!

Great place for a family!

We really had a great time. Very comfortable, spacious and clean place with plenty of toys/games to play with the kids. Very relaxing and close to the beach. Pauline was great for the communication and providing portacot and high chair for our child. We definitely recommend this place as we all had a lovely time.

We had a very comfortable stay at the batch on a quiet street in Waikanae beach, had everything we needed, the place was clean, even had a cot and high chair for our little fella. Best part for us was the huge fully fence yard. Great communication with the hosts. Thank you for a lovely stay

Great family break

This compact bach had all we needed for our family stay. Plenty of outdoor space and lots of games for the kids. Lovely just sitting outside on the verandah too. Really appreciated the kitchen and pantry having all the essentials. Despite staying over New Year it was a super quiet area and just a short walk to the beach. Great communication from the owners as well.

Very disappointed with the floors which are in dire need of resurfacing after many years. Not clean and just gives the place a bad look and feel and unhygienic.

Wonderful little get-away

The hosts have created a wonderful space for families and friends to gather. A great fenced back garden for the kids to roam and play while the adults relax on the deck. The location to the beach and other amenities is convenient and an easy walk. Everything you need in the kitchen for cooking and enough bedrooms/beds for everyone. They were very accommodating for my toddler's needs with a crib and highchair which I really appreciated as it makes international travel so much easier and lighter! I would definitely return to this property for future stays. Thanks for having us!

Excellent and Pleasant Stay

The property was clean and tidy. Pauline was really good with communication and upon our request provided an extra heater. We were in constant rush during our stay hence didn't get to enjoy the house. However, it is a well appointed house with nicely stocked kitchen - condiments, soup cans, milk, orange juice. It gives a good mix of modern comforts (Heat pump, washing machine) and good old Kiwi Bach living. Will definitely stay and recommend others.

We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the complimentary items. It was very clean and tidy, beds were comfortable. Our child enjoyed the games that were in the shed. Fantastic Family Batch

Ok believe it or not. This batch had everything lol. Literally everything. Most batches I go to have the bear minimum. It reminded me of being at my mums. I love the beach being near where walked to every day. Kids had so much fun playing outside in the big back yard and there were loads of toys to keep them occupied. I love how it provides food basics, or was you could use what you needed and replace it with other essentials kind of vibe. Very cool. It has limited internet, which we ran out of in 1 day. A-bit annoying tbh but we managed. But over than that 5 stars..
