Stunning family holiday home

This spacious home is ideal for a large family to relax on holiday together. The views are absolutely stunning, and the huge open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area is ideal for unwinding.
You can head out for a two minute walk to the estuary for a swim, or play at the park. On rainy days pull out the board games and get cozy around the fire, or head downstairs for some table tennis.
Kids can explore the bush behind the house without mum and dad having to worry.
With a large wrap around deck on the main floor you can enjoy eating al fresco in the summer months or enjoy watching the wild sea from your cosy spot next to the fire during winter. With recently installed Wifi so you can stay connected it really is the perfect getaway spot throughout out the year.
Located only an hour and a quarter north of Auckland City, Magical Mangawhai has plenty of entertainment to offer the holiday maker. The estuary is ideal for smaller kids, while the surf beach is perfect for more confident swimmers. Go fishing or diving, golfing or kayaking. Visit the famous Bennets chocolate factory, the cafes or restaurants and the Saturday market.
Go for a tour around the local vineyards or a show at the infamous Tavern!
There are plenty of things to do and see in Mangawhai!!

* Linen is provided at $30 per person, ($45 for a single person in a double bed) but please bring your own beach towels. Please ensure that you indicate which beds you want to use if you have single adults in double beds.

Special conditions: Please leave the bach tidy, with all rubbish taken out to the road for monday collection, or additional cleaning will be charged. Dishes should be washed, things returned to where you found them.

If renting during a public holiday, rental must be for entire public holiday weekend.
Important - If more people are staying than have been paid for, your stay will be terminated immediately.

Enjoyable family weekend away

We had a lovely family weekend away in Mangawhai. The accommodation was spacious and suited our needs with our adult children each having their own space. Loved the pizza oven - we made yummy pizzas. Beautiful views and a great open plan living area to share our time. Lots to do and explore with awesome beaches nearby. Definitely recommend.

Perfect for families

Warm, comfortable and spacious holiday house with amazing views. Very well equipped with everything you need for a family getaway. We loved the pizza oven and the wood burner fireplace (fire wood supplied). Only a short stroll to the lagoon, which had been a hit with our 3 year old. Great communication by host.

This is an outstanding beach home in Mangawhai. Surrounded by views of the beach from just about every room, this house was spacious, light, immaculately presented and quite perfect! We would love to come back one day - we has the loveliest Winter break at Magical Mangawhai. We would highly recommend this property to others, you will have the most wonderful holiday!

Awesome!

This is the perfect property and location for a large family get together. The house is a big size with plenty of space for both adults and children. It is Lao fully catered faith everything you need! The pizza oven is a lot of fun and makes great pizzas and the table tennis room was an added bonus to occupy the kids. The location is fantastic with a short walk to the estuary and 3 min drive to a lovely beach. Natalie was great with anything we needed as wel as the property manager who answered any questions we had. We would highly recommend!

Mangawhai Magic

The elevated view means you don’t have to leave the deck! Cook and relax from the open plan kitchen and settle in to escape the city chaos. A simple downhill walk to access the Estuary side for a plunge or water sport activity. A walk or 2 min car ride for all the local conveniences. The best Italian style bakery (cheese sticks and bread puff pies!) is a true treat, not to mention making your own pizza in the properties authentic outdoor pizza oven. We will be back. Such an accommodating family stay where everything is provided. Just arrive and chill out. One of the best spots on the hill top. Didn’t have much of a need to explore outside of this spot- but Bush walks, surf beach and much more awaits. Mangawhai is the best!

Amazing views

The property was fantastic and was as expected from the listing. Amazing view which gave a great first impression. Family were very happy with the find when they arrived from AKL. The description of location for arrival was accurate and when it says the drive is steep, it is VERY steep both up and down and took some getting used to- not for nervous drivers. The oven top was induction which is great technology but only works with certain pans (we have induction at home) so not all pans worked and was a bit frustrating when trying to cook a meal. Lost a star for cleanliness as our bedroom (Master on the living rom level) had lots of squashed mosquitos on the ceiling that hadn't been cleaned. Otherwise, fantastic few days away.

Stunning is an accurate description!

Absolutely loved our stay here. I stayed with family to celebrate my birthday and the house layout was perfect to accommodate three couples and my teenage daughters. Everyone had their own space and it made for a relaxing, seamless weekend. The house itself is stunning with incredible views. Great location and very handy to shops and amenities.Would highly recommend for a getaway in Mangawhai.

Another Great Holiday

Had a great holiday again. With split levels, multiple living spaces, and bathrooms on each level it is perfect. Fantastic views over the boat ramp, across the Bar and Barrier. The pizza oven and wood fired grill allow you to cook old school style. We recommend this lovely home to anyone who is considering it.

Great location but next to a work sight

The property itself is fine. We had great difficulty dealing with VRBO to the point where we had to hand the cash balance over to the owner herself as the company couldn’t utilise our credit card. Then while the house itself was excellent for our needs the driveway was a nightmare with two cars badly damaged as the angle of the driveway to the garage floor is far too steep. Also there is a very large house being constructed next door so we did not get to sleep in past 7am which being on holiday was disappointing. The garbage situation was perplexing as there is a sign warning of a $100 fine if you don’t put the wheelie bins out on a Monday night . Our rental finished on a Friday, there were no wheelie bins and we certainly couldn’t have carried the bins provided up and down the drive so we were promptly fined $100 and accused of breaking a bar stool of which no knowledge and damaging the driveway which was heavily gouged by previous hapless drivers

Great views!

Great overall experience. Sunrise watching from your bed, can’t be beaten. The size of the property was excellent for our grown family with enough privacy for all and space to stretch out. Amenities are excellent. The driveway is very steep as the owner has addressed and can cause issues with elderly or young drivers/pedestrians. But allows for the great views. Possibly a concave driveway mirror at the top of the rise would help with visibility moving forward.

Another great holiday

Great views of the estuary and coast, made better by great weather. The pizza oven is a great way to test your skills and the outdoor BBQ adds to the cooking with fire experience. The newly renovated bathrooms were the icing on the cake.

We are an Auckland based family with six (6!) children, two boys and four girls. We all really enjoy the relatively short commute up to Mangawhai to visit friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Why they chose this property

With such a beautiful view all year round you’ll never feel cooped up even if the weather isn’t on your side. It is so close to town, just a walk away as well from the estuary so there’s no need to get in a car every time you need to leave the house.
