Cabin was cute and cozy. Close to downtown Clayton and other area attractions. Plenty of room for our needs. My only suggestion to improve the stay is to reach out to the guest with check information before hand (I had to reach out) and also to provide a binder/folder with the wifi info, check out instructions (detailed) and possibly include some information on area attractions. Other than that - great stay and would stay again.
We had a great stay! There was so much to explore nearby and lots of restaurants when we wanted to get out. The hot tub was the best part as we needed to relax after hiking.
My friends and I enjoyed our stay in Clayton. Plenty of shops and restaurants on the Main Street in town. The home was generally clean (but could stand a deep clean), the hot tub was nice. We took advantage of the large dining table to play games and enjoy snacks. You do have to sort of use the neighbors driveway to turn around, but that was ok. Overall, it was a nice home for the weekend.

We really enjoyed the overall location and size of the house. Having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was perfect for our group. The home was comfortable and spacious. It’s not as secluded as the listing suggests as it shares a driveway and is only 50 yards from another house where people drive motorcycles in and out often. Not the “secluded”, quiet we were hoping for. The decor was really random and cluttered both inside and out (porch and deck) which allowed for a lot of dust and cobwebs. Having said that, the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were all quite clean. The hot tub was nice, but was on the side where the other house is, so not private. While we enjoyed our stay, we will not likely return to this specific location.

Upon arrival, outdoor patio furniture was dirty, cushions stacked up haphazardly and not ready for guests. We had to clean up the outdoor area. Dirty beach towel and underwear found on deck near hot tub. Hot tub had clean water but was dirty around the edges. Dishwasher was still full upon arrival. No pillow cases on bedroom upstairs. No place to hang clothes in upstairs bedroom due to LOCKED closets with DO NOT OPEN SIGN. Washer and dryer locked away as well. Nice place in general, just not ready for paying guests.

The residence was "adequate" but would not be one to which we would return. It was very dated and lacked some expected amenities, such as: the thermostat was erratic in providing heat, each bedroom lacked quality and quantities of pillows, master bedroom had unvacumned floors, property manager failed to return call (as he'd promised) after he was contacted about a missing tv remote that enabled access to live tv, no information was avaiable on on where outside garbage bin was for required after-stay garbage disposal, master ensuite bathroom need new light, and in that same bathroom one had to manuallly reposition thr flush handle to prevent ongoing water flow and flushing noise.

Our stay was a family vacation-6 adults total (3 adult siblings and spouses). Having 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms was perfect. The home was quiet, comfortable and conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and activities. We enjoyed the Foxfire Museum, dining at Fortify Pi, shopping, and Black Rock Mtn State Park. The recommendations I would mention are: cleaners should pay closer attention to cobwebs hanging from doorframes and light fixtures inside, need a better can opener, batteries not working in several things, need more nightlights, more cutlery and coffee mugs, no hand soap in the upstairs bathroom and hand soap elsewhere was almost empty or very watered down. Instructions on how to operate the shower (you have to pull down on the tip of the faucet) would be helpful. Additionally, the patio area and yard could have been neater; tall grass, cobwebs, dirty pillows piled up on porch bench probably were for the patio chairs.
We loved this property! Only 45 ish minutes from Helen. Right around the corner from Ingles. Cute downtown area! Helpful property manager. There were a few opposed or improvement that I think could make a huge impact on the guest experience.1. Our check in email came late in the evening after we had to reach out to the property manager for help. Part of the problem could have been that the property is in the mountains and my cell/email/enter net access was limited.2. I must have over looked that there was not washer/dryer access. This is fine but would have helped me packed better for my kiddos.3. A guest book with easy to access info on the local food/activities and checkout procedures.4. There were not pot holders so we had to purchase on our own.

The Unpleasant Surprise
We were surprised immediately as we drove up to the house! Trash had been strewn across the front from an overturned trash can; porch and furniture were still covered in yellow pollen. Cleaning supplies were on shelves by the door. Yard was uncut and needed much attention, and the house needed some upkeep! Upon entering, we saw sagging, dirty furniture and definitely not the look pictured online. There was a smell to this sitting room furniture! The baths seemed clean but the soap in one bath was old and moldy. It should be removed if not usable! There was no accommodation for sitting luggage and just sitting in bedrooms. Though the location of the house was perfect for what we came to do, we were very disappointed and actually surprised that VRBO is sponsoring this place.
