We really loved this place and would definitely stay again. The description of a space at the top of the stairs with a trundle sofa/bed as a "Bedroom with 2 single beds" caused us some difficulties (and yes, we should have paid more attention to the written description and the photos). And it would be fantastic if the Chalet had its own hot tub. I understand that it would be expensive and you have water supply issues, but we never used the shared hot tub because it would have felt weird to go into the Lodge's space. There were people staying there with a number of dogs and it would have felt really awkward to have a group of people walking through their yard to the tub. Everything else, though, was great.
We loved staying here are hope to again. The big disappointment is that we were told of ongoing issues with the air conditioner (that it wasn't working) just before arrival. It was VERY uncomfortable upstairs in the master suite. Our friends didn't sleep at all. We slept in the downstairs bedroom which wasn't much better AND those windows didn't open. The dining room was stifling. After a very hot day riding motorcycles from Spokane we were miserable. I honestly would never rent a place that didn't have air conditioning as that is our preference. It would have been nice to have been offered a discount or been given a chance to make a different decision. Also being asked to turn the instant hot water heater off when we didn't need hot water, and also asked not to use the clothes washer for our personal use, it starts to feel like the issue is electricity expenses...at our expense. Perhaps raise the cost of renting the home a bit and allow your guests to be comfortable for their stay. This is just how it felt. Pluses: The kitchen is magical.
This luxury home and deck overlooking the Kootenay lake made for the most intimate and beautiful wedding!
Parents of the groom and bride shared this house where we hosted a rehearsal dinner, the most stunning wedding dinner on the deck and a Sunday brunch. The kitchen has everything you could dream of, and working together for an elegant meal or serve yourself was surprisingly stress free. Room for lots of helping hands and counter space to prepare or serve.
I can’t decide what the best part about the venue was as the main events were a perfect set up, the private hikes back and forth to the beach for days of fun, great games area for evenings, and as the parents we got such decadence in the tub built for star gazing, wonderful peaceful sleep, and coffee on the deck in the morning (the rest of the wedding party and guests stayed in the other two homes on the same property.)
We would highly recommend it a for special events and gatherings for all ages.
For those considering a small event, the deck for a wedding of 22 people was great! Chairs and tables were rented by a great young couple from J&J Rentals, Beautiful video done by Beansprowt media. Cakes by Betty. Flowers by Hummingbird Farms.
Great Kootenay businesses and people!
