Amaroo House is a unique recipe of informal country living with an industrial vibe.

It welcomes groups with a maximum of 8 adults and up to 4 children (maximum 12 guests in total)

Pets are welcome on request—please provide details of your pet at the time of booking for approval.

This comfortable, two storey house has four bedrooms, large family spa bathroom with whirl tub, toilet and shower. Full laundry with toilet. The upstairs retreat with open beam ceilings features a Queen bed with en-suite and walk-in-robe. Small lounge and a table for two. Downstairs a colourful bunk room with two bunks and a full size trundle comfortably sleeps five with a few toys and games. Double doors opening to the courtyard where the blackboard and easel for the creative ones can be found. Next is a beautifully decorated Tri bunk room (Double bed with Single bunk above). The last bedroom features a Queen bed beautifully styled retro bedside tables and lights double doors open to the courtyard.

Offering space, comfort, tranquillity and glorious views. Sleeping up to twelve guests (with a maximum of 8 adults), this beautiful luxury home and pool is set on three acres, perfectly positioned between Berry and Seven Mile Beach. Tucked away at the base of Coolangatta Mountain.

The open plan living area has a comfy L shaped lounge with 50inch TV and bluray DVD, and a wealth of board games. A large 12 seater dining table. A second lounge area situated around the log burner leading across to the well equipped kitchen and breakfast bar.

The covered back deck has a dining table for you to savour the view or put up a hanging chair a enjoy the moment. Amaroo is surrounded by a luscious expanse of green lawns, which is the perfect spot for a game of soccer, boulles or to soak up the natural serenity with commanding views of Cambewarra lookout and Berry Mountain. For the more adventurous, ride the mountain bike trail in the back paddock or climb up Coolangatta Mountain for great views of the Illawarra and ocean. The property also has a large swimming pool to cool off after an adventurous day or there's the outdoor spa to soak in at night whilst enjoying the magnificent skies!

Things to note:

A tenant lives on site in a separate cottage on the property, she does not have access to the main house.

Bookings made for a Thursday and Friday nights or Sunday and Monday nights are charged at the full weekend tariff

Firewood is provided from Easter Long weekend - October long weekend (or as per direction from NSW Rural Fire Service)

From 19th December - 27th January

What a fantastic property!

This is the perfect property for a family getaway. Dinners on the balcony and chilling in that spa - heavenly with a gorgeous aspect. Really characterful touches through the house and we’ll set up for kids of all ages.

A nice getaway to the countryside

A nice place and a great getaway from the CBD so it was very enjoyable. The Spa was good (little run down) and the pool was not heated so our timing was not ideal (towards winter). getting there was easy, lots of amenities made available for us so it was a very pleasant stay. recommend the getaway.

Awesome holiday house

Perfect little getaway for the weekend ( or even for the week) communication during the whole process was easy and prompt. The layout of the property with all its facilities exceeded our expectation. Lots to do and lots of space for downtime if needed. We already talked about when we should go next! Juts hope it will be in summer so we can make use of the awesome pool.

Farwell weekend away

We (5 adults and 5 kids) stayed here as a last weekend for one of our friends. It was a beautiful property with lots of thoughtful bits and pieces in the house. The cupboard was full of condiments and there was plenty of toys for the kids. We loved the hot tub! It was too cold to use the swimming pool, but I can imagine it would be fabulous in the summer. We felt that 2 nights was too short, and wished we booked a 3rd night. Lovely property!

Rustic charm with home comforts

Amaroo House was a true home away from home, plenty of home comforts available - comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, heaps of books and toys and outdoor games to keep children entertained. The Hot Tub was a lovely addition with gorgeous views. The only down-side was that the cleanliness of the property was a little below average both internally and externally - heaps of rustic charm and character but could have done with a deeper clean.

Amazing private getaway - is it for sale?

The property was fantastic. Well looked after, well stocked of all household essentials and luxuries. It’s definitely someone’s holiday home so everything a house would need is there (Feels a little creepy if you’re not used to that). All we needed was to bring our food and we didn’t have to leave to enjoy our time away. No AC so it’d get hot it the extreme summer heat being a wooden cabin and tin roof. BUT the pool, jacuzzi and amazing setting makes up for it - I wish I owned it and could visit more often. Con: the driveway needs redoing and is risky to navigate in anything lower than a small SUV, though we were given fair warning. There is a small Delaware dwelling on the same property behind the house just opposite the driveway (10-15 meters from the car port/undercover outdoor area). They weren’t home while we were there (only a weekend stay), but it would take away from the “private getaway feeling” knowing someone was living so close to the outdoor areas. We were told there was another dwelling on the property that was normally only used on weekdays, though didn’t expect it to be so close to the house.

Rude property managers

Prior to our stay, I read a few reviews that mentioned that the lawn was unkept during other peoples’ stay, so I called the property manager in advance to ensure it would be cut prior to our arrival, as I have a toddler who would be playing outside. We arrived to an unkept lawn, with wasps outside, a dead bird on the back patio and spider webs everywhere, so I had to keep my toddler indoors at first. I was quite disappointed because the property should have been cleaned prior to our arrival, like every other property we have ever stayed at. Instead, their maintenance man and their pool cleaner arrived, announced in the middle of our holiday to clean the property. We were not informed of their arrival and we were quite shocked to see strangers walking around the property. . They were there mowing and cleaning up on our second day there, while my toddler was trying to nap and while we wanted to use the facilities. I called their property manager to voice my concerns and was told it was not their issue and that the owners would only offer a couple of hours late check out for the inconvenience. They were very condescending and did not see any issue with my concerns of an unkept property and unannounced maintenance during our stay. If you want to stay at this property, I suggest asking what their maintenance schedule is like because they will have no issue with you arriving to an unkept property and having their cleaning team arrive while you are in the middle of your holiday, without letting you know. The property manager told me that the cleaning team were delayed because of rain and should have been there before we arrived. The cleaning team told me that they always come on Fridays and that the property managers asked them to arrive on that day. So not only did they not care about my issues, they also lied.
