Funky, modern studio apartment with great lake and rural views. See beautiful sunrises over the lake from the comfort of your bed. The large 42 square metre space provides comfortable sleeping, living and dining, with a separate kitchenette. Outdoor patio with BBQ and outdoor dining. Well provisioned kitchenette with combination washer/dryer, large fridge/freezer, microwave and hotplate. All furniture and appliances are new in 2025. Access is via the large slider on the lake side or the kitchenette door on the other side. The studio is part of our home but is completely separate and private. This is a semi-rural lifestyle property and the most noise you are likely to hear is from the local birdlife. You may also hear our sheep in one of the adjacent paddocks. Come and enjoy a slice of paradise in Hamurana. 500 metres to lake and Hamurana Reserve walkway. Only 7kms (8 minutes) drive to Ngongotaha Village and 15 kms (18 minutes) drive to Rotorua City and its many attractions.

I have been hosting for 20 years. My business is The Willows, a spacious holiday retreat at Kawaha Point, Rotorua. My fiancee, Lora, and I met at San Francisco Airport on 30 January 2025 and, following a whirlwind romance involving many trips between New Zealand and the USA, bought our home in Hamurana in October 2025. The property has a perfect space for short term rental use. We both love travelling, meeting people and hosting guests, so this was the ideal arrangement for the property. My interests are football, music, movies, mountain biking and travel. My two adult sons also live in Rotorua and my eldest has also provided me with three grandchildren to keep me entertained.
Why they chose this property
Hamurana is a semi-rural enclave overlooking and adjacent to Lake Rotorua. Our property at Fryer Road has fantastic views of the lake and surrounding countryside. We have 6,000 square metres of paddocks around the house on which we graze 5 sheep. The Hamurana area is very quiet and peaceful and the people are extremely friendly. The lake and Hamurana Reserve with its 5km of lime chip walkway is 500 metres down Fryer Road. I have lived in Rotorua for 40 years and love the area, the lakes, the forests for mountain biking, the geothermal features and vibrant Maori culture. It is also only 7 kms from Ngongotaha, 15 kms from Rotorua and 49 kms from Tauranga.
What makes this property unique
Everything in the studio is brand new. The space is welcoming, spacious and funky. It is very peaceful and has fantastic views. You will be able to see the gorgeous orange morning sun rise while lying in bed.
