The Property Located with views of the Muskoka River along the peaceful Matthiasville Road, Cedar Shores Lodge offers a true Muskoka escape without the crowds. Set on roughly two sprawling acres of maintained lawn, there's room to spread out, play, and unwind — all with the river as your backdrop. The waterfront is the heart of this property. A sandy, gradual entry makes it ideal for wading in and cooling off, while the river deepens nicely for a proper swim. Bring a picnic down to the water's edge, fire up the supplied fire bowl (subject to local fire restrictions), and settle in as the river drifts by. An amount of firewood is provided — if you need more, you're welcome to gather appropriately sized deadfall from the surrounding bush.

Fishing — The Muskoka River holds walleye, pike, and more. Bring your gear and an Ontario fishing license. Fireside — Fire bowl and picnic table right at the shoreline. Lawn games — With two acres of grass, you've got the perfect canvas for croquet, bocce, cornhole — bring your favorites. Deck — Good-sized with a gas barbecue and river views.

Highly prepared cottage, a lot of things in store. But there is some issue on VRBO platform that causing communication very painful, so the communication was not as responsive as expected
We stayed 6 nights with 3 kids ages, ranging from 4 to 19 and had a fabulous time. The place is clean, massive with a fully stacked kitchen, towels and beautifully set up bedrooms. It has 2 washrooms and the check in and out time was another rare feature of this location. The location is very quiet, across from the river. The boys were able to bike as traffic is very low in the area, almost none. The deck is great. It gets lots of sun - the only missing item was a patio umbrella. Lots of games to play and a smart TV. The location is a short drive to town where you can shop for anything you need. Alex was amazing with communication and any help we needed. I would come back here, for sure.

Thankyou for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.
Kind regards,

We took a bit of a gamble as this was a new listing but we were so happy we did! It was a last minute surprise for the kids who range in age from 7-12. They loved their rooms and there were games for a rainy day or evenings. The kitchen is massive so that worked perfectly with this many kids! It looks as though they have just put the deck on and it provided a perfect spot to watch the kids from. The water was clean and easy to enter from the shoreline. There was a road to cross to get to the river so the deck became our look out. (road was super quiet). Really appreciated having laundry facilities!! It was a short 10 minute drive into town and there's lots to do in Bracebridge and everything we needed was right there. This location seemed central to so much but the kids truthfully wanted to hang out in the water and use the kayaks when possible. Cottage was lovely. Clean, well laid out and a perfect getaway for families. Would book this again.
