Beautiful house. We stayed 7 nights and had a wonderful experience. House it well kept and clean. The location is perfect. You can go scallop or go to the springs. Had many relaxing nights at the downstairs patio.
We stayed for the month of February 2025.The house was exactly as described and met all of our expectations. Check-in process was smooth, owner was clear and helpful. The neighborhood was quiet with the exception of the Commercial fishing boats, which it to be expected. We would definitely book again if the unit is available.
We stayed here because it is close to family and really the spacious property...wife loved sitting on the balcony and watching the biats come in and out. Lots of restaurants nearby.
The Oliver‘s place was very lovely and exactly as the pictures show. The home was very spacious and comfortable and we loved to especially sit outside on the porch. Often times we would go down to the patio and dock area to sit in the sun or have our afternoon coffee. One of our interests is to take walks and enjoyed walking through the nice neighborhood and also the nature center nearby. All the stores and restaurants are near by. We especially enjoyed the Silver Dolphin which we frequented a number of times for breakfast. David was very accommodating to make sure that we had everything we needed and was always very courteous. All in all, we had a very lovely month at this beautiful VRBO home.
Our 1 year anniversary was one for the memory bank! Not much had changed since our last stay, and as usual felt like home. Very clean, great water pressure and PLENTY of hot water! Only downfall was the restaurant accross the water shut down due to hurricane so no live music on the weekend...bummer! Had the opportunity to eat at the Silver Dolphin again and the food was great. All the amenities you could ask for and ease of access to the boat ramp and the Gulf of America..yes I said it!We will be back again for sure!
A nice clean, newer home on the water. The house is across from the commercial docks used by the local shrimp and crab fleets with abundant wildlife around
We rented this property for a week for our honeymoon with the intentions of fishing as much as possible and this place was perfect for us. I caught a stingray from the back deck, we enjoyed live music from the restaurant behind the home, and overall we had a great experience. The downstairs fish station was great to have. Thank you for a great stay.
Love the place had a good time they need to check it beforehand there was a molded cucumber and left in the refrigerator you couldn't walk on the floor because it was dirty.Every time we went to bed we had to wash our feet before we got in there but otherwise the house was not
This home is nice and location is good for this area. The commercial fishing boats were fun to watch. The owner is great to work with and helped us with unlocking the thermostat so we could cool the house down to what we prefer during the night. Neighbors are friendly and we would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay and would like to come back. We had to leave a couple days early because of Hurricane Helene. David the host was great, the home is beautiful and I caught a lot of Catfish and small Pinfish off the dock. They were thrown back but it was fun catching them. I would highly recommend this property. The Lei-Lo restaurant, walking distance from the home, was nice. A public boat ramp is nearby, just north of the property. Next time we might bring our boat. The Gulf is easily accessible.
Home was “squeaky” clean. Communication and check in, super easy. We enjoyed the canal view and evening music from the local restaurant.
Thank you for making your well appointed home available to us and our pups! We had an enjoyable and relaxing month in Hernando Beach!
The property was obviously newer and well maintained. Nicely furnished, spacious and comfortable. Well designed for a fisherman - especially if you have your own boat. Cleaning station on the deck, numerous hoses plus storeroom with a half bath are ideal for Anglers. I was looking forward to launching and using the kayaks provided but there was no convenient or safe way for us to get into them because the dock is so high above the water. A launch station would be nice. Fortunately I have my own kayak and was able to launch and fish in other areas. The shrimp boats across the canal were interesting and music from the restaurant directly across filled the air most nights. The Host and especially his son were great in communicating areas to visit and fish. Thank you for the tips Jared! Overall we were satisfied with the property- it has a lot going for it.
Everything on the property was as advertised and included no surprises. Communications with the owner was spot on and very accommodating and very helpful answering any questions and providing suggestions. Location was great. On the water, docking with space for 1 large boat or 2 moderate sizes. Minutes away from anything you might need or where you want to be. The local bar provides live music across the water till 9pm, where you can enjoy from the property or close the deck and ignore. Plenty of fish mongers to fill the fridge with if you chose not to catch it from the dock.
If I were to be critical about anything, it would be the light visit of "noSeaums" in the evening, but they don't stay for long. There are fans on the balcony that helps with this, but the Seaums only stick around for dusk and dawn.
You will enjoy the location. Just treat it well and leave it clean.
We enjoyed 6 weeks at this location. Weekend nights were spent on the balcony eating dinner and listening to live music from the highly rated Zig Zags restaurant right behind the canal. The music can be heard from the balcony but if you want silence just step inside. Also music is only from 6-9 so if you turn down early no issues. In the day time we drove less then 1 mile and rented a pontoon boat and took the 15 minute ride to relax and play in the flats. When we weren’t in the gulf we spent the day on the river which is a 5 minute ride to Rogers park where you can rent a John boat, kayak or launch your own kayaks free of charge. Enjoying the crystal clear water. If you want to stay on property there is a huge dock set for fishing with tons of bait and poles. You can also kayak in the canal behind the house as there are 3 kayaks on property. In summary great location, close to all the major dinning and boating activities. Large dock just down the canal from boat launch if you want to bring your own boat and park for the duration of your stay. This place has it all but most important to my wife was it was very clean!
Its hard to describe this home in just a few words, so please take a few minutes to read this review. First and foremost, we have nothing negative to even mention, the home is exactly as described here. Clean in and out. Live band/s on the weekends - The music was easy on the ears, did not keep us up at night. Bring your boat! Docking is more than sufficient for a 38ft + there. Several hoses around the home and the dock. The launch ramp is maybe 100 yards from the home, and its a mere 1/4 mile idle zone and then full throttle through the markers out into the gulf. The ice machine is a HUGE bonus if your there for fishing. Downstairs is a locked room (you get a key for). We left all of our fishing gear down there. Large bait freezer, a regular refrigerator for all your drinks. Also has a restroom. Upstairs was great. The entire home is a "beach/fishing" theme. (I want the giant grouper from the living room!). All rooms were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were great, with AWESOME WATER PRESSURE!! I wish I had that kind of pressure at home. Hot water was plentiful, even after several showers in a row. Kitchen area is large, with all needed cookware and utensils. Living room is well laid out with more than enough seating for several guests, and right off the living room is the balcony for morning sunrises. Communication is A++. Great restaurants literally right down the street. Make sure to visit the Silver Dolphin. We will definitely be booking this home again. Thanks!!!!!!!!
David and his wife Lisa have both dedicated their lives to helping others. David is currently a retired lieutenant firefighter and has worked for the Alachua County Fire Department for +25 years. His wife Lisa has been a nurse for +10 years at Shands Hospital and currently works in the E.R. department. They both have a passion for helping others and a love for the great outdoors. They enjoy spending time with family and friends at their vacation home in Hernando Beach, Fl. There is always something to do whether it is spending time with family and friends at the sandbar or making unforgettable memories on their many fishing trips.
Why they chose this property
David and Lisa chose this property because they loved the area. When you just want to relax you can sit out on the patio and have a view right over Zig Zags Scallops to listen to the live band. The property is also conveniently located seconds from the boat ramp. They built a 40 ft dock to accommodate their boat and any size boat of their guest. You can also catch plenty of fish right from the dock. They have outfitted the house with great features for their friends and family that their guest have access to and can enjoy including 3 kayaks.
