Casa Acero is Spanish for steel house and is located in a residential neighborhood on a quiet street within a 5 minute drive to everything Alpine. Constructed and decorated with mostly repurposed steel and other materials, the property has an industrial look and feel, inside and out. In addition to utilizing recycled construction materials, the house is powered with 100% renewable energy. This electricity powers three (3) mini-split units that provide both heating and cooling.

Inside amenities feature a fully stocked kitchen with all the tools you need to craft delicious meals, including a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, and more. Gather around the kitchen island or dine al fresco on the porch, taking in the peaceful surroundings. Stay connected with free 300 mb/s broadband Wifi , or enjoy a movie night on the smart TV while seated on a supple leather couch. When the day is done, retreat to the comfortable bedrooms, where you'll find plush linens and bedding items including luxurious mattresses (king-sized Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme & queen-sized Sleep Number 360). For laundry needs, you'll appreciate the convenience of the in-unit washer and dryer.

Outdoor enthusiasts will delight in the 4-person hot tub, cast iron fireplace, covered seating area, table, 4 chairs, and Weber propane BBQ grill. These amenities allow you to enjoy the cool mountain, starry skies, or simply soaking up the tranquil ambiance.

I have stayed here before and everything was just as good as last time. Derek is a great and communicative host. I did not use the hot tub but it looked clean. The location is near the university and close to dining. Nicely decorated and comfortable, a great place to stay.

My friend and I needed a place to stay with a plan to go to Balmorrhea. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Hosts communicated quickly and efficiently. It was a great experience.

Nice place!

I ended up ill and unable to go, but my husband enjoyed his time at the location, it was close to the wedding festivities he was attending, and clean, nicely decorated. He did not get to use the hot tub out back but it was clean.If we head out that way again will rebook.

We love Casa Acero!

This is our second year to rent this wonderful home. It is perfectly appointed with everything you need. Plus this year they added a hot tub! We spent every evening by the outdoor fireplace after a day in the area. Derek is quick to respond to you if you have forgotten to bring something! We will stay again! It’s like home!

So glad we found this rental! Alpine is a beautiful little town and this house was a great option for our family. Included everything we could have wanted or needed. Our family of 5 had plenty of room and the outdoor space was nice in the evenings.

Texas mountains

Was a wonderfully comfortable house to return to after a day spent hiking in the Davis mountains and Chisos mountain in Big Bend National Park. Beds and bedding were like sleeping in a marshmallow cloud of comfort, shower pressure and temperature was great, Kitchen well stocked and spacious. Fenced yard was great for safety of puppy play, concrete floor was easy to sweep and keep clean.

Quiet time

Beautiful time to be in west Texas. The house was everything we needed and the neighborhood was very quiet. The owner was quick to respond when I realized I left something behind, and he offered a solution that worked for both of us. I would definitely come back.

We saw and enjoyed exactly what we'd read in the property description and ammenities listed. So appreciative of being able to bring our dog, pet friendly. She is considered family to us. The suggestions for us on how to best cool the rooms, great added detail. Very clean and simple. Bare minimum a few improvements for my 'old' eyes is to add brighter bulbs or additional light fixtures in the kitchen area. Nice location, right in town, not far from anything. Would absolutely rent again, next time we visit.

Nice place in nice/quiet neighborhood

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a legit 2-bedroom/2-bathroom. It is very well redone inside. The kitchen/living room area is open and spacious. There was plenty of room for all the things we brought with us. The king bed in the master bedroom is comfortable. The master bath has a tub/shower combo. The tub seems a little bigger than standard and there is plenty of room for showering. The second bathroom has a standup shower that was a little smaller than I would like, but it wasn’t objectionable. Not really an issue. I assume the bed in the second bedroom is as comfortable as the bed in the master as we did not sleep in there. Plenty of outlets for our charging needs. The hot tub works well and was very relaxing after a long day at the park. The area is quiet, and I mean, real quiet, which was important. If we ever find our way out here again, we would definitely stay there.

The owners of this property have done just an amazing job at blending this beautiful home with the picturesque sights of Alpine and neighboring areas. Every detail has been taken into account from the extra provisions provided in both the fully stocked kitchen and Bathrooms. Extremely comfortable beds where you can get a good nights sleep and luxurious towels await for after a warm shower. Very quiet surroundings on a neighborhood street! We never heard a peep from anyone which made for a very relaxing getaway. You are just minutes from downtown Alpine or a scenic drive to any surrounding areas you wish to visit. Perfect for a couples retreat, a family getaway or a girlfriends out of town trip! We highly recommend this very pleasing home to all renters.

The house is great and very clean and well appointed. The kitchen is well stocked with everything to cook a nice meal. Good appliances, and very well maintained house. The beds are great and the space overall is very comfortable. They have done a great job adding everything that you need and updating all of the rooms and bathrooms. The back yard worked out very well for us as we travel with our dog. A fantastic place with easy access to everything in town.

My wife and I have deep roots in Alpine. We grew up there, started dating in high school and later married. Being experienced vacation rental hosts and having always loved the vibe of Alpine and West Texas, we made it a goal to host a house, so we bought Casa Acero. We then went to work to make it a place people will love to stay. We enjoy this type of project and the people we meet along the way, so it has been a labor of love.
