About this property

LOCATION! -Bean Point area w/pool. PANORAMIC WATER VIEW. Walk to Beach and town!

This is our much-loved AMI family home and we want you to have a wonderful visit. We are a midwestern family -we are easy going, open and friendly, we care for this special house and we go the extra mile for our guests. With that said, It is important to be aware that this is an island and these are private homes.

Note: The furnishings will look slightly different in that I have not yet had new pictures taken.

Standard but Important details: This home is booked at a weekly minimum. Maximum total occupancy is 6. We are registered with the City of Anna Maria for 6 guests and an acknowledgement of this is included in the guest agreement to be signed. The City of AMI provides oversight on this account so that full-time residents can have a peaceful place to live year-round. As is the standard when renting in Anna Maria, large gatherings or parties are not allowed (note: there are exceptions for certain grandfathered houses which does NOT apply to us).

Details**:
“BAYOU AT THE BEACH” is located one block to the beach, has a beautiful canal-view backyard, and is walking distance to the shops and dining of Pine Avenue. Set back and secluded. Bayou at the Beach feels like a secret house.

This fresh and bright 3 bedroom/3 bathroom single story home is great for 2 but also does well for a maximum of 6 guests with a king bedroom, queen bedroom and a guest room with one queen bed and two twin beds.

Enjoy the hassle-free single level living. Walk out your door to a beautiful backyard water view with no going up and down stairs to get to the pool!
The pool is heated and you can lounge on the deck and enjoy the island breezes.

Take a kayak journey to see the canal wildlife and interesting backyard areas of Anna Maria. 2 single kayaks are offered free of charge.

For added ease; WIFI, professional linen service, washer and dryer, beach towels and beach chairs are provided.

Not Allowed –Large Gatherings or parties, smoking or Pets. We have experimented with allowing others to bring pets, however nose marks, tiny scratches, etc make it hard to keep the house as fresh as we would like. Note: We do (once a year) bring our own very well-trained, managed pet.

You are vacationing in a quiet, more natural area. Please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level regardless of time (official AMI noise ordinance is 10pm-8am including pool play). Excessive noise can deprive neighbors of peaceful enjoyment of their home and the water definitely amplifies the noise.

Our host Amy was extremely responsive, personable and helpful. The location of our house was quiet and peaceful. We were within easy walking distance to the beach. The heated pool was lovely and well maintained. The house was clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Being up at the north end of the island is special. It was the oerfect place to be.

The house is was very clean and cute. The location is fabulous! Short walk to the beach, shops and a few restaurants. If you’re a Morning person, the sunrise view of the canal was stunning! There is an osprey nest in a tall tree a couple of houses away and we enjoyed watching the birds fishing and circling above. The beaches were very clean and not too busy on the north end of the island. Amy was very responsive when we had an issue that needed seeing to. Communication was top notch. There are still a lot of homes on the island with construction projects due to hurricane damage but nothing too close to the house. We could hear power tools occasionally from work being done a couple of blocks away.

The island is beautiful, the property is well-maintained and clean. The view is lovely. The house/kitchen is well-equipped. Amy, the owner was attentive, friendly and helpful. The blue heron came to visit and hung out by the canal several times. What a treat! Great vacation! Definitely recommend and would love to return in the future.

Great spot on Anna Maria! Right on the canal. Kayak’s available for use and we saw Manatee in the canal 4 days of our visit. Beautiful pool, house was clean and the kitchen had everything you need. Amy was responsive and easy to work with! We hope to visit again.

Simple, one story, clean, bright, well kept, close to town, beaches, and the bay side. The views from the pool/patio are better than most other houses we've seen. And we had a manatee visitor right to the dock. Can't say enough good things about the house, Amy, and the whole experience.

Great Anna Maria location away from any crowds

Amy was a wonderful host and great to work with when I had questions. The entire process was easy. The location was great. We all enjoyed our stay. Compared to other VRBO stays we have had over the last 8 years the kitchen was very minimally stocked for cooking at the house. It didn’t ruin our vacation at all but if you plan to cook this isn’t the best kitchen for you.

Sharon -We will do an inventory! This is the first that we heard about not having enough items to cook. The summer has been busy with guests so either the missing items were put in a strange location, broken/discarded or they have gone missing (the missing white bowls, pots, and pans are the strangest part?). We do a quarterly inventory for missing and damaged items. Everything was there at the beginning of the summer. We also personally cook ourselves....more than we go out.... so I completely understand the issue for you. We are super glad to have the feedback, just surprised to hear it. One thing any host would ask is to please don't be shy about communicating suggestions personally..... and as soon as you are aware, vs wait and put it in a review. We had no idea. We painstakingly worked on providing a plethora of kitchen items so that people can cook. Those of us that try really hard to accommodate a guest's many requests can be crushed by a review that comes as a blindside particularly when we could have easily accommodated. Then you would have had what you wanted while you were there! I hope your rescheduled flight home got easier and you were able to make many wonderful memories during your stay in AMI. This home was absolutely perfect - from the big windows overlooking the canal, to the pool, to the close walk to the beach, to the cozy beds and wonderful shower—it all was incredible. We loved kayaking right off the dock each morning, seeing all the beautiful birds and the peaceful location was such a blessing. Amy is a top notch host, who is excellent with communication and desires to make your stay wonderful! She truly is the best. Thankful to have found some a treasure of a home in such a magical location.

Wonderful experience

The house was perfect for our group. I really enjoyed the panoramic view of the canal outside the large windows on the back. The house itself was very nice in a quiet neighborhood with enough trees and foliage to make it seem almost private! I thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Anna Maria. I love the laid-back atmosphere and old-Florida feel of the entire island. It's on my bucket list for a do-over! Amy was great, a real help with the best places to eat, etc. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Perfection!

Everything about our experience was fantastic! The location is great - walk to Bean Point or into town for dinner. The canal in the back is a wonderful view for sitting on the lovely patio - we had manatees visit! We enjoyed the pool and the kayaks very much - even kayaked out to Tampa Bay. The house is clean and well furnished for everything you might need in the kitchen, to go to the beach, or even to bike around. The beds, pillows and linens were quality and very comfortable! I enjoyed communicating with Amy and she was very quick to answer any questions! We were a party of 3 adults (myself and two grown children) and it was quite roomy for us. Highly recommend!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Amy’s property. The house was in a great location. Very close to the beach. We loved staying on the canal for easy launch of kayaks and SUP. The pool was a great change of pace from the beach. We really loved the huge windows overlooking the pool and canal. The home was well equipped and more than enough space for our family of 4. Paradise vacation spot.

This location is truly spectacular, the landscaping around the pool makes you feel like your in a tropical spa. House is very nice for 6 people with a private bathroom for each bedroom, beds all comfy. Kayaking in the canal was really a treat. The walk to the beach is no problem and with the provided beach cart a breeze. The beach was spectacular for sure, like a private resort but a little people watching and wild life galore. We lived out stay. Amy is a super accessible host of you have any questions or issues she is on them immediately.

Perfection in Paradise

Our vacation could not have been better! Staying at this property truly felt like we were in a tropical paradise - surrounded by palm trees, a beautiful pool that overlooks the canal, white sandy beaches just a short walk away. Also, Amy was a fantastic host! Check-in/out was incredibly easy, the house was spotless and had all the amenities we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better first stay on AMI!
