This cabin sits on the bluff above the beach facing the salmon-rich waters of the Cook Inlet to the west, providing perfect views of the sunset from inside the house or the patio! Centrally located in the Kenai, you will be 20 min from Soldotna, 1hrs from Homer, 2hrs from Seward, and 3hrs from Anchorage.
The 'Foraker' cabin is the one of 7 private cabins at the Alaskan Sunset Cabins. We have a large, quiet and quaint property - perfect for a single or multi-family stay on the Kenai.
The ultimate cabin-style home. Downstairs is complete with a full size kitchen, dining table, spacious living room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. The king bedroom is upstairs with a private bathroom and laundry - plus a couch in the window facing the gorgeous cook inlet coast for sunset viewing. The patio, fire pit and hammocks in the yard are perfect for sunny afternoon and evenings.
We live in a home on the same property as our cabins. We are far enough away to give you plenty of space and privacy, but close enough to contact easily if needed.
The cabin is in a quiet rural community on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The most noise you will hear is the soft crashing of waves on the beach at high tide, or the occasional sound of a bald eagle stopping by on the bluff.

We had an excellent time. Super clean and comfortable. Great location for fishing and sightseeing. Hosts were wonderful. We will absolutely stay again.
Great views from the cabin which is on a small cliff overlooking the ocean, hosts were very helpful, they also had a cold storage operation which we could use to rack and freeze our fish, look forward to staying there again on next years trip.
Views were amazing. Everything was stocked for a home away from home. Planning on bring the whole family next year and renting the other cabins on the same property
The host went above and beyond when meeting our expectations. We are very grateful that you were so accommodating and the place was lovely and we look forward to staying with you in the future.
Beautiful home away from the city hustle. Our hosts were wonderful. Spectacular views from the deck. Lots of firewood provided free of charge. They even allowed us to take some rhubarb for a pie. Would love to stay here again sometime. Pictures were exactly like the home we stayed in.
We enjoyed our stay here, there were 6 adults so it was kind of tight and the downstairs rooms are pretty small but we spent most of our time outside. The owner was very nice, the place was clean and we really enjoyed the ocean view. There was no direct beach access from our cabin, we had to walk to an area where you could get down the bank which was fine. It was very quiet, the only thing we wish we would have had is a firepit but overall a great place.

We enjoyed our stay and loved the view overlooking the Cook Inlet.
The cabin was perfect for two couples( and room to spare) with two bathrooms.
The washer and dryer looked brand new.
The location was great for the Kenai area. We had a fishing excursion planned and it was in close proximity.
We had plenty of restaurants within a short drive.
I would recommend it if you are looking for a quite cabin with a nice view.
Size of the cabin was smaller than expected, but was very clean and had an incredible view off the back deck. Host was very friendly and accommodating. We would certainly do this trip again and stay at this cabin again…very pleased!!
Randy was awesome to deal with. He was very friendly and helpful the cabin was perfect everting was as advertised and in great working order. We would definitely stay here again Randy thanks for sharing your property with us.
You can't beat the view from this property! We watched countless eagles, and even watched a few seals hunting for salmon right from the cabin! The cabin was just like the pictures showed! It was clean and nice! It was a great springboard to other places as well. We traveled to Homer, Kenai, and Soldotna from here and seeing several moose along the way. We would definitely stay there again!
Great property for small family or group of friends. Located on bluff overlooking beach with views of mountains and easy beach access. Randy & Juanita Meier were very welcoming & helpful.

About the host
Hosted by Randy Meier
We moved to Anchorage from Idaho in 1976, and started spending summers in the Kenai soon after. We bought this property eight years later - starting with 3 small fishing cabins, and we've built 6 more since. We built the 'Foraker' cabin in 2006. We stay busy with the cabins and fishing during the summers, and enjoy the quiet winters in between.
Why they chose this property
Nearly all the lumber for the cabins came from the trees on the land where the cabins are today! Our location is conveniently close to commercial and recreational fishing opportunities, and miles of quiet beachfront along Cook Inlet. Our private, quiet property is on the Kasilof coast is centrally located on the Kenai - we are 1 hour from Homer, 2 hours from Seward, and 3 hours from Anchorage.
What makes this property unique
For those fishing during their stay on the Kenai, we have a fish processing facility on the property with freezers. If you stay at one of our cabins, you may clean and store your catch at no additional cost! You only need to provide your own packaging materials.
