Great location, but arrived to a dirty apartment despite paying a cleaning fee.

The location is fantastic and the apartment is spacious enough for a family — that part deserves credit. But the state of the apartment on arrival was simply not acceptable. The toilet reeked of urine, and the bathroom and kitchen clearly hadn't been cleaned at all. When you pay a mandatory cleaning fee, this is exactly what you're paying to avoid. We ended up cleaning the entire apartment ourselves before we could settle in. To be clear: we still had a wonderful holiday, and we'll happily return to Normandy. But the owner or agency seriously needs to look at their cleaning service — guests shouldn't have to do this themselves after paying for it.
