Summers Dream! Great Views - Flat Back Yard - Float Mat -Kayaks -Steps into Lake

Join us at Summers Dream for a relaxing vacation at the lake. The first thing you will notice when you drive up is the view of the water. The property includes a wide lakefront yard with an expansive water view from our 150 feet of lake frontage.

The lakefront yard includes two large flat grassy areas that provide an easy short walk to the water. There is only one set of 5 steps from the house to the large dock and double boathouse. The yard is perfect to set up a game of croquet, badminton, or corn hole (all provided). It’s a nice area for kids to run around or set up their camping hammocks (bring your own) in the trees which provide some welcome shade in the afternoons. There is also a fire pit area near the water perfect for enjoying s’mores.

We provide plenty of water toys for your enjoyment: 2 one person kayaks with paddles, a canoe (May through September), a large 6 x 18 floating island mat (Memorial Day through September), 3 floating lounge chairs, and many life jackets available for your use, all complimentary! It is a great place for kids to swim with 6’ depth at the end of the dock, gradually getting shallower towards the shore. Enjoy easy entry into the lake on large steps off the dock with a handrail. The floating swim island greatly enhances swim fun. Enjoy kayaking and fishing right from the dock or just relax in the comfortable Adirondack chairs.

The entire house is newly furnished with only two years on the rental market. Summers Dream has fantastic views of the water from all 7 rooms (except the bunk room). It is the perfect house for 1 to 2 families. It comfortably sleeps 8 to 10. Bed linens are provided and beds are made with 2 king beds, 1 pyramid bunk (1 double bed/1 twin bed), 1 twin bed, 1 twin daybed and 1 comfortable queen sleeper sofa..


All the bedrooms are very spacious. There is also ample storage space throughout the house. All the bedrooms include large closets with the master bedroom including a very large walk-in closet that can be used as a dressing area. Both the master bedroom and 2nd king bedroom have smart TVs. The home includes hardwood floors throughout the main living areas and carpet in the bedrooms.

A folding table can be used as a desk. A lamp with a charging port and a surge protector extension cord are also provided.

The open concept living/dining/kitchen, one floor living at Summers Dream is ideal for family vacations. It’s great for families with younger children that wouldn’t have to deal with gating off stairs inside the house. It’s also helpful for older relatives and anyone who doesn’t want to feel like they’ve spent half their vacation running up and down the stairs.

Enjoy your meals with views of the water at the main dining table that seats 8. There is an additional 4 person dining table for overflow seating, setting up your laptop, working on a puzzle, or family game night.

Relax in front of the large 55” smart TV in one of 5 recliners in the main living area. Close the barn doors in the adjoining sunroom to read a book, peacefully enjoy the water view or use the new queen sleeper sofa as private overflow sleeping area. The sunroom is large enough to leave the comfortable sleeper sofa set up as a bed.

The kitchen includes a large center island, gas oven, stainless appliances, plenty of counter space and a storage pantry. Small appliances include a mixer, blender, waffle maker and toaster. Laundry is available in the attached garage, which is also equipped with a ping pong table and a television (to attach your own game system) for your enjoyment. A second refrigerator provides extra space for food storage, bags of ice or cold drinks to take to the dock.

The two-level back patio has ample space for cooking on the provided gas grill, and includes a picnic table, and a second table (with chairs) that together provide enough seating for everyone to enjoy outdoor dining while taking in the amazing view.

The large dock has plenty of space to enjoy all that Lake Gaston has to offer. It is covered in vinyl (with grips). One side of the dock is fitted with long bumpers to accommodate any size boat and posts to aid getting on and off boats. There is a single jet ski lift. Several marinas are nearby to rent a boat or jet ski, and a large public boat ramp is located within 2 miles.

Great Creek has 2 miles to tube, ski, wakeboard, kayak and fish. Protected from the main lake by a culvert, Great Creek limits some of the boat traffic you will find on the main lake on busier days. In only a few minutes, you can take a short boat ride under the bridge to the main lake. Lake Gaston, located on the border of Virginia and North Carolina, is roughly 35 miles long and covers over 20,000 acres with 350 miles of shoreline.

The Great Creek Landing subdivision is less than 10 minutes from I-85, with rolling hills perfect for walking or jogging. Internet Wi-Fi via fiber, 3 Smart TVs, and a land phone line are all included. Weekly curbside trash pickup is provided without extra charge.

Providing a clean house is our top priority. We want our guests to feel comfortable, safe and relaxed in our house, so we make every effort to make sure the property is clean and neat prior to your arrival. We have implemented extra cleaning requirements between each party. We expect guests to be respectful of our home and amenities, and generally treat it as you would your own home.

We have a concrete driveway with about 4 parking spaces (2 additional parking spots are located in the cleared area of the woods off the driveway). Nearby area attractions include: Rosemont Winery (5 minute drive), Holly Grove Marina (2 minute drive), several golf courses (one is about 3 minute drive), and many dining and shopping options within a 20 minute drive.

We prefer Sunday-to-Sunday rentals. However, we will accept Saturday-to-Saturday bookings.
