Situated on one of the premier sandy beaches on the Connecticut coastline, this house is a true gem. The owners only list it on occasion so it gets less wear and tear than other listings.

Located on almost .75 lush acres, this 4-bedroom home sleeps 8 (plus a crib) and is a private oasis for just lounging around on the beach, playing in the yard with kids, or exploring Connecticut's coastal towns.

Walk outside and relax on one of your decks overlooking the ocean. Take a dip in the water - this exclusive beach is only accessible to the few homeowners who have houses on it. Explore nearby towns such as Guilford and Old Saybrook or spend the day in New Haven visiting the many downtown museums and shops.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Turn both thermostats down to 55 degrees (in the winter) or turn A/C up to 78 degrees (in the summer)
Please put all outdoor cushions back in the side porch and place all outdoor furniture back where you found it.
Please leave the two sets of keys on the counter with the welcome packet and make sure all doors are locked. When you leave, simply press the "Schlage" button on the keypad to the front door.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
You may not hire third party vendors to perform any function on the property including but is not limited to party rental, catering or valet services.
Apt unit above garage is occupied. Occupant doesn't have access to property besides driveway and garage apt. You may not park in garage / block garage

Perfect start to the summer

This was the perfect, most beautiful location with endless water views. Our teenage kids absolutely loved the beach and swimming to the dock. The yard is so large, a rare find for being on the water.

Excellent stay. Highly recommended.

My family spent a week at the house and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is fantastic, right on the water, with amazing views. It's a particularly good location for families with little kids (we have a four year old) because the beach is right out the door and you never have to get in the car. The beach itself is nice, filled with shells, and always empty. Many days we were the only people, other than a dog walker or two. The house is nice, clean, and well stocked. We had two small kids, my wife and I, and three grandparents staying at the same time, and we were comfortable. The property is beautiful and the ocean is visible from everywhere. The owner is extremely easy to deal with and answered all of our questions. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and great for taking walks. Madison and its large Stop & Shop is eight minutes away, and Guilford is 10 minutes in the opposite direction. We were very happy with our choice and would rent this houe again.

Wonderful spot with the water at the edge of the lovely yard. Typical New England beach house with well equipped kitchen, and lots of deck space. Perfect spot to relax.

Why they chose this property

This is one of the nicest properties in all of Madison. A large parcel of land with beautiful views and a sandy beach that can't be beat. The side yard is big enough to play football in and the landscaping makes it feel extremely private. We bought this house from NCAA basketball hall of fame member Jim Calhoun and rumor has it that Art Carney (The Honeymooners) and his brother used to live here.
