So, when you notified me that the AC wasn't working, even in the downpour of rain, we knew we needed to get it fixed immediately. We are thankful that the repair guy that we took with us and drove him to our lake house was able to fix it after dark. It worked out perfectly that you guys weren't even there and when you got back, you entered a home with a working ac unit! Yayyyyy!! I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at our home and that your time there was enjoyable with your family. But, I must admit, respectfully, I am a little puzzled based on the communication I have had with you and how much you enjoyed yourself at our home and how "very, very friendly" I was to you. You even stated that you saw the "best sunset" that you'd ever seen from your view on my deck. (And you know what I offered for you and your family that no other home owner would do) and you also had no problems at our home, so I am totally confused why my home only received an 8 out of 10 score with no issues with my home and your beautiful and relaxing views from our decks. I'm baffled actually. If something could have been improved upon, I would like to have known what it was but based on everything you have said to me publicly and privately, my B score does not match that. I can not improve upon something if I don't know what the problem is, and what caused any lower rating other than a perfect score and I have not been made aware of any issues or complaints whatsoever from this rental, quite the opposite. But, nonetheless, I appreciate your business and thank you.

We are so glad that you loved the lake view and appreciated the efforts we take in making sure all linens, towels, etc are cleaned with good smelling detergents! I love the smell of clean sheets and towels too! I do apologize for the "extra guests" you found;) In all seriousness, this is the time of year for spiders there. We can (and do) spray frequently in and out of the house for them, but since we live right on the water, it is common knowledge for those of us who own homes there that in July and August, some species of spiders are worse than normal this time of year. When we stay there ourselves, it is not uncommon for me to de-cobweb one day and they will be back the very next day. They are called a "house spider" and are actually harmless and catch flies and other bugs but they are unsightly, for sure! I believe this is what you experienced but please know, I de-cobweb before every single reservation! Those little boogers move fast and rebuild the next day, seriously and since our house is usually ready for a new rental days before a check in, those little pests have already returned. After the hot season, we don't see them as much and I'm sorry you saw them at all. Sadly, we have found that exterminators don't do much good with these spiders either. This is one of the sacrifices made living this close to the water because these homes are the ones that mostly see them. Again, I apologize. I'm pleased that you had an enjoyable time! During this rental, from the very beginning at check in, one of the kids played with my push Botton key code on the front door so much that they were locked out for a while (watched and heard all this from my ring camera). Parent was close by, could hear the kid punching numbers randomly and did not ask the child to stop. Several kids fished off my deck and left fishing hooks on one of the seat cushions to one of my outdoor chairs next to the deck railing. Black soil (worm dirt) was left all over my glass top table, embedded in 2 of my seat cushions that required extra scrubbing to get out and all over my deck floor. It was like ground into the wood where sweeping it just smeared it in. I had to scrub the deck boards to get it up. Either 1) no adults were on the deck after the kids finished fishing or 2) adults ignored the mess the kids left and did not attempt to get any of it up at all. Fishing line was also on the deck floor with a hook attached. My table and 2 chair cushions were an absolute mess, so much that there's no possible way an adult could walk by it and not see how filthy and disgusting it was left. The hooks in the chair could have resulted in injury to the next set of renters had I not checked them and if someone was bare foot, the hook on the deck floor could have went into someones foot. Lastly, one of the boys in this family was allowed to throw a ball around next to my sliding glass door, resulting in him literally shattering it, causing a substantial financial loss. This is a true evaluation of this rental so Any homeowner reading this that owns a rental property, I would not ever recommend renting to this renter.

We expanded that deck a couple of years ago so that people can get even a better view of the main channel and it was already an incredible view. My husband prefers shade over sun so he loves all the shade there. We are glad you did too! We hope you'll consider our home again if you decide to return to the Lake! I am so glad that you enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake from our home. It's a quiet, nice neighborhood so people do not bother you, so you do forget they are even there! I am sorry to hear that the showers were slippery but I believe your guests probably experienced that because they did not utilize the shower mats that were hanging up on the towel racks inside the shower. I always put them there after I clean the home but oftentimes, people over look them. They are nice thick mats with suction cups on the bottom and I hang them on a rod that's inside the showers. After you checked out, I found the shower mats still hanging in both the showers upstairs and they were dry. So I'm fairly certain they were not used. One is clear colored in the guest bathroom and in the master bathroom, that one is white and gray. I'm not sure why people overlook them at times, but unfortunately sometimes they do. I'm sorry that happened. We appreciate your business and we hope that the shower floor issue was not a deterrent for any future stays at our home. Thank you for your lovely complements of our nice clean home. I take pride in how well it's cleaned for renters and cleaning the showers and putting up the mats is just part of that process.
