This is a well-designed, recently renovated multilevel house with many amenities, inside and out. The saltwater pool and surrounding patio made for relaxing family time, with grills, comfortable couches and a large table with lighting for outdoor dining. The North Fork in August is overflowing with fresh vegetables, seafood and great wine. Orient Beach State Park, just down the road, is a beautiful place to swim, walk, and explore the shoreline and nature preserve.

Wonderful Family Vacation

The salt water pool was fantastic! We had a variety of family members from 1 year old to 60 years old and all enjoyed the property. Everything was neat, clean, and well maintained. We'll be back!

We were a group of eight women from NYC who rented this house for a weekend getaway. The house itself was in ok condition. Unfortunately, our experience with the hosts completely overshadowed that. Our rental included an additional 600 fee for a heated pool. When we arrived at the property the pool was freezing cold and we could not use it at all the first day. They turned the heating on the 2nd day. When we asked whether the pool could be kept heated and the temperature increased, we began receiving messages warning us that we would be charged additional heating fees. To avoid any unexpected charges, we clearly declined and asked them to stop heating the pool. What happened next was completely unacceptable and, frankly, unsettling. The father who helps his son manage the property came to the house in person during our stay and confronted us about the pool temperature. He began yelling at us and using aggressive and abusive language, insisting that the pool temperature was normal. For eight women staying together for a relaxing weekend, having an angry old man arrive at the property, enter the premises, and confront us in this manner was extremely disturbing. We no longer felt that we had privacy and safety in the home or that we could fully relax, knowing that they had access to the property and could appear whenever they chose to manage the pool equipment. The owner refused to refund the 600 for heating even though he promised he would do this on text.

Response from VrboOwner on 6 October 2026
In nearly a decade hosting, no guest has been this confrontational and abusive; our five-star record speaks for itself. On arrival, she used the wrong keypad code, raised her voice and claimed the door was broken. Vrbo found a full $600 refund unsupported; her review contradicts her messages and evidence. At 7:02 p.m. she asked for the pool to be ready by 8:00 a.m.; the heater was activated overnight. After saying 80°F was ideal, she wrote, “Says 82.” A photo showed 83°F; footage shows the group swimming. Calling the pool “freezing” and unusable is false. Only after confirming 82°F did she request 87°F, which was never promised. Temperatures fell into the 50s with cloud cover. An exposed 20-by-50-foot pool holding tens of thousands of gallons is not a hot tub and cannot reasonably reach or maintain 87°F in those conditions. CDC guidance places 83°F within its 79–86°F comfortable range. Once the prepaid $600 was verified, no extra charge was imposed. Her messages and exterior footage show my father came only after she asked someone to turn off the heater and asked if he could bring glasses; they refute any claim of uninvited or unauthorized entry. We categorically deny abusive language. They left over two hours late; we waived the fee. Off-platform, she conditioned a positive review on payment and threatened a negative review if refused. After repeated calls and threats, Vrbo directed her to stop contacting us. Her refund demand was rejected by Vrbo; this review followed.
