This home was incredible. The location is breathtaking and it’s a place you will never want to leave. The grounds are immaculate, the house is spotless and Kathleen has literally thought of everything you might need to have a wonderful vacation. The stairs down to the beach are great and it’s a wonderful rocky shore to explore. We had three generations and everyone enjoyed the location and home. This is a place we will come back to at some point, but for now the memories will have to hold us over. Thank you for sharing this amazing home with my family! We couldn’t have asked for anything more.
We love this home and the hosts that host us a couple times a year!! This time we got to enjoy the beautiful Fall foliage. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay in your gorgeous home and location.
This is our fifth time staying in this beautiful home that has everything you could ever imagine! The view is truly unbelievable even on a cloudy day.Thank you Kathy and Matt for sharing your stunning home with us once again! We look forward to our return this Fall.
This place was a dream. Beautiful home with stunning views. Close to Acadia but also away from the crowds. House had everything we needed. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home! We loved our stay here!
We wanted to go to Maine to see the beautiful fall foliage, Kathleen’s property allowed us to see the leaves changing and ocean all from the back porch! The property was clean, and had everything you could think of (games, kitchen supplies, fireplace, laundry) and an incredible ocean view! Kathleen was a great host and answered questions promptly. We all enjoyed our stay!
My family had an amazing week. The home was immaculate, beautifully furnished, and well stocked. The view was spectacular and abundant with local wildlife. We will definitely rebook. Thank you Kathleen for sharing your home!
Truly spectacular! Our group of 7 friends felt like we were staying at a friend’s house - it was that comfortable, clean, and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in, including a great selection of spices. The views are amazing! We enjoyed coffee on the front porch while watching the lobster boats and seals in the morning. There are steps down to the shoreline, and we could have sat on the rocks all day. You’re about a 50 minute drive into Bar Harbor and Acadia, but there are also wonderful restaurants in Winter Harbor and nearby. And exploring the Schoonic Peninsula of Acadia is minutes away and gorgeous!Kathleen is a VERY responsive host and provided so many great recommendations.
This new house is beautiful. It is situated on a property that has spectacular views of Cadillac Mountain. This rental comes with EVERYTHING, but your tooth brush!! Value for price paid this rental is superior to any I have ever engaged.
We had the perfect family vacation here this past week with our adult children and first grandchild. Everyone was enthralled with this stunning home and location. This is our third time here and we are returning next year. My husband and I can not come up with enough positive adjectives to describe this very special place. See our past 2 reviews.
Thank you Kathleen and Matt for once again sharing your gorgeous home with us.
All the best,
Maggi, Joe and family
We had such a lovely time at the Jordan Harbor home. The pictures are beautiful but don’t do the home justice. Everything in this house high quality, well-appointed and super clean with thoughtful touches. It was such a wonderful week with family. The view is impossibly serene—everything in sight is natural and undeveloped. It’s the perfect place to recharge. The owner provided helpful and clear communication. We will definitely be back!
Our stay in Winter Harbor was truly our best experience renting a home from VRBO we have yet had! Kathleen's home was absolutely beautiful, and it is perfectly situated on the water with an incredible view of islands, mountains, lobster boats and lots of rocky coast. The kids loved exploring the water front. The home was very clean, everything was new, the home was bright and full of sunshine. We loved going into Acadia, but everyone agreed that the highlight of the trip was just being together in the home at this property. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! It was more than we could have hoped for!
My husband and I must have stayed in at least 50+ places over the past 30 years, and this has to be the most stunningly gorgeous one of them all!! Kathleen thought of every detail in this new beautiful home, and I mean...EVERY DETAIL!! My husband all week would keep saying, "Are we in Heaven?" "No, we are in Maine!!!"
We can not wait to return so much so, I already booked two trips for next year; one with my husband and another with our family. This is the perfect place and location for both types of vacations.
I give this home and location 100 stars.
What a special property. The house and location can't be beat. The house is brand new and immaculate. The kitchen and rest of the house was stocked with everything you might need, and Kathleen included little extras (smores kit!) that made our stay quite magical. The house is close enough to town that you can grab groceries or a sandwich, and far enough to experience the and tranquility of the place. We saw schools of fish, countless birds, seals and otters (we think); and gorgeous sunsets. My kids really enjoyed exploring the rocky beach. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. The decor of the home was lovely and inviting. The interior is spacious and open, which is a bonus when you have four little kids. The view is absolutely amazing. The mountain...the island...the ocean...it's just better than any pictures or words can convey. We spent so much time outdoors, watching the lobstermen check their traps in the morning and watching the stars at night. Winter Harbor is a charming little town, and the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia is a must-see. There's so much to see and do in the area, and the house was a perfect place for those times we didn't feel like doing much at all! This was a fabulous stay, and we hope to return soon.
When our family of 8 first pulled up, it was near sunset. The harbor was glittering like diamonds. When we walked into the home and looked through the windows to the back yard and into the harbor, it took our breath away. The beds were very comfortable, the water temp and pressure was great in the showers, and the house was clean and brand new. The house had everything I needed to cook every day…. seasonings, paper goods, pots, platters, all utensils and cutlery, tupperwear, cutting boards. The kitchen had two dishwashers which was very convenient. We were surprised with the s’mores kit left for the kids and thoughtful card. The kids ran down the stairs into the backyard to lay on the rocks by the shore to watch the sunset every evening. The lupines by the fireplace bloomed during my stay. Magical place !!!
This is our second time here for my husband and I, and we are bringing our adult children back in July. There are not enough words to explain how this place makes us feel other than Magical!! The house is stunning and Kathleen has thought of every little detail anyone could ever want. The view is incredible and you can feel your blood pressure drop the minute you walk through the door. My husband has a very demanding job so it can be difficult for him to decompress within a week's time, but Winter Harbor at Kathleen's, he is able to decompress the minute we arrive. We are very grateful we found this place and that Kathleen and her husband are gracious enough to share this beautiful spot with us!!
With Gratitude.

What a wonderful week! This property does not disappoint. As lovely as the pictures. A little hike to get to Bar Harbor (the ferry has stopped for the season) but one trip over had us counting our lucky stars that we were in quiet Winter Harbor. Ate breakfast at J. M. Gerrish who also sold wonderful muffins and cookies to go. Enjoyed the 5 & 10 and appreciated the owner taking the time to show us places to check out. We did Cadillac Mountain at sunrise (get your tickets early!), hiked in Acadia and Baxter State Park, shopped in Bar Harbor, and enjoyed watching the colors changing as our week went by. We enjoyed evenings by the firepit and afternoons sitting on the porch enjoying the water.
Would come back to this area and this house in a heartbeat. Loved it!!!
This home is by far the best rental we have ever experienced. Kathleen is a superior host and it’s clear she wants her guests to be 100% satisfied with their stay. The home is so well decorated and appointed with everything you could possibly need. The views are breathtaking (can be seen from almost every room in the home) and inside the home and outside it is so peaceful. We loved sitting outside watching nature and enjoying the only sounds of waves and birds skirting across the water. The home is so comfortable, we felt very much at home. The drive to Bar Harbor is about an hour but the drive is beautiful as there is much to see. Winter Harbor, while a small town has some nice restaurants (Tree House was our favorite) and small grocery store, LobStore and some cute shops. Loved seeing the deer along the roadside eating apples. Kathleen provides a pre visit digital booklet that helped us with some planning and the same material was provided in a nice bound book in the kitchen. We loved our stay and hated to leave the serenity of this home and property. If we find ourselves in Maine again this would be our first choice!
The house is beautiful and exceeds expectations set by the photos. Showers were very clean, beds were comfortable and kitchen was everything you could want. Did nothing at times but sit on the back porch or at the fire pit. “Downtown” Winter Harbor had great breakfasts at JM Gerrish Cafe and nice dinner at Treehouse. Biked through Schoodic. Trip to Schoodic Point was a little hilly but worth it. Getting back is somewhat of a challenge for recreational bikers. Take the shuttle.
Took ferry to Bar Harbor which was a ve
ry nice trip with a Bald Eagle sighting on one of the islands. Drove to Acadia Visitor Center, hiked, then took shuttle into town for shopping and dinner. We did find that the lots near the water had multiple open parking spots. Drive time and ferry are about the same, but last ferry trip is around 5pm. Would go back to this place anytime in a heartbeat. Our three children (and our 11 month grandchild) had a blast.
Wow! I cannot tell you enough how amazing this property was, and yet, I don’t want to tell you at all because it might make it fully and totally booked! This house was the highlight of our trip. We loved coming home from adventures out in Bar Harbor (only 45 mins away) and Acadia, and not to mention the Schoodic Peninsula is located only a few miles away and made for an excellent spot for a morning run! We spent hours in what we affectionately called the “reading room” with a wood crackling fire and smooth jazz coming through the Sonos speakers. the kitchen was the most well equipped kitchen I have ever come across in all my time renting and the appliances were top quality, we enjoyed grilling out and cooking in the kitchen (most of which was fresh seafood caught that morning and purchases from the lobster Co-op a mile or so down the road). The steps down to the ocean was such a bonus and we enjoyed venturing out during low tide and searching for sea life such as crabs, clams, and starfish! The beds were comfortable with excellent quality linens and pillows. The bathrooms were well equipped with soaps, shampoos and conditioners plus hair dryers and a medical/first aid kit! Not to mention, 3 showers of excellent quality and water pressure came in handy after a day hiking or playing at the shore. The house is exactly like the listing! Truly what makes this house stand out is not only the spectacular craftsmanship of the home or the view but the care put into the listing. The rooms held good books to read, blankets to snuggle up with, the pantry came with the necessities, the art on the walls was local art/pottery, the drawers were filled with fun games that my family enjoyed again and again and even crafts. We didn’t feel as though we were at a rental, we felt as though we were home. The host was always available for questions and gave us such kindness, complete with a s’mores basket upon arrival with a thoughtful card featuring a watercolor of the area. We already said we wish we had booked even longer and will definitely be booking again! Do yourself a favor and make the decision to book here, I was nearly heroic in my family’s eyes once they experienced the home and surrounding areas.

Jocie,
We could not be more pleased that your visit was just the experience we hoped to provide. The area and the home are truly special and we're so glad you enjoyed both. We'd welcome you back anytime!
The property was even better than the listing. The house had everything you could possibly need and was absolutely beautiful. Waking up to the sound of the water from the Adirondack chairs was the best. It’s a beautiful location for peace and quiet and the ferry ride to Bar Harbor was perfect. I highly recommend the place. It was hard to leave!
Words cannot describe this beautiful home and the amazing time our family experienced here. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived and immense joy with each passing moment. From the amenities inside the home to the property itself, everything was superb. Do not think twice about booking this home, it will not disappoint!
