About this property

"A Little Something Extra" for your Family at Lake Gaston!

Lagniappe (Lan-yap) is a Cajun word that means, "a little something extra" which is what you will get if you stay with us. Lagniappe at Lake Gaston is the perfect getaway for your family and friends for gathering, fun, and relaxation!

Lagniappe at Lake Gaston is located in Henrico, NC on the NE Quad of the lake on beautiful Pea Hill Creek and a short boat ride from Wobble Island. Conveniently located, Lagniappe is 1.5-2 hours from Raleigh, 3.5 from Charlotte, 1.45 hours from Richmond, 2 hours from Virginia Beach, and 3-4 hours from the DC area.

The Pea Hill Creek area is large and has some of the cleanest, calmest water on the lake. The main lake is minutes by boat for water skiing, wake boarding, boating, fishing, jet skis, etc. Lake Gaston has 350-miles of shoreline. It is 34 miles in length and 1.3 miles across at its widest point.

Lagniappe is located on a quiet cove with direct access to the water via boathouse. Swimming, kayaking, and floating is all allowed off of the dock. The boathouse has a slip to park your boat when not in use. It is a quiet, no wake zone cove very close to Wobble Island and a few minutes ride to the main lake. The water depth in the middle of the cove off of our dock is a maximum of about 6 feet. Two kayaks, a lily pad and some floats are available for guest use. A generous porch overlooks the water and is the perfect spot to relax with something refreshing to drink. The house has 5 comfortable bedrooms that will sleep 10. There are two bedrooms with king beds and a kids' room with bunk beds and futon downstairs, complete with tv and classic gaming system for kids of all ages. Upstairs has a queen bedroom and bedroom with a twin and trundle that has a dedicated "work from home" space. Linens and bath towels are included (please bring your own beach towels). There are 3 full bathrooms.

Stocked with all the comforts of home, all you need is here. We have tried to think of everything to make this your home away from home while you visit. Coffee bar, pots/pans, dishes, utensils, dishwasher, blender and other small appliances. A large dining table can sit 10. The sitting room with sofa and chairs features a gas fireplace and 55" flat screen TV with sound bar and several entertainment options including Netflix, ESPN, Hulu, Disney+, and more.

The house offers great outdoor features including a grill, outdoor dining patio with large umbrella, fire pit, and a large lawn for outdoor games. Corn hole, darts and foosball are provided in the "sports shed" along with a tv to watch while playing. Games, cards, and puzzles are available for your stay when the fun must move indoors.

Centrally located and close to grocery store, restaurants, shopping, and a boat launch. There is a miniature golf course just one mile down the road. We are also just a 20 minutes drive from a winery.

While our home does not allow pets, it is not a pet free home. If anyone in your travel group is highly allergic to dogs, our home may not be a good fit for them. While we take great care to clean the home, some people may still be sensitive to the fact that dogs have been in the house.

New for 2022:
new foosball table
new refrigerator
TV added to "sports shed"
boat slip to park your boat in the boathouse
portable wheelchair ramp, New for 2023: stand up paddle board and paddle for guest use

Relaxing as it should be!
The perfect place to relax and enjoy mother nature, your family and friends. The house had all the amenities you would need for your stay. The location was close to many different types of shopping. Also the local fishermen were most helpful to send us in the right direction to find where the fish hang out. Thank you -David and Sonya

We all had a fun and relaxing family vacation. The house is beautiful. The neighbors on either side were very nice. We would definitely stay here again when we vacation on Lake Gaston.

Just what we needed!
This was a super peaceful quiet get away that accommodated all of our needs. The house was in a nice quiet no wake zone that made for a pleasant stay. The home was equipped with everything a family would need! It was super clean and conveniently located near the shopping center. I would highly recommend staying in this beautiful home and would be very interested in renting this home again for our next family adventure!

My wife and I are both from south Louisiana but have made North Carolina our home for the past 23 years.

Why they chose this property

Looking to get away but wanting to be close to home and the need for more private spaces during Covid, we discovered Lake Gaston... practically in our backyard, being from the Triangle. We fell in love with the peaceful, slow paced lifestyle and found we enjoyed being out on the water. Wasn't long before we were looking for a place of our own on the lake and when we saw Lagniappe, we knew it was a place we would enjoy with family and friends! We hope you, your family, and friends will make some fond memories here.
