This was a wonderful vacation stay. We had a group of 6 women for a girls trip and the house worked really well for us. The views from the house were beautiful, there was a nice big living room where we could all hang out, the kitchen was fairly well appointed for a vacation house (read: the knives were sharp, there was plenty of plates, etc). One of the full bathrooms is ensuite to one of the bedrooms, so we did have to coordinate showers a little bit. Overall, great stay - highly recommend! OH and if you do come - be sure to get lunch from Lunch on the Wharf which is super close by the house and had the most amazing (and affordable) Lobster Rolls we had our entire trip.
We had a wonderful stay. The house was spacious and clean, and met all of our needs. Sitting outside on the deck or around the fire pit each night was a family favorite.
We had a lovely stay. the house is fully equipped and was great for a family with kids and grandparents. Hard to get to upstairs rooms for seniors so the first floor master BR is great. The neighborhood is cozy and quaint. The spacious deck and seating is great to hang out and see the water.
Second time we stayed here--would stay again. Amazing views, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of room for 6. Only 1 restaurant (lunch only) is really close--others 15-20 min drive.
The house is fantastic! The view of the boats in the harbor was spectacular. It never got old. The house was clean and well stocked with beach towels, shower towels, and dog towels as well as kitchen accessories.Take time to check out the hidden beach. Great scenery and crystal clear water. The winter harbor to Barr harbor ferry is 10 minutes away. My family liked the boat ride better than being in the harbor. The lobster co op is literally right next store. Met a bunch of the neighbors who were all very nice. I highly recommend this house!
Clean and spacious and charming property for our girl’s get away. The only issue was the drive to Acadia main entrance was an hour away and we thought it was a much shorter distance. (Schoodic entrance was 20 minutes).

Thank you so much for your review. We will note those corrections.
It was a beautiful location with a large yard for the kids. The house is very old and has some quirks, but it worked for our short vacation. Hosts are very responsive and give great recommendations.
House was very clean, very well stocked, with lots of space and different areas. We were only two people, but I can imagine large groups doing well here as there are so many nicely furnished rooms to break into. Loved the beach a short walk away! Communications were easy and quick with very caring host.
We loved our stay at the house! It was very clean with everything we needed and had a huge deck. It was only a short drive to Schoodic. There were lots of great restaurant choices in the area. We had lunch at “Lunch in the Wharf” twice and highly recommend it. Their steamed clams, clam chowder, crab and lobster rolls were delicious and reasonably priced. It was just a short drive from the house. We also took advantage of the nearby lobster co-op twice, also highly recommended.
The house was fabulous with stunning views of the harbor, particularly at sunset. The family set up a few extra tables on the deck on Saturday and enjoyed dinner. In the morning, a family of deer walked right past us on the deck without a care in the world:) We did learn quickly, how fast the temperature drops once the sun hits the horizon!

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
Old house was really historic and neat. Stairs are sketchy not for the really young or old. Gorgeous location. Right on the harbor and close to ocean. Right next to neighbors who have private beach so don't go onto it. There is another beach you can go to...instructions in the house by the stand in dining room. Not the cleanest VRBO, but it is passable.

Thank you for your feedback Brendle. We appreciate you being respectful of private property beside the rental property. Also, it is true the stairs are inherent to the original home and part of the historical features and charm. We do provide cautionary signage to watch your head. We have alerted the housekeeping team that they will need to do a thorough job cleaning after the multiple dogs you had with you during your stay....we acknowledge dogs shed and bring sand in on their paws. Glad you enjoyed the location and historical features. It is truly a unique property on a working harbor.
We loved this place! House is old, but very functional! This house is off the beaten track and access to groceries is very limited. Bring what you need with you. Lunch on the Wharf is just down the road and did not disappoint. To clarify, the house has two kings, one queen and 3 twins. Would highly recommend!
