The interior of this home is a showcase of its surroundings with a tasteful, modern aesthetic. Making the most of the property's premium location, this vacation rental provides a unique take on an open-concept plan with countless windows, abundant natural light, and sweeping views. Sunset Vista offers a spacious floor plan where the well-equipped, full kitchen (complete with a Sub-Zero Refrigerator and a Thermador Professional stove and oven), living area, and dining area are seamlessly combined to offer the best entertainment experience. The living space features a wood-burning fireplace perfect for those chilly evenings, while the dining area is furnished with a beautiful wood table that seats eight. While outside, relax on the patio or play with the kids or the dogs in the huge grassy yard. There is a private neighborhood beach just below the house.

Amazing views!

This was a beautiful house with amazing views and great location to the beach. The king bed and master suite was comfortable and big. The house was very big and dog friendly. The views were amazing from inside or out. We will come here again. The doors were a little hard to open, but we managed. Loved this house and the location.

Lovely time in a beautiful lake home. Starting to show its age and strangely configured, the home has a gorgeous first floor and yard that drops with a cliff to the lake. Stairs close by give access to the beach and water. Beautiful views with stunning sunsets!

What a beautiful and unique house

Me and my husband loved staying in this house. So much space and the best views of Lake Michigan. You can see Chicago if it’s clear. The house has a unique Japanese architecture. The house is very private with a huge yard. We really enjoyed having our dog as well. The house has plenty of space for a big family.

Fantastic lakefront home in a very quiet neighborhood. Lots to wonderful restaurants and micro-breweries close by. The house itself is fantastic with 2 guest rooms with en-suite baths and a fantastic master suite that occupies the entire 2nd. Floor. The lake is front and center of the way the house has been designed. It is a Vacasa managed property and we’ve rented from them before, they are always extremely responsive!

The home was perfect for our family's needs. The weather was not great, so thank goodness for all the indoor space the home offers. The only challenge is, I would not recommend this property if you have anyone with mobility issues. There is a constant need to go up or down a couple of stairs, due to a sunkin living area

Overall great experience. Yes, lots of light switches, but that makes setting the mood that much easier. Yes, lots of stairs and levels, but that makes the interior interesting. Beautiful floors, comfortable seating areas, great fireplace and great kitchen facilities. Neighborhood was very quiet in March, but might get busier in summer. And the view of Lake Michigan is priceless. 5 minute drive to downtown New Buffalo. No direct private beach access at this time.

Great place to stay and relax

This place was awesome, will definitely stay here again. Everything was very clean and check in and check out was very easy. Absolutely loved the view from the back and the restaurants nearby were awesome. Highly recommend staying here! The kids had a blast with how huge the house is. It did take us a couple days to figure out how to control the heat because there are quite a few thermostats but we eventually figured it out.

The location, the home, the views were we incredible. An absolute 10!

Everything was perfect, and I always find that most rentals fall beneath my expectations… That is not the case with this place. In all areas it met or exceeded my expectations. The only thing I would point out is… The kitchen is pretty beat up. That could be as a result of the guests but the rest of the home is so Fabulous, it’s a shame to lose points on the kitchen. A handyman could go in and fix a few minor things to place this house on the pedestal it should be on.

Quiet and beautiful area!

This was a great place to stay to take in the views, relax and just enjoy being at rest. The home is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with some amazing views. It’s quite a nice floor plan with space to spread out. Needs some minor updating/maintenance but overall we really enjoyed the area and the setting.

Beautiful home

The home and neighborhood are really lovely. It appears the home was purchased recently and not much work has been done to it. If I had to guess, I'd say the owners are trying to recoup some costs before making improvements. The kitchen still had canned and packaged items from years past (that have been expired for quite a while!). But don't count on anything as simple as olive oils or salt and pepper. Overall, the house is beautiful, with many wonderful features. Unfortunately, there's no guide to the home, so most of those features are left for you to figure out yourself (like the steam shower). Temperature control is also an issue (you have to figure out which thermostat is active and always put the fan on to make it work), and there are a seemingly infinite number of light switches that nearly drove us insane (partly because some of the bulbs are out). Obviously, the lake is amazing and the views are spectacular, so if that's all you care about, you're in the right place. (There is no beach access at all since there's no beach below, just rocks.) The layout is quite strange and definitely not somewhere you'd want to have small children or anyone with mobility issues (there are stairs you can't see in the photos that are impossible to explain but are both hard to see, even in daylight, and in awkward places). The third floor is a total waste of space, which is unfortunate. The views up there are lovely, but unless you're having a cocktail party, there's really no point to it. There wasn't enough room for a yoga mat, and the only place to sit isn't in a place where you can see the lake (and it's a long bench, so not cozy at all). It needs some more thought (and furniture on the porch - same with the second-floor porch, which is devoid of a place to sit). The entire second floor is a bedroom suite and the bathroom is amazing. However, there are 4 (!) rooms off the side that are entirely useless. 2 are walk-in closets (but one had stains on the carpet that made us want to close the doors and forget about it) and 2 are unfinished rooms that just seem like wasted space. We had a hard time with Vacasa on this trip until we were finally put in touch with Maria, the local manager, who is wonderful. But it wasn't until the second-to-last day that we were told we didn't have access to a garage as the description says. Also, you will have to bring firewood since none is provided (but a store nearby sells it). Just keep in mind that the fireplace is completely exposed and ashes fall beneath the open grate (a foot above the floor). Embers will pop out of the unit if you use the unseasoned firewood you can buy in town. There are no glass doors on the fireplace, no grate for protection, and no fireplace tools to move around wood. You don't want to have a child or animal anywhere near it. We had a log roll out and it was a scary moment. All that said, I would go back now that I know what to expect. I just hope the owners take the time to set up a guide to the house and leave the number of the local manager so questions are answered in a more timely fashion.

Beautiful view!

Great place to get away. Beautiful view of the lake with beach access next door. But, beach is currently all but gone. Need car to get to everything like dining, groceries. Wish house had a few extras like hair dryer ( looked in every bathroom) and maybe a couple of bikes to explore the neighborhood. Other than that peaceful, beautiful retreat. Our dog loved it too!
