Our comfortable Hilo vacation apartment is beautifully decorated and features a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen and an over-sized oceanfront observation deck that affords spectacular views of ocean and island. Room was clean and comfortable. Host greeted us morning after arrival. We were able to do laundry which was very nice. Fabulous sunrise view from the balcony and close to a beach for surfing. I encourage bringing ear plugs. Not sure if the singing frogs are seasonal but they are quite noisy. The bed was very comfortable and location was very central to the various sights to the north and to south of island.

Good value and location for the price. Facilities were a little dated but it was well maintained and clean. The birds sang very loudly so if you need quiet at night that could be problematic but if you enjoy the sound it is pleasant. I would stay here again.

Our hosts Marie and Greg were very welcoming!We lived walking down to the beach to watch the surfers and the sunrise and views from the crows nest. Beds were comfy, strong hot shower, a sofa and chair for seating plus a table for 3 all indoors. Safe quiet neighborhood close to town.

I couldn’t have imagined a better place to stay for our time in Hawaii. We had a wedding to attend on the northeast part of the island and wanted good surfing. This place is right on one of the best surf beaches on the big island. The place was clean and had beach chairs, dishes, a microwave and mini fridge. Everything we needed for our stay. It was quaint and the property is absolutely beautiful. We loved going to sleep to the croqui frogs every night. The rainforest feel is definitely achieved here. But we also had beautiful days. The balcony patio that overlooks the beach is to die for. We sat out there and enjoyed the breeze off the ocean, ate our fresh tropical fruits and the owners dog even came to hang out with us for a bit. They have cute cats that were a joy to see in the mornings and in the evenings when we returned from our days adventures. Marie was so communicative and kind. Her set up is perfect, ease of check in and check out was a dream. Gary was so helpful to move our surf board inside the gate as we left it somewhere not recommended. Amazing, kind, generous hosts. 10/10. We highly recommend this property for your stay. We had the best time pretending we lived there for the week. Many thank yous. Mahalo for being dream hosts and sharing your dream property with us. We would definitely return.

Friendly hosts who let us pick lemons and limes from the trees in their yard. We felt very safe in the area, quick walk to the beach, and AMAZING sunrise views from the overlook!!! Wish we booked at least 3 nights! It is also a very quick drive in to Hilo. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Why they chose this property

This is an ohana studio attached but separate from our home. It does not have an ocean view.

What makes this property unique

Unit is clean and modern with cable modem internet access and cable TV. 3 minute walk to Honolii Black Sand beach. This beach is the best surfing beach in Hilo and has a great beach for relaxing, swimming, reading and sunbathing. Guests are able to use the lanai and observation deck and barbecue. The rental is located on a quiet street where guests can take walks for 20 minutes.
